A small picturesque farm situated on a river between two big forested national parks in East Gippsland.
Witchwood is tucked into the hills just below the Errinundra plateau which is a stronghold of old growth forests, tall wet eucalypt forests and rainforests.
The settlement of Goongerah has a population of about 30 people but no shops, TV or mobile reception (it does have satellite internet and landline phones).
The property is run organically and has a large food production and preserving set-up; vegie gardens, orchard, chickens, geese and dairy goats, as well as two Clydesdale horses, shepxkelpie dog and even free-range guinea pigs in the orchard. Self-sufficient in fruit, veggies, eggs and milk. Still working on chocolate and vegemite.
Have piano but no time to learn - so piano players welcome!
Property is 100% solar powered and has a water wheel for pumping to the hill tank from the river.
A lot of my time is spent working to protect the East Gippsland forests from ... more inside

Hello,Helpers we are looking for someone to help us from the 14th-28th of june. Still loking for someone ASAP

About warburton: We are located 1.5 hours from melbourne which is easily accesible by train and bus.
We live on a sunny half acre block near the yarra river in warburton. Its a beautiful location in a country town. There are many tourist attractions such as the warburton rail trail, several walks, mount donna buang, lala falls.

There is a small supermarket a walk away form our house but the large Woolworths in Yarra junction is cheaper and a 15 minute drive- these may come in handy if you have some food preferences that we don't eat-although we would love you to join us in eating simple healthy organic foods.
Warburton is very cold this time of year and it snows on the mountains around us.

About us:
We live a very sustainable lifestyle here. With a permaculture garden, some animals and strong street community.
We eat very little wheat and sugar and our meals ar... more inside

A biodiverse orchard, nursery & learning space which is still in its infancy.
Join us on the journey of orcharding, living simply and following the seasons.

We follow permaculture principles and deliver a wide range of educational events throughout the year to teach others about regenerative farming, food growing skills and community connection.

We are a family of five and Charlie works 3 days each week off the farm. The 3 kids are all at school.

We founded the local community food co op and are heavily involved in that as well as being very proactive in the local food movement in the region.

We have a retrofitted packing shed that is self contained for our visitors and helpx crew. We run a large vegetable garden and have chickens, geese, bees and dogs.

We don't encourage helpex folk during Winter as it is extremely cold but we welcome them for the Spring Events season Sept - November and the Autumn harvest and preserving season February to April.
