Until march 2016 I am employed in a Hotel therefore most of the time I'm not at home. Only early in the mornings and at night time. This means my place is NO SCHOOL, I won't have the time to teach or show people around. If you want to come here you have to know what to do. There will be projects that need to be done but you're on your own. You can use your imagination and creativity. You will be your own boss. Materials or anything you need to work, I will acquire. If you are a good and fast worker we can sort some kind of payment out. Board and lodging will of course be free.
Projects that need to be done:
- Summer shower
- Outhouse
- Permaculture garden
- Cut and plant trees
- Build / reinforce paths
- Foundation for a Dome
Some good skills to bring are: ability to work with equipment like chainsaw, milling machine, brush cutter, etc.; skills in timber framing ; ability to work with stones, wood, cement, etc. ; knowing how to make plans and request materials.
It would be... more inside

An off-grid smallholding with 3 venues for guests.

This spring I could do with a hand in the garden, getting the horses back in trim ready for the guests, and lots of strimming and general land clearing. I'm also looking at digging a pond.

The website has more information about the place and myself.

I am happy to provide all food, but a share in the cooking /cleaning would be nice.

Accommodation could be in one of the 3 venues if not required for guests. There is room in the Mill for a single or couple, and camping is always available.

Important note - The website mentions myself and Cathy. Cathy died last January (I can't bring myself to take her off yet). While I am usually sociable, at this time I do need a fair amount of privacy, so you will need to be happy looking after yourself/ves. Get in touch and we'll talk.

One last thing - please be realistic about your experiences and skills. Over estimating one's abilities only wastes time and can cause problems. Ev... more inside

We are looking for help painting the outside of our traditional Portuguese cottage. We would prefer someone who is knowledgeable about the preparation involved prior to the actual painting.

We are a middle-aged couple, with two friendly dogs, 4 chickens, a relaxed lifestyle, and a busy social life. We eat mainly non-meat meals, and are dairy-free.

We expect non-smokers and do not tolerate drugs. The accommodation is not suitable for children. We hope for up to 4 hours work a day in exchange for bed, board and beer!

The Centre Algarve project began back in September 2010 and since then we have hosted over 526 volunteers from all over the world. Some stayed for a couple of weeks, some a month and a lot for much longer. Many have returned for second and third visits and ALL have played a vital role in helping us create this wonderful holiday complex for Special Needs and Disabled Children and their families.
As 2014 is nearly finished and in 2015 we are now planning our final push to get the complex finished and are now looking for volunteers to start December 2014 onwards.
We aim to be finished by March 2015, so we have 3 months to do a lot of work and will require volunteers who can assist with:

Basic Electrics, Basic Plumbing, Carpentry, Paving, Tiling, Building, Painting, Garden and Animal care and willing labourers.

We are also interested in any talented Mural Artists who can add a bit of fun to some of the blank walls we have.

We are a UK based charity and are working on a ... more inside

Hello I am Bruno, I'm Portuguese and will two years bought a very old house and some small land within Portugal. Came from the coast and installed me inside the mountain, 2 km from the river Zęzere, located in forests and lakes. The house is almost recovered, but I need help to recover the stone walls and the lands for agriculture.
I am an engineer, but work as a teacher in local schools, which leaves me little time to earth.

Live alone, and our village has only 11 inhabitants, my neighbor has almost 80 years. It is near the Sertă and Ferreira do Zęzere.
I have some animals, such as goats, chickens and ducks, also have two cats

Can offer accommodation and meals for a daily work 4h or 5h.Sunday free.

In exchange for labour I am offering accommodation in my small Vila close to Sao Pedro in Portugal along with food. My place is not a farm but I need help with cleaning it up. Work would include clearing bramble and over growth, cleaning, repairing ( if you have experience in construction) and general upkeep of the landscape. We will only work about 3 hours a day. There are lots of fruit trees in my back yard and other back yards where nobody lives we can eat from. The should all be ripe around the 15th.

A little information about myself. I am a 28 year old male from Canada. have been a full time tree planter for years and have bought this land to use a couple months of the year.
My neighbor Annegrette is also on Helpx and she always needs help as well. She has a lot of wine grape vines that always need attention so there is lots of other work that needs to be done, her property is much bigger than mine.

That picture is 3 years old so picture most of the buildings on the r... more inside

We are looking native speakers (preferably trained teachers) to teach us English, Japanese, Italian, French, German or Chinese. If you can teach violin or yoga as well that would be perfect.

We only accept female volunteers and we prefer 2-3 weeks stay.

Suggested hours would be approximately 3 hours a day, 15 per week (only breakfast)
or
5 hours a day, 25 per week (full board - breakfast, light lunch & dinner).
It would be nice if you can cook.
2 days p/week are free of lessons.
We live in an apartment in the center of Lisbon, the Capital of Portugal.
Our apartment is well situated; there are beaches half an hour away by train, so you can enjoy warm Portuguese weather.
Whatever you are looking for in Lisbon is easily accessible. It is easy to get around.
We live on 3rd floor, no elevator (great for fitness ;)
We´ll do our best to make you feel home.
You'll have a private room with a big bed (linen, towels included), internet and breakfast (+lunch, dinner).
