Carpenters and handy strong people wanted. We have recently acquired our 95 acre property in the beautiful Huon Valley and will build a home, but first there are a million things to do. About 80 acres of Australian bush with lots of furry critturs, and exciting birdlife, and close to the Hartz Mountain National Park. We would love to host you here in the Huon Valley in exchange for labour and have many jobs that need to be done that would suit a range of skills.

A plumber and a carpenter would be the handiest people initially.Having said that, there are jobs for all people who are strong or handy. We have a shed and big dam, and some fencing. That's about it. A denuded gully that wants re-vegetating and more jobs for carpenters than you can poke a stick at. We are only just getting on top of the weed control, and starting work on re-vegetation in some degraded areas. Fencing needs doing too, and setting up the vegie garden.

Do you have an interest in becoming self sufficient? In managing pasture, working with livestock, cultivating food gardens? Home butchering of livestock? Hunting rabbits and keeping bees? How about baking, cheesemaking, or cooking good hearty meals for groups of 6-10?

We've a 40acre farm in the picturesque North East region of Tasmania, and these are all things we are hoping to achieve here. Situated along the Ringarooma River (where there are trout in abundance!), our property currently has our horses, chickens, goats and cattle, pigs, ducks, an apiary - and is likely to acquire anything else along these lines (such as geese, if anyone has Touloluse Geese we'd love to hear from them!)

We are a young, Australian family (two children under 5years) with celtic cultural roots. We like good food and good company! We are social people, and have other local farming friends who also take on HelpX guests.

Hi, Donny, Stacey, Elle-Mae and Molly welcome you to come and stay with us on our small farm in Copping. We have a few cows, sheep, pigs, chooks, heaps of birds, rabbits and a very friendly chatty cat called Puss and a dog that thinks he is part of the family and loves sleeping on the couch!

We are a short distance from the very beautiful Marion Bay Beach and a hot surfing spot. Copping is also on the edge of a gorgeous forest where you can go for picturesque walks. I live in a 3b house on a good sized suburban block in the northern suburbs of Hobart.. The yard has lots of potential for developing a produce rich & native filled garden. Projects to this end include rebuilding a small garden shed; constructing a chook house & run; preparing veg beds; planting & mulcing native beds; paving & preparing an area for a possible transportable room.
The house is close to transport, shops, MONA & the bush.
Helpers with some gardening/building skill would be welcome to stay & offer their skills in exchange for a room, food & bed. Length of stay negotiable. Non-smokers please.

We arrived at our small farmlet 5 months ago. It is very well located 1 km to the village of Margate, 5 mins to the regional centre of Kingston and 15 mins to the capital Hobart. A peaceful environment with views over our land, the Channel and Bruny Island.

We are a well travelled family, lived in Germany, the US and aid work in Africa. We are German and English speaking.

Our backgrounds are in fashion, food, design, woodturning, forests, honeybees, fund raising disaster for relief and sustainable aid. We have 4 adult children and 8 grandchildren.

We need all sorts of help, renovating, gardening, landscaping, small farm work, building Cluckingham palace.

You can learn about making sourdough breads, beekeeping, planting plants for bees, and our beautiful island.

We mainly work from home.

We expect you to work for 4 hrs a day for 5 days with flexible arrangements negotiable.
