Hello, my name is Dominique and I live in Les Herbiers, it's a town about 15,000 people, 1 hour from Nantes, 1 hour from the sea (les Sables d'Olonne). I have 3 children about 25, 23, 21, they are sometimes home, but they are students in Paris and Angers.
I'm a teacher during the week, and sometimes during the end of the week I cook "Crêpes" in the market.
We have a house in the center of Les Herbiers, with a big garden.
We love meet people and take good time together. My friends say about our house that is like " L'Auberge Espagnole".

So I would need help for the following things :

Garden : - Mowing the lawn
- Cleaning the flowerbeds

House : - Painting the kitchen
- Painting the bathroom

Barn : - Tidying up

I hope we'll have good time together.
Dominique

On an old forest property of 13 hectares, located in the wild zone of the west coast of Haute Corse, we have been busy, for more than a decade, the maintenance of this remarkable and fragile space and the seasonal welcome in lodging of tourists-travelers.

At the moment our activities concern for the most part:

- the harvest of floral varieties of the maquis and their transformation and storage
- the maintenance of our donkeys, dogs, cats, chickens and their spaces
- road maintenance and maintenance of the rainwater drainage system and the creek
- maintenance of buildings and their surroundings
- historical research on the old coal activity
- harvesting and storage of firewood
- the establishment and monitoring of a vegetable garden
- the implementation of ecological construction sites (earthen construction, lime renders, paints

We are restoring a fabulous castle with 365 windows that still badly need TLC : putty, linseed oil, varnish... April, May, June, September, October are usually fine. July and August are not a time when works can be done at the chateau as visitors are around.
We would be very glad to welcome one or two people who are fond of old places and heritage. There are lots of other things that need doing as well. If you like refurbishing, if you are good at clearing up, carpentering, plumbering or gardening... you'll have lots to keep you busy !
We live in the South West of France, the Dordogne, in an area where there is lots to visit and enjoy.
We don't actually live in the chateau (so there is some travelling involved) but in town which is nice because Périgueux is a lovely little city right in the center of the Dordogne.
You will be able to share our family life with our teenage daughter. We often have our children and grand-children during the holidays.
We speak both French & En... more inside

Hello all! Welcome! Minimumstay: 3 Weeks – Gardeners, Craftsmen(&wymen) and Allrounders welcome!

We are a relatively new, open-hearted community in the southwest of France. With joy and pioneering spirit we, a good dozen residents aged between 27 and 73, create our new living space. Our organic farm, a former domain, is located on a beautiful southern slope in the Malpère hills in the Aude region. About two thirds of our land (86 hectares in total) consists of forest, which we use gently. On the other third we run a variety of organic vegetable gardens and on the farmland we have planted fruit and nut trees and prepare our fields for organic crops and pastures. Some donkeys, ponies, sheep and horses have moved in. Chickens and goats are planned. We are also interested in alternative cultivation methods such as permaculture and agroforestry which should be realized here. Also for Landart beats our heart.

You have freedom for individual and creative projects here. Culturall... more inside

I am looking for a couple or a single person to help me around the property. I also need assistance with preparing the gites during the summer months, especially in May. Most work is outside - gardening, mowing, strimming and other light maintenance work. I have two large dogs (Great Danes) and if you like walking dogs that is a real asset!
I am from the UK and have lived in France for the last 13 years. There is a self contained flat on the property available for you to live in. I am in a beautiful area of the Loire Valley near Loches and just 1 hour from Tours - lots to do and see! You don't need to help more than 4 hours per day and hours are flexible! You should be positive, self motivated and active!
There is an opportunity to take French lessons with a local French person if you would like. I cook lunch from time to time and will pay for food for breakfast and evenings which you can have where you live.

Hello,

We live in a little farm, in the Northern part of France, near Lille and Belgium. We arrived here more than 30 years ago and we really like this region.
I came back on the farm three years ago to grow organic hop. We also take care of an apple orchard. My parents are also on the farm. As my mum was primary-school teacher on the farm, we are used to welcome and host people. It's a very happy and simple farm, a very nice place to live in, work together and rest when needed!

Our farm is an organic small-scale farm willing to be as autonomous as possible. We initiate projects to deal with climate change and the upcoming issues. We are welcoming and always ready to share our experience.

We mainly work on the hop crops and the orchard. All year long, there are things to do in the hopyard and orchard as taking care of the growing plants, taking the weeds out, cutting the grass, planting and prune trees… Thus, it means, we also do all the works related to this culture (dryi... more inside
