A working farm and equestrian centre. Looking for help around the house and garden. Someone who loves to cook would be gratefully received and would have free range of our kitchen. We would also love someone who is happy to work around the equestrian centre, not necessarily dealing with the horses but painting, weeding, mowing (for those with tractor experience), helping us get ready for camps/events.

We are situated on an arable farm in the Worcestershire countryside. We run a busy equestrian centre and have many different events going on during the year. Our location would be suited to someone who enjoys the outdoors and country life.

We enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures and learning about their way of life as well as sharing ours with them.

Short or long stay, individuals or couples welcome.

We can offer you a large bedroom with private bathroom, all your meals, and a friendly, welcoming, family environment.

Mark and I run a restaurant and B&B with 16 rooms in Cornwall. We are situated in a lovely wooded valley beside a river and only 10 minutes walk down to St Austell town. The famous Eden Project is just a few miles away. The Building was originally a Blowing House (tin smelting) and later was used in the clay drying business. We have just under 2 acres with ponds and tree ferns . The jobs would mainly be helping us to clear trees and shrubs on the valley banks, cutting and shredding wood, sorting out ponds, some cleaning or painting if the weather is too bad.
We have a lovely black labrador and a cat.
We can offer one of our double en-suite rooms with breakfasts and evening meals and a 'help yourself' lunch for 20 hours of help per week. Last time we had HelpXers they volunteered every other day so that they could make the most of their time in Cornwall. We have free internet and a bike for transport. This would be ideally suited to a couple.
We can only need extra help from No... more inside

From December 1st, Grow Heathrow is open to new volunteers of all genders, for a 2-month trial period.

At this point we are able to accept 4 new volunteers per month: after being here for a week as a guest, you can apply to be a volunteer for another 3 weeks, following which you will have the opportunity to apply to be a long term volunteer for 3 months. This is so we can all get to know each other and make sure we're going to get along in the long run!

It's chilly and gets dark early at this time of year, so you will need to come equipped with warm winter clothes, a sleeping bag and a torch!

On to the story of how we came to be...

There are a few acres of land by the M4 and M25 motorways in west London where three dilapidated greenhouses stand. Since 2010 a group of activists, local residents and people living off-grid have worked to return them to their original purpose as a market garden, and to make them into a community centre.

At meetings we use a process called... more inside

I live in a beautiful part of the UK - wooded and lush, with great walks and easy access by road and rail to the rest of the South.

I run a BnB in an old house with a large garden and woodland, and it's a lot to manage. I've taken on help before in the past and it's worked out very well so I'm looking forward to doing the same again.

In exchange for about 5 hours help a day, you will have your own room, wifi, all meals, laundry.. one of the family basically. I am very flexible when it comes to fitting in trips and visits.

The helping hours you are required are flexible depending on the weather and what needs doing that day. I have a garden and grow fruit and vegetables.

The work can vary to suit you and can include:

GARDEN: digging, weeding, shed building, green house, fruit cages, herbaceous borders, lawn, drive..
WOODLAND: moving logs, knowing how to use a chainsaw would be useful
HOUSE OUTSIDE: painting, gutters, some building work if you've the skills,

We are keen green recyclers living in a large edwardian house (1904) We have had wonderful helpXers since summer 07 and they have done great things in the house and garden.

We would like you to come initially for 2 weeks, to help in the house and garden and also to help with young foreign students who stay with us while they study at language school nearby. We would like you to do jobs that we don't have time to get done ourselves. You will mostly work alone or with another helper; you will eat with us and mealtimes are when you can chat and improve your English.

We ask HelpXers to work 25 hours each week. The times will vary; usually in the mornings, but sometimes afternoons/evenings. Hopefully we will have another helper so that you have someone to work with and to go exploring after work - perhaps you can come with a friend?

We like to get to know our helpers before we agree to a long stay; come for one or two weeks to see how we get along... Please do not ask us to ... more inside

Family home farm devoted to horses and (soon) Berkshire pigs (plus some poultry). It borders the 12,000 acre Longleat estate where the horses are exercised, and you can go for runs etc.

At the end of a private lane in the Somerset countryside but only a mile from the market town of Frome, and half an hour by car from Bath and Bristol. We are looking for somebody cheerful (and strong!) with experience in stone walling/post and rail fencing and some looking after horses/other bits and pieces around the farm.

7.30am - 11.30am and the rest of your time is your own. Food is provided, warm caravan accommodation inside a barn. Bicycles you can borrow to explore the countryside. Phone work reference required please.

A large old property in need of repair with a large garden in need of care. The work is varied - hedgetrimming, mowing lawns, weeding the vegetable patch, clearing undergrowth from the wooded area. Also exterior and interior sanding and painting. We try to work outside in good weather and save indoor jobs for poor weather unless they are urgent.
We rent out 2 rooms and a caravan on Airbnb during the main tourist season so there is the possibility of some housekeeping tasks between May-September.
We ask for 20 hours of work a week in exchange for food and accommodation. Outside of the agreed hours you are free to explore the area. We do ask, however, that you do not bring additional guests back to the house.
We are a 10 minute walk from a large beach and 100 metres from the Hayle Estuary.

You will have your own room with wifi. If you come as a couple, you will share a room. You will also share a bathroom with a maxim... more inside
