Volunteers welcome for late September onwards who are interested in helping in the house with cooking, cleaning, ironing and laundry. Making rooms ready to receive guests.

I enjoy trying new food from around the world, so if you have any favourite recipes, please bring them along.

There will be some work in the garden, staying in my home in Birmingham. The work will be hands on, digging, planting, weeding, getting hedges under control. You need to know a little about gardening, and be able to use lawn mower and hedge trimmers etc.

There may be some furniture upcycling too, painting old furniture I got from the charity shop. I`m looking for people who can work fairly independently, and enjoy the work, and enjoy being creative within a general outline plan.

Some decorating and odd jobs around the house might be involved too, particularly when the weather is not great.

Food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours work a day with 2 days off p... more inside

Availability NOW, and we have a STRONG preference for medium/long-term Worker.

An amazing opportunity to live with an incredible and loving family, Ross and Emily live on a small farm in a quiet valley near Bath, Somerset with their three children: two boys aged 12 and 9, and a daughter aged 6. We run a full time Son Rise Programme for our eldest boy who has autism. Our younger children are in an education project we co-set up (the first of its kind outside Brazil!). We want extra help with our children and the farm.

A happy can do attitude is essential, the magic words are, "How can I help?". We want people with the ability to form strong relationships with us, be open, have strong desire to learn more about yourself, a love of life and a will to live authentically in the world.

We live and work from home and and need help with our children, the farm and animals. We have a small holiday cottage, a Steiner Kindergarten and a small farm with sheep, ducks, hens a... more inside

We are an off-grid community and market garden based in South Oxfordshire. About 1 hour by train from Oxford or London, our closest town is Reading.

We are a community of around 8 people living close to the land. Our main income is from our fossil fuel free vegetable growing co-operative, and we also keep pigs and poultry. We do green wood-working, low-impact building, foraging, hosting practical education sessions and lots of other land based stuff.

Visitors/volunteers can stay any length of time from one day to 3 months, A bit of cooking, washing up and wood collecting is expected of all residents and visitors and any extra work is based around what you would like to do.

Evening meals are usually eaten together, with breakfast and lunch self service. Accommodation is basic; either a shed or a tent will be available, with access to compost toilet and water on tap.

I live in a pretty bungalow with a large garden plot, small orchard and also a field where I have a small campsite, abput 7acres in total. I am within walking distance from the railway station on the main London - Exeter line within a village location (with buses). There are plenty of walking and cycling routes surrounding but we are just on the edge of the Yeovil town centre (two miles) so not completely cut off from civilisation.

Looking for help mainly in and around the very large garden and drive, mainly clearing, fencing and repairs if possible. There is always an endless list of things to do! I have a pool that helpers can have access to and a comfortable room to stay with wifi and TV. I have two dogs and small ponies that I drive on a regular basis. Perhaps up to a week stay at a time would suit and perhaps a couple of people travelling together who are used to outdoors work.

After a long period not requiring help, due to illness we are now looking urgently for a helper, 2 friends or a couple to help run our holiday accommodation, bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite, as well as some animal husbandry looking after our horses and sheep. We would like somebody who can stay until around mid September, learning how we do things initially and then being able to put this into practice in our absence.

Helpers will be involved with the day to day running of our bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite; booking people in and out, answering enquiries, ensuring that the premises are clean and tidy, changing beds, laundry and general cleaning, grass cutting, and perhaps occasionally preparing simple meals for guests. Some days can be really hectic especially when there is a changeover between two big groups, other days when a group is staying for several nights, for example, there may be nothing to do except a quick inspection and dispose of rubbish.

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, small herd of rare breed cattle, sheep and dogs! (See photos below of a 2011 help-xer with one of our lambs and 2013 help-xers cleaning out the pond!)

We would like help with looking after the animals including our active dogs, woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal.

We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will see from the ... more inside

I am proud to offer you a place in one of the most beautiful spots in my opinion, and for sure one of the best in the Scottish Highlands.
I'm looking for someone, who can help me a bit with everything, household, in the garden (there is only grass at the moment) and with my business (helping with production and sales of natural skincare and soaps)
Work would probably not be more then approx 15-20 hours a week.
My house is at the West coast of the Scottish Highlands, on the NC500, directly at the shore of Loch Ewe.
I have one cat, so please be aware in case of allergies.
I can only offer very simple accommodation, sharing bathroom and probably a guestbed in the living room for the moment. But as I work full-time most of the house is free to use.
Bus station is near the house, shop around the corner and the house is at the beach.
For the moment, women would be preferred. Except, there is a handy man, who could even help me build a garden building. Thanks for getting in tou... more inside

Hi, salut, ciao, hola My name is Alastair and I am looking for help with my wife Frances who has been afflicted with early onset dementia. This has left her with limited and diminishing mobility and communication ability. We live in suburban S.E. London and require assistance with maintenance of house and garden.Assistance can be direct e.g. gardening or indirect I.e. sitting with Frances while I garden.
Work
To do outside
Clear ivy, brambles, holly. Cut gas, bushes, etc
Internally
Clearance of accumulated stuff and redecorating from rooms particularly upstairs which has been a bit of a tipping ground since we are effectively living on ground floor only.
Hours worked can be flexible to suit weather and allow helpers to visit London attractions.

Accommodation
This could be in single or double rooms depending on the progress of clearance and decoration.

Location
House is less than 10 minutes walk from nearest overground rail station. Local buses to Bromley and Croydo... more inside
