Hello HelpXers - If there is anyone out there, available NOW, with a seriously healthy appetite and a great work ethic who likes to indulge in a good amount of meat, fish and eggs then please get in touch as I have more food than I frankly know what to do with! I'm looking for someone to do roughly four hours per day, five days per week (weekends off). More suited to someone with their own transport as we are a long way from town, although we do have some spectacular views to enjoy! Thus if you enjoy walking / hiking then this could well be the place for you. You will need to be physically fit or prepared to hurt for a few days until your muscles learn! If you are knowledgeable in the equine arena so much the better, but if not, no worries as I am happy to teach you everything I've learnt over the last forty odd years. I prefer longer stays to shorter ones - with a minimum of two weeks. Please DO NOT contact me if you are expecting central heating, cleanliness everywhere and someone... more inside

I am slowly setting up an organic permaculture farm on 2.6 acres near the North coast of Cornwall. We will be camping in tents, with 1 space in a caravan during the summer while we create an edible forest garden, a no-dig market garden, plant trees, make paths, clear brambles, tend our beehive, and learn about growing food. Solar power available for occasional internet and movie nights, but the field is very basic so self-sufficient types only please. I am working in care to pay for this so will be working with you at least 3 days a week, up to 7.
We will be carrying with building and insulating our large shed/cabin, plus establishing beds for a no-dig market garden.
Surfboard/bodyboard/kayak available for use, with kitchen in caravan and collected drinking water, and rainwater for showers in the polytunnel.
I'm no slave driver - we'll balance out work with chill time on the land and at the beaches all around us. We're sited on a popular cycle route.

Hello,
My name is Ania and I live in Oxford. I’ll be going away by the end of May(27th of May till 8th of June 2018). I would like to find someone for this duration to look after my dog Gustav. He is a very well behaved dog and loves people. You’d be responsible to look after him, taking him for an hour walk around 1pm and another one around 5pm. Oxford has a lot to offer, there are a few museums, great pubs and a good music scene. You can take Gustav to the pub too, many of them allow dogs. You would be staying in my room. There are two lodgers in the house who are very friendly but they both working full time so I can’t ask them to look after my dog. It would be a great opportunity for someone who wants to explore Oxford because you’ll have a lot of time in between. The accommodation would be of course free but you’d have to pay for your own food hence there is no actual work that needs to be done, you just need to like dogs!
If you have any questions please don’t hasitate to ... more inside

We are an organic flower and vegetable market garden growing for the local market. We have a very holistic approach to growing ensuring that the whole environment is kept in harmony and that biodiversity is promoted at every opportunity. We concentrate on flower growing through the summer months and then move into vegetables as the season progresses. We are looking for one or two people to help us from the end of May to mid September. Ideally you will be happy to stay for at least a month, or maybe the whole summer. The work is manual and will include picking and preparing produce for market, seeding, planting out, hoeing etc. We look forward to your enquiry.
Please look at our website for more information about what we do. Horticulture/Gardening experience would be helpful, and a love of working outdoors and being part of a small team essential.

I am refurbishing a cottage and creating a vegetable garden. I need help from some skilled helpers or good 'handy person'- will need electricians, carpenters, plasterers, gardeners - those with a creative edge.
I work full time.
The house is very close to the coast (3/4 miles) and is located in beautiful countryside and good for walking. Approx 7 miles from Plymouth. Close as well to Dartmoor fro those who like moorland hiking/walking and Cornwall only a stones throw.

We are a 26 acre traditional smallholding in mid-devon. We are renovating the land, which has been largely unused for a century. We keep rare breed sheep, goats, and chickens, and hope to include pigs shortly.

We have a large ongoing task in repairing / cutting back the hedge rows, with a view to repariing the banks, re-planting the gaps, and being able to lay the hedges in future years. We've also begun planting a new wood copse in one field, and plan to plant a traditional orchard in another.

One thing we have struggled with is getting our veg gardening up to scratch. We have experience and enthusiasm, but not enough hours in the day!

Whilst not being registered organic, we self-impose most of that system. We do treat the animals with medicines, but on an evidence-based basis.

Our over-arching approach is one of sustainability.

We would ideally like to find a person or a couple who was prepared to stay for several months of the spring/summer/autumn, and help with cr... more inside

*April/May placement*

Hi we’re Adam and Laura, we have a little boy called Harry and an English Pointer called Ottie. We currently live with Adams parents on a lovely smallholding, named Wickwood in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Wickwood consists of 10 acres of mainly fields and woodland, a farmhouse, cottage style gardens, vegetable patch, and is home to around 20+ sheep and numerous chickens.

We’re just in the process of refurbishing a large barn conversion, which will be our future home and also includes an attached holiday cottage.
We’re looking for one of two helpers, with building or decorating experience to help us complete the house, which should take another 4 weeks.

There are also gardens, woodland and an orchard which we hope to bring back to life and may even turn into a Glamping site.
Accommodation and food will be provided in return.

We are very sociable people and enjoy other peoples company.

We’re keen to find helpers who have skills and... more inside
