We are a retired couple with husband registered disabled. Until recently I was an active Helpxer in Europe but now am limited to light duties only.

We have two needs - one anytime from now and the second maybe from Easter depending on the weather.

We seek a competent carpenter to hang / rehang doors and generally help us keep the house in good condition. I would estimate a week's work based on 4 hours a day and am happy to commit to hosting for that time.

From Easter we want to substantially redesign our back garden and consign our 15 sq metres of decking to the fire. We will be laying stone tiles and digging / constructing a water feature / pond. Then reconfiguring lawns and veg patches. Strong backs and knees needed as well as passion for gardening and creative input as plans by no means finalised.

Also under and gloss painting needed in the house on a few doors.

The working day will be dictated by the needs of the job and weather - but probably no more than 4 a day... more inside

***********from January 2019**************

I am looking for someone to help with childcare or the garden or both! Currently childcare is more urgent but I will consider either. I can provide a double room with access to shared bathroom and kitchen and I'd be happy to provide vegetarian food. There is central heating, shower, bath, two toilets, constant hot water, access to cooking facilities and wifi.

I have a 9 year old son and 2 cats. I work from home and also occasionally have Airbnb guests so need to keep the the place in good order and appreciate guests that tidy and clean up after themselves. You would have access to the whole house but there will be times when we may ask you not to use one or other sitting rooms depending on my work or other. Happy to show you around and spend some time together but also hope you'll appreciate time to explore independently and understand that we will all need some space.

My son is 9 and likes to get on with his own things most of... more inside

We are interested in hosting helpers for up to a week at a time. Our 3 children have all left home so it is very quiet around here - if you want an exciting time, this is probably not the place to visit! We have three holiday cottages, vegetable, willow and fruit plot, bees and a small flock of hens. James has a small saw mill to convert locally grown timber, a firewood processor to produce firewood and woodworking machinery. Our heating is from a high tech log fueled boiler. Photo voltaic panels provide some of our electricity. Jane looks after the cottages and garden and makes baskets. The work is varied and dependent on time of year. Gardening, grass cutting, willow harvesting and sorting, firewood, fencing, scrub cutting, cottage changeovers, building maintenance. This is a beautiful area to explore.

The nearest town is 9 miles away with very limited public transport so you really need your own transport.

What we are offering is accommodation in a two bedroom self... more inside

As a family, we run a bustling wee ‘micro-hostel’ from our home and garden in the heart of Ullapool village. The property is pretty big (about 1000 square meters) and very versatile in what it allows us to do here. We’ve had a lot of success renting interesting/alternative spaces online for the past two years, and are looking forward to re-opening in 2018 with brand new quirky, luxury bell tents alongside our lovely wooden glamping pod.

Our organic garden has raised vegetable beds, flower beds, fruit trees, honey bee hives, chickens, guinea pigs, extremely friendly cats and a very welcoming lurcher dog called Polly.
Music, song and circus skills are always handy things to bring, but some of our most successful hosting experiences have been with helpers with aptitudes like climbing (we have a fantastic new wall in the village,) reiki massage, yoga teaching and photography. (Did we mention music? :) We are keen for folk that can come and teach the kids guitar and/or inspire them... more inside

Hi we’re Max (21) and Maggie (19) we’re living on Max’s parents (Sheila and Cliff) smallholding in the beautiful welsh countryside. The Property comprises 9 hectares of small fields bordered by majestic oak trees, that we are managing as a nature reserve and permaculture garden. The land also includes a small lake which is visited by wild ducks and a moorhen family.

The buildings include a barn conversion and a double Decker bus that we are renting out as holiday accommodation. We’re living in in the old farmhouse that dates from the 17 hundreds and Max’s parents live next door with his 12 year old autistic brother.

We ask volunteers to help 4 hours, five days a week. The hours are pretty flexible but we like to get most of the tasks done in the morning. The help will mainly involve general maintenance in the land and cleaning the holiday cottages (which is important in order to fund other projects) and helping to get the vegetable garden up and running as well as some cons... more inside

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A HELPER TO ASSIST WITH FARM WORK FOR THE WINTER MONTHS!

We are a small, family run, local food cafe/bistro on the island of St Martins in the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall. Most the food we sell is grown and produced on our smallholding and then freshly prepared in our kitchen. The cafe is open from April til October each summer (the main tourist season), but we sometimes take helpers on in the winter months to assist with farm and/or maintenance work, etc.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to help with all aspects...waiting tables, cleaning, cooking, helping out on the farm, ect. The majority of the work is front of house, waitressing and cleaning the premises but if there is an interest/capability we are happy to train longer term helpers to assist with the cooking or helping out on the farm. Helpers with experience with front of house work would be preferred but not essential. Looking for friendly, outgoing people who love good food and... more inside

*Space available now*

We have lots of little jobs we need help with -one is the garden and the shed, which needs a lot of work/weeding/a deck building in the shape of a leaf??, and help re-building a shed, plus we need to build/make a new fence.

We live in a beautiful valley in West Wales about 10 miles from the sea, in an old stone house which we are renovating and could do with a little help in exchange for bed/food and some day trips out to lovely places.

We will be able to provide bed and full board - but can't guarantee to cook meals every night - although anyone who likes cooking is very welcome to! If you let us know food requirements we can stock up before you arrive. We are non-smokers and are not vegetarian, but are always trying to learn new veg recipes, so happy to try to provide veg diet if needs be.

A few hours (4-5) a day with weekends off would be all we'd ask. We are also on Couchsurfing so have had lots of different visitors here and enjoy having... more inside
