Farm stay in Narracan,
My name is Helen, I live in our old family farm in Narracan.

The area here is beautiful! Small waterfalls close by, nature hikes and a rich agricultural area.

Farm is close to public transport, (9 minutes to Trafalgar train station)

We no longer run our cattle on the property so need help with yard work, vegetable gardening, pruning fruit trees, fencing and weed slashing

Staying with me Helen,

We are a well travelled couple with a delightful four year old daughter and have lived abroad, spending many years in Southeast Asia. We are now resident in Mount Martha on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and would welcome some help with gardening, fruit tree pruning, lawn mowing and housework. We have plans to build a chicken coop but that's on the to-do list - let us know if you have the skills! We are seeking four hours a day, (five days a week) in exchange for delicious food and accommodation. We can cater for some food allergies including coeliacs and lactose intolerant.

No smoking in the house but acceptable outside. We enjoy cooking and food and we look forward to cross cultural exchanges. We can speak some Vietnamese (reasonable), Indonesian (basic), Cambodian (basic) and school French...(basic) and would love the exposure fto new languages and cultures for our daughter.

We are about 2km from the beach, 10 mins walk to a large shopping centre and have bicycles you ... more inside

There are 2 options for hosting available and details of those options will be sent to applicants who may be suitable. The first option requirements are detailed below. The second option requirements will be detailed by email to all helpers who we think may be suitable.

We are located at Shepparton in northern Victoria. we are looking for a person/s who are above all honest, have experience with thoroughbred horses and have a good work ethic, who are neat and clean who can help me for a few days a week with my horses or general farm work and gardening.. My wife and I live in a affluent area in a 4 bedroom home with 3 bathrooms opposite a golf course and with a pool for summer and we are on the fringe of town. My farm is 10 mins away. My wife and I are both excellent cooks and have raised 4 kids (21 to 30 yrs old) who have all gone off to professional careers.....hence the position. One of them our 24 yo son is presently living at home before he travels OS in May. I essentially need someone to assist and be that second person that you often need around horses. My farm is simple but very workable for both broodmares , weaners and yearlings and we are only 2 hours from Melbourne with direct rail links. The property is located 1 hr by train and 45 minutes by road from Melbourne CBD. I spend much time overseas and my vineyard has become overgrown with weeds and blackberries so need assistance to clean it up.

I live here mainly on my own (sometimes my daughter stays). I'm a good cook and enjoy hosting guests. I have a very friendly dog named Millie. There are markets and pubs nearby and plenty of places to explore. Lots of native wildlife such as kangaroos and birds and a great swimming hole in the Yarra River not too far away.

We would like to welcome a handyman, carpenter, landscaper or gardener to our home (whichever one comes first!). We live in the beautiful leafy surrounds of Eltham, which is is a 45 minute drive from the CBD, or a 50 minute train journey to the CBD from the local Eltham train station.

Eltham is known as one of the prettiest suburbs of Melbourne, very lush with gum trees everywhere, and walking tacks, the river, and nature parks at your doorstep. Mudbrick homes can be spotted across the suburb and even the large local Eltham library is built of mudbrick. Though itís a suburb, it really feels like you are living in the country with city conveniences.

In exchange for 4 hours help a day 5 days a week (or 20 hours a week at negotiable times) you will receive accommodation and meals, staying in your own spacious room downstairs with queen bed, sofa, woodheater and an outdoor spa for use outside your sliding doors in your own little courtyard (that needs some work to make it private ... more inside

Looking for help to create a mini-Eden 30min from the city. I work full-time as a researcher, sometimes as a Permaculturist in my home studio. As I have a lot on, I'm looking for someone observant & self-directing, able to see what needs doing. Tasks incl gardening in 2 courtyards, tending 20+ fruit trees, helping build a water-catching system, home maintenance, website creation & helping with organising my P/c teaching & design work. My home has 'just enough' beauty & usefulness, combining P/c & minimalism. Reservoir train station is 5min away & there are many creative places to explore in Melbourne. Accom for 1-2 in own room, or sofa bed. Would suit singles or a couple, over 22 years of age. Shared meals, or food provided for you to prepare your own. Meat-based diet. No smoking on property. No children. Contact me with information about your hobbies, interests & hopes for the future. Initial stay 2 days, longer stays neg up to 2 weeks.
Availability: Available March.
