I have a large house in St Leonards on Sea, a seaside town, close to Hastings - 1066 country! I have been recently widowed, have a grown up family, and a brother with Special Needs, he is a great part of my life.
I am a vegetarian, a non smoker, kind and patient. I would like help around the house and garden, and any jobs that need doing.
I am a Nutritional Therapist I give good advice and run a Natural Health Clinic in Battle (and a PA, with web skills in Reception, would be great). I happily support other therapists to practice.
I have 2+ acres with a small wood in Battle – I grow organically, there is plenty of manure! The ability to tell a plant from a weed is very useful, lessons can be given!
There is always work to be done. A lot of DIY - and always ongoing maintenance, plenty of wood collecting etc for wood burners.
I am a good networker, I sing in a choir and have recently started Yoga, I like Country Dancing and Barn Dances, although I don’t go very often. I am k... more inside

February 2018 UPDATE: I am looking for someone to stay for 2 weeks, anytime from now to the end of April.

Small cottage on the South Downs, 8 miles north of Brighton.
Very beautiful rural location with lovely walks along the Downs.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a small residential home and NOT a farm or smallholding.

The cottage and garden need renovation. Help is required in the garden; some digging would be involved as well as plenty of weeding, cutting back, clearing of rubbish, mowing lawns and planting. Anyone interested? I also need someone who can paint and decorate the interior of the cottage; these skills would be very helpful. Those with building experience would also be most welcome.

4 FULL day’s work with 3 days off, in return for accommodation, evening meals, and possibly some sightseeing. Preferably 10 days to two weeks, however, I would consider longer stays for the right person (or couple). I am happy to help with English lessons if required. The ... more inside

Our farm is situated on the top of the National Trust's Brockhampton Estate with stunning views in all directions. It is a family run working farm home to James and Victoria Hawkins along with Fraser just back from Uni. We have a unique location with stunning views, traditional farm buildings, ancient woodland, tree-lined watercourses and orchards. Come and explore different parts of the farm and share our passion of farming and the countryside. Warren Farm is committed to sustainable agriculture and during the past ten years we have been introducing wildlife habitats across the farm. For example by restoring hedges and creating broader margins around all arable fields and currently developing several wetland habitats using the natural water courses on the farm.
The farming consists of arable beef and sheep along with many diversification projects.

We are a small, family run organic fruit and vegetable farm in the heart of the Norfolk fenland. We believe that farmers should work with nature, not against it, to produce the freshest, most delicious local produce possible. For us this means never using nasty chemicals or artificialities, relying on nature’s own remedies and rhythms to grow healthy, full flavoured fruit and vegetables.

The 25 acre farm grows over 100 different lines of fruit and vegetables throughout the year.
Any one week we take at least 25 lines to Farmers markets. These range from Apples, Plums and Pears to Potatoes, Lettuce and spinach.
We have 2 acres of orchard and approx 3/4 acre of poly tunnels. The rest is outside cropping.
There is always somthing to do, planting, weeding, harvesting or preparing for the many farmers markets that we attend.

**We have space from 19th March for helpers who would like to stay for about two weeks.**

We keep poultry and rabbits and have a vegetable garden at our house in a small village on the Quantock Hills. We are also involved with our family horticultural nursery and smallholding two miles away, where our family also has beehives. We sell eggs and breed and sell hens and rabbits. We run courses in poultry-keeping from beginners to advanced levels (that helpers are welcome to participate in). We have an interest in sustainable/local food production and are starting to experiment with perennial vegetables and how chickens can be integrated in to a system. We kill and prepare our own chicken for the table.

We are looking for help for about 28 hours a week, spread to be mutually convenient.

After being shown how and becoming confident we like helpers to take responsibility for feeding and watering the rabbits and chickens in the morning, most mornings. This usually takes about an h... more inside

You'll be made very welcome. BUT RIGHT NOW we can't take visitors
This is a Cotswold house with a large garden ...I need help to get the house and garden ready for visitors and also while we have people staying.
You'd have your own comfortable room and be expected to work with me and unsupervised on everything from gardening, cleaning, DIY and decorating - maybe even teaching and art work if you like that kind of thing? We'll be around so you can ask questions if you need help with stuff. It's a lovely part of the world.

Are you available from mid-February for a few weeks? Have you got some gardening skills, practical skills like painting and do you like dogs/cats? Is your English of intermediate level or above? I am looking for a disciplined and hard-working person to help with the following: taking care of dog & cat one or two days a week, some housework, cleaning and occasional cooking. Some garden work - mainly pruning and tidying. The house is in north London, 10 minutes walk from train station and shops. Dog and cat are part of the family - so you need to like animals, not have any allergies etc. In return I can offer a nice environment, good, home-cooked food and help with your English as I am an English teacher. If you are preparing for an English exam or need better English for job applications, this could be a good opportunity for you. You would need to provide references either from the HelpX website or elsewhere. I look forward to hearing from you.
