We are a small holding on the banks of the River Barrow in Co Kilkenny. The Farm is home to producers of premium free range edible snails. I (Joe) work full time on the farm and my partner Martin works from home as a freelance designer. As well as a couple of hundred thousand baby snails, we also have 4 ducks (some ducklings just hatching), 2 chickens, 2 goats, 1 dog and 1 cat!
We have many projects this year that we would like help completing. Building a new house for the goats and erecting a fence to keep them safe in there new surroundings, replacing the netting over our snail field, clearing out an old house (currently the goats home) to get it ready for a new purpose & bring our 2018 baby snails out to their new home when the weather warms up.

We grow a lot of our own vegetables and I (joe) am always keen to learn from other experienced growers and permaculture folk.
We work hard and enjoy life :-)

We are keen to find energetic, outgoing people to come help on our far... more inside

We are looking for an energetic person to share our lifestyle, experience some great Irish hospitality! and to help in the garden and home in exchange for a bed and meals. The jobs will be extremely varied - from weeding, preparing beds for the growing season, and watering the polytunnel, walking the dog, laying the table, and cleaning up after meal times to playing mad soccer games in the garden! Looking for 1 or 2 helpers

2 weeks at the start of May and most of July

I am a 35 year old male, after years of traveling I've returned home and set up a small business. It is a coffee dock (a vintage caravan converted) from which snacks are sold too. I've been living at home with my mother to set the business up but she will be away for the first 2 weeks in May and the month of July. She is traveling around in a camper van to play Irish music at numerous festivals. It is for this reason I need help to look after the two dogs that will remain behind. They're both very well behaved and have great energy, they're great company and will love you lots for long walks. We live in an area that you have access to walks just out the front door, I will accompany you on a few walks to get you comfortable with the dogs and the area.

I run a coffee dock and have 2 dogs and cats that need minding during the day. One Collie dog and a white shepherd that require good exercise. The garden ... more inside
