This is a small olive and fruit farm, in a secluded, beautiful place, with views of the mountains 40 miles away, and a pine forest behind the farm.

We are not overlooked at all, there are no street lights, no light pollution, no power lines, no cell towers, nothing, nada, the stars at night are breathtaking and the closeness to nature is wonderful, the wild pigs often come for a drink from our small lake at night, we have hoopoo's, cuckoos, magpies, and many small birds nesting, and usually have big birds of prey overhead, eagles or buzzards I guess.

I am 50, male, have a car, love this country and have lived here for one year. I am learning Portuguese presently and can help a little if you want to learn. I don't smoke, do drink alcohol, I am respectful and cool with LGBT people. My background was academic but I am retired now.

Here there are three stone houses, two converted to live in already and one a ruin, plus a lovely 5 metre yurt with wooden floor, stove, lockabl... more inside

We are a young couple. Husband (Shivam) is Portuguese and Wife (Amari) is Indian.

We live in a beautiful property that is 100% Solar Powered. We also have our own water source making us completely sustainable. We are totally off the grid but we have great systems in place. We have a total of 11 hectares of land. We also have a salt water pool.

The access to our place is via dirt road 2.5 km and we are pretty isolated but everything you need is right here or in the village (10 mins drive) or in Odemira which is 25 mins drive away. We are able to take you there. We are about 45 mins to the coast. We are completely surrounded in nature.

In exchange for help you will get meals & accommodate: in SUMMER & SPRING you will be in a tent - In WINTER & AUTUMN (separate quarters with an en suite bathroom this is a SHARED ROOM and can fit 3 volunteers) It is likely you will be sharing this space usually two people share.

The room also has a wood burner so it is very warm in winter.... more inside

We live on an olive farm in the centre of Portugal, not far from the market town of Oleiros. The farm is in its early stages of being brought back to life, having being abandoned around ten years ago. There's lots to help plan, repair, improve, and set in motion.

The quinta has about 250 olive trees and lots of other fruit trees - many of which we've planted ourselves. There is a main farmhouse, where we live, and about a dozen small stone cottages, most without a roof, that we are gradually repairing. We have lots of terraces to maintain and develop and a large amount of woodland to get under control.

We are hoping to implement a permaculture system on the Quinta and have planted out an area for a forest garden. We are also in the early stages of creating raised beds and an irrigation system. We have no animals, apart from 2 small and friendly dogs.

There are things to do all year round, but we are particularly looking for volunteers to join us and help pick the olives in ... more inside

We are a family run business.
Your hosts are Natasha and Michel, a married couple with their young daughter Maya, and son Mylo.

Before we started this project Natasha was working as a DJ and Michel was working as a sculptor around the globe.

After visiting this part of Portugal on a holiday we felt totally compelled to change our lives move here and start a campsite, inspired by the new ‘glamping’ movement, and our personal passions in yoga, health, food and art we wanted to combine all of these factors.

We grow all our own vegetables, have a restaurant and bar, offer horse riding, yoga and sculpting workshops, all in all we are a laid back camping, offering something a little different, we always try and deliver a top quality experience for our guests, and those who volunteer with us, we would love fun dynamic people to come and stay with us to help out.

We are specifically looking for someone who has experience with hospitality, as well as being flexible because ever... more inside

We live between Lagos and Vila do Bispo in the western Algarve, very close to the National Park with its world-class beaches.

Our place is ideal for people who would like to get involved in sustainable self-build projects or permaculture gardens, and spend time with us and our lovely dogs. The community here is something special, we're very sociable and there’s often live music or other events taking place.

In recent years we've had some great HelpXers staying with us and are looking to meet others who can help us continue the good work. We're looking for mature, self-motivated people preferably with building or gardening experience – of course other skills are also welcome.

Work arrangements are pretty flexible and by agreement - for example, 4 hours work a day, 5 or 6 days a week with a meal provided on work days has worked well in the past.

You’ll have comfortable accommodation, and access to cooking facilities, a compost toilet, a washing machine and outside showe... more inside

SORRY: WE ARE NOT HOSTING AT THE MOMENT!!!

(versão portuguesa em baixo)

This is a family-like ambience. We're sharing a house and working this friends' land for two years at north Portugal at a north facing slope. Fruit and native trees and terraced vegetable gardens. Testing theory and trying to balance it with practice. We're also volunters. Looking for people with particular skills to give us inspiration or non-experienced people who would really like to try. Musical instruments very welcome. Work options include gardening, forestry, building and cooking. Accomodation should be on a separated guest-house which has it's own heating and a small stove. Volunters can also work on maintaining and improving that house and it's surroundings. Bring your own sleeping bag if you can. We can have meals together, which are mostly vegetarian but not strict. Low eletric power at this moment. Great places for walking around with mountains and rivers with natural pools nearby. The marker o... more inside
