We live at the Northern end of Great Barrier Island. Boat access and walk in only available. We have a large terraced hillside covered in permaculture garden and orchard. We need assistance building rock retaining walls, chipping, general landscaping, and gardening. In return we offer waterfront living, with kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, walking, in a remote and beautiful part of N.Z. Ideally suited for two people, as can be quite isolating. Accessibility to get here from Auckland City, would be at your expense, the sealink barge does frequent trips across the gulf, and their are also planes that land on island. We would pick you up upon arrival. There is no reticulated power on the island, and we believe in living pretty simply - albeit with solar power and eating from our plentiful gardens.

We have rare and large quality heritage poultry breeds. There are 14 different breeds in flocks of 6-8 hens and hatch around 80 chicks each week. These are grown to 12 weeks at which point the pullets are ready for a new home. Usually to backyard flock owners or life-stylers. We also sell fertile eggs which are packed and sent all over NZ.
Please visit our website to view our beautiful poultry and see what we do.
We are situated 5 minutes from Waiuku, 8 minutes from Kariotahi Beach and 35 minutes from Auckland Airport.
Help is needed with feeding, watering and general care of birds; cleaning coops, hutches and brooders, collecting, sorting and packing eggs, hatching chicks.
Accommodation and meals are in our family home. Daily hours are flexible so that extended weekend breaks can be taken if desired. Would prefer a commitment of at least two weeks as it takes time to teach methods and routines.

Hi there,

We have a lovely home with plenty of space 20 mins from Piha and other west coast beaches. Set amongst the bush, our home is the perfect place to explore west Auckland from. We have a spare bedroom with a double bed - so perfect for a couple.

We would be looking for some help with gardening, digging, general home maintenance etc as we have a large property that we are in the process of subdividing.

We are really flexible with work - we have had previous help ex who would work a full day for us and then have a full day off. We could potentially lend you a car in the weekend so you can explore West Auckland.

We love hosting people from around the world and are avid travellers ourselves.
