Cottage and rambling, overgrown orchard and gardens, chooks in one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastal villages, right across the road from the water. Walking distance to lovely village with art galleries, coffee shop, library.
Growing bananas and other fruit and veges. Need strong willing workers, to help with gardening, clearing, tree care and general property maintenance, some carpentry skills would be helpful. You need some knowledge and experience of gardening. Non-smokers only, household is not strictly vegetarian but definitely vegetarian-friendly. Hi we a are a couple in our thirtys with a young family. We are managing a dairy farm in Waipu just thirty minutes south of Whangarei. We are well traveled and love meeting new people, we have a great relationship with the farm owners and the farm is a busy but fun place to work.

We are looking for some help on the farm as we are coming into calving. Jobs could involve milkings, weed control and shed hygiene plus more.

We live 5 minutes drive from the beach similar distance to Waipu village. Heaps of fast WiFi data for your use. We're keen to make your stay enjoyable and include you with our day to day life if what we're doing interests you or suggest fun things for you to do around the area.

We just expect 4 hours a day and will include the above plus three meals and you will have your own room with double bed. We are looking for someone longer term if we can find the right person.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to hearing from you.

I run a small personalised trekking and Farmstay business situated in Waimamaku, which is in the Hokianga, just west of Opononi.

When the weather permits we work with the horses most days (this can range from simply cleaning out the paddocks through to training or exercising), riding is voluntary and always depends on the bookings and business commitments - staying with us does not guarantee that you will get to go on a trek as often we are having personalised bookings for smaller groups, however if you are specifically coming to try out one of our treks please make sure you include this request in your application, as we have a special offer for our Wwoofers.

Most of the food is grown on the property, hunted from the back door or caught from the ocean just down the road. We have 50 acres of grass and a little more in native bush and you will often hear Kiwi's during the night here.

Work can be extremely varied, you may have days where you will be maintaining the property,... more inside

Hi, we have lived on this beautiful property for the past 19 years, our Daughter has flown the nest.
so have some space to accommodate the right minded people traveling the globe on their big OE.
I remember though days myself!
We live 10 minutes out of Whangarei towards the Tutakaka coast where there are fabulous beaches only 10 minutes from our property.
We have a small herd of A2/A2 DNA tested dairy cows which we milk once a day! If you have never milked a cow , this is your chance.
We have various things that we need help with so i'm open to any amicable arrangement that will suit.
Gardening, post and rail fencing, using machinery, chainsawing fire wood and tree trimming, moving cattle from paddocks and painting. That's the outside jobs, inside are way more domesticated the usual things!
Give us a call if you would like to talk about things. :)
thanks.
Christine and Walter.

This is a small owner-built BBH backpackers lodge on the north side of Hokianga Harbour. We have accommodation and camp sites for a maximum of 20 guests per night.

You can travel here by car, motorbike or bicycle and you can get here by bus once or twice a week. Contact us for information about the bus service.

We have some environmental weeds which we need help to eradicate. This work can be quite repetitive but some people find it relaxing or even meditative. Also you'll be outside in nature and helping to protect a large piece of mature regenerating native bush. Come and work amongst the piwakawaka (fantail birds) and help the New Zealand bush.
Sometimes there are other jobs like window cleaning, raking leaves or moving firewood.

Pauline and Phil Evans have been running the hostel as a small family business for 25 years. They moved to New Zealand from Australia in 1981. Their son, daughter-in-law & grand-son now help with the hostel.

This is a small property (1 acre) within an ecovillage. The property has a broad range of heritage fruit trees, a large vege garden and a subtropical orchard. The house is straw bale and there is a small light-earth cabin. Food provided is vegan/vegetarian.

Current work ranges from building work, vegetable gardening, plant propagation, removal of weed species, developing paths in the food forest, creating swales, making curtains, mosaic tiling and various other landscaping and projects within the property.

Please note only all-natural products can be used in the bathroom as the grey water system waters the bananas and tamarillos. Any chemicals used in the bathroom will end up in the food supply.

We are situated in the beautiful Kaipara district, on a cattle farm. The Kaipara is the gateway to the North, so it's a great place to start if you're new to New Zealand! We have two children (12 and a 9 year old), a cat, Sydney and a dog called Jack. We live in a modern house overlooking the stunning Kaipara harbour. We are only 5 minutes from the famous "Kauri Museum". We are 40 minutes from both the west coast and east coast beaches. Jobs could include such activities as assisting on the farm - moving stock, animal health, farm maintenance or helping with gardening and/or house work. We are currently building a wood/bike shed so help with that would be great too. You can work either a half day or a full day with equal full days off. Work is in exchange for free accommodation which is with us, and meals offering typical kiwi cuisine! We are quite remote therefore our farm stay would suit a visitor who has a vehicle. It is difficult to see the sites around here as public transport ... more inside

There are two horses, five cows ,4 pigs, chickens, and a small flock of sheep. Chooks and pigs need daily feed, the rest require an occasional check. We also have two cats that live indoor and outdoor. There is an organic veggie garden for your enjoyment. The cupboards are stocked with dry goods. Beautiful bush walks and quiet surroundings.

We are currently looking for capable house sitters from July 23rd until September 1st. Terms are negotiable. This is an alternative homestead that has excellent systems in place, plenty of electricity and wifi. Come early for a proper handover and stay longer if desired. Adventure is awaiting you!
