We live just out of town, on a small farm, with 12 horses, 3 dogs, a cat, 4 calves and many chickens. We handle our horses using Natural Horsemanship principles.
There is always plenty of interesting work to do. We need help with mowing, gardening, feeding chickens and helping with the horses.
We are a drug free and cigarette free home, although we often enjoy a wine with our meals. We can cope with almost any dietary or cultural preferences, singles or couples. We have hosted many international students and visitors over the past 20 years.
We live out of town but we go into town 3-4 times a week, and we are partially self sufficient. We are happy to show you around our district and our multicultural town during your stay.
We are happy for you to contact us by phone - mobile numbers are usually best.

Hi there. This is a great opportunity for a cultural exchange. We have an organic farm in the Yarra Valley. We are looking for help in exchange for accommodation and food. We'd love to hear from people of any nationality. We speak several languages including French, German and Japanese. Most of the work will be outside on the farm, working in the gardens or on the property, fixing and painting or weeding the garden beds. We'd love to hear from couples who are travelling together - or even groups of friends. We have lots of rooms. Plus we have plenty of native Australian animals including kangaroos, wombats, lots of birdlife, plus the occasional koala. We have had volunteers working with us in the past and we are a great team! We are vegan/whole-food/plant-based and non-smoking. We'd like to hear from volunteers with similar diets or at least those who'd love to try healthy living. We look forward to hearing from you.

Experience in cleaning to a high standard and some kitchen skill is necessary and other skills like carpentry, chain sawing, weeding, maintaining orchards and veggie gardens, mowing on a ride on, general farm and outdoor clean ups and maintenance would be great!

And also experience with Mac computers, social media, video and general office type work would be most welcomed too.

Hi all! We live on a classic 'Australian bush'property on Phillip Island, about 2 minutes away from amazing beaches and about 6 into the main town (Cowes). A friend mentioned HelpX to me, asking if I could do with some help with this house and property, I hadn't even thought of something like this before and ABSOLUTELY yes I'd love some help! I have 5 gorgeous-kooky-fun loving kids (15, 13, 10, 8 and 3)a big house, nice chunk of land and I am 1 woman. UPDATE. We don’t currently have a bed or room but we have plenty of space for camping with use of the bathroom and kitchen facilities.
We are always going here and there, we are active and out and about. Our helper would be welcome to become a part of our family, hang with us, go surfing. You’re welcome to borrow surf boards and give it a go but you would have to hire a wetsuit from the local surf shop), hiking, exploring. My kids would enjoy the cultural exchange and diversity.
Work wise, I would love and appreciate help with my o... more inside

Raymond Island is a great place to spend time in Spring. 2000sq metre property set in natural bushland on a small Island in the Gippsland Lakes system. There are Koalas, Kangaroos, Echidnas, Kookaburras and many other birds. Fishing is great. We have a bedroom in our home that would be private for you. We are a retired couple and in return for accommodation we would like 4 hours per day help with the garden and general maintenance around the house. We need people with cooking, handyman and gardening skills. Raymond Island is about 4 hours travel time east of Melbourne by public transport. There is local transport available.

We have a holiday home overlooking Willson's Prom in South Gippsland. We are looking for help to maintain our property and return the bushland area of the property to its natural state for the local fauna and flora. The project we are working on at the moment is clearing vines and introduced weeds and replacing them with native plants. Since the property is on a steep hill it can be physically challenging work. The upside is the views are amazing.

The property is 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne CBD and there is a bus from the CBD which takes around 3 hours. We can collect you from Fish Creek which is a 10 minute drive away.

We are also about 10 minutes drive to Sandy Point. A great beach for both swimming and surfing. Pete is a keen surfer and would be happy to head you in the right direction if you are keen to try the local surf. If the surf is no good you would be welcome to join us for a walk on the beach with our dogs.

We would love to share our home and local area wit... more inside
