We are an elderly couple who have "downsized" to a new place, faced with a wild and untidy garden. Help needed to tidy up, redesign for easier maintenance, plant trees, cut and chop firewood, and help with vintage car. Saw and axe skills useful.
Helper to live as family. We are omnivorous, non smoking, and enjoy a glass of wine. We are widely travelled and enjoy meeting new people. Our house is in quiet rural woodland, about 1km from bus route into Inverness. Helper is offered a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom. We have a border collie who loves walks.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HELPER TO ASSIST WITH YOUNG DOG AND HOUSEWORK...ANY TIME IN 2019

We are in rural Herefordshire, close to the border of Wales - a beautiful and interesting area, just a two mile walk from the historic town of Ledbury and the train station which links with Hereford, Birmingham, etc.The rolling countryside and orchards offer lots of walks so it will be especially nice for those of you who enjoy hiking and there is also a pub right next door! If you have a car you will have much more freedom to explore, however there is a local bus service and a train station about 20 minutes walk...so if you enjoy walking and quiet countryside this is the place to be! There is a bike here that you are welcome to borrow, but be warned...it is very hilly here!

The house is clean and very pretty and it has a small garden. Experience with dogs is essential as we would like you to mainly to keep an eye on this very lively young spaniel pup who will be a year old in April 2019, w... more inside

We are a couple.. Tom (38) and Jacqui (33).

We have been given planning permission for a dwelling under the new Wales-wide 'One Planet Development' policy, which offers people the chance to build a home 'in the open countryside' if they can demonstrate a commitment to various low-impact, environmentally responsible principles while also providing for the monetary needs of the household with a 'land-based livelihood' (in our case a tree nursery and processed fruit business) and the production of a large proportion of one's own food and fuel etc.

We like to think we can offer you a good return for your help, and that your contribution will be honoured. We have a good library, are passionate about what we do, discuss regenerative agriculture often and are well connected with other producers in the area. You will hopefully learn a lot with us.

We currently stay in a rented barn on a neighbouring farm. It's a one-room situation so unfortunately we can't offer accommodation her... more inside

I will not currently be needing any volunteers until Spring 2019 at the earliest.

Shoreham by Sea is on the south coast 6 miles west of Brighton. The houseboat moorings are on tidal mudflats and accessible from the towpath. The sea is less than 200 yards and is popular with kite and windsurfers.

The work is all involved with the maintenance and renovation of historic boats which are mostly used as houseboat accommodation. I use a minimum of new materials, aiming to create environment friendly, aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically functional living spaces. I currently am responsible for 7 boats over 30 foot and struggling with the work load. The joy of working with houseboats, (especially ours where we own our mooring plots) is that they are not subject to planning permission or buildings regulations. This allows for freedom in design which has greatly influenced my constructional style.

My design criteria are both aesthetic and engineered. I like to think my work has ... more inside

We are a friendly, ordinary family who moved to this beautiful remote village in Scotland some 10 years ago, to enjoy a better quality of life than we had in Stockport. We are currently building our house, a traditionally built, all masonry three storey property on a lovely plot of land overlooking the Sound of Mull. Unusually, our house is truly self-built, as we are carrying out all of the work ourselves and are not involving subcontractors apart from very specific items, for example, we brought in a subcontractor to excavate 2000 tons of rock from the site, where we have built our basement.
As there is a huge variety of different disciplines being employed in building the property, it is a fantastic opportunity for somebody to learn all about an enormous range of different construction techniques, and will include disciplines such as bricklaying, joinery, electrical work, plumbing, drainage and other skills.
We are offering the opportunity for someone to come and assist... more inside

I own a large self contained unit within a co-housing community on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon. We own about 2.5 hectares of beautiful land, with orchard, swimming pool, tennis court and other amenities. Some of us have our own organic vegetable plots.

I would like one or two volunteers (non-smokers please) to help with a variety of jobs, mostly gardening work on my vegetable plot or other outside tasks, or sometimes helping with practical jobs indoors such as decorating or cleaning.

In exchange for accommodation and meals, I would like approx 4-5 hours' work per day, which can be organised flexibly according to our respective needs.

You will have your own comfortable bedroom (or shared with another Helpx volunteer, if agreed). There is plenty of good quality fresh food to which you can help yourself for breakfast and lunch, and a cooked meal in the evening. I am mostly vegetarian and can cater for other diets by arrangement.

I can offer some help with English i... more inside

Croft 17 is located just a short walk away from Singing Sands beach on the NW side of Eigg with wonderful views of the Isle of Rum. I live on the croft with my teenage son who is at High School in Mallaig. I am skipper and owner of sailing charter yacht and am away during much of the season

The croft has currently 26 sheep, 9 chickens, and a cat. There is also a polytunnel and garden where we grow veggies for ourselves and the yacht charter. My croft is currently in the developmental stages towards becoming a working croft designed around permaculture principles including mixed woodland, forest garden, pasture.
Longterm building projects include a house, a barn and a wellbeing/yoga space. Volunteer tasks involve maintaining the croft in its current state and participating in bigger projects to attain the vision. Day to day tasks involve looking after the animals, working in the polytunnel/garden, cooking, cleaning, and general maintenance. Larger tasks involve building a... more inside
