The first project in Bocas/Isla Colon is on our waterfront property! We need builders to help us create a break wall to protect our property from strong waves and help us complete a fence. We also need Farmers to help us Create a compost bin, that rats can not get to, a green house/nursery for our starter garden with herbs and veggies, to plant additional fruit trees on our patio! On our 2nd property we need permaculture specialists to help us care for our jungle property to prevent erosion and to begin to build a butterfly sanctuary along with a small garden with root veggies including yucca, turmeric, garlic and more. We are a recently opened hostel located in the heart of El Valle de Anton, in Panama. This area is the crater of an inactive volcano with beautiful wildlife and hiking. It is famous for its sloths, tucan, and golden frog. On top of that, it medicinal mud springs and the Sleeping Indian Princess Mountain.

The hostel has 2 full time staff and can run by itself, but we are looking for general help and creative people who have experiences in wall art (graffiti, wall murals, etc), painting, or handy with tools. We have a lot of empty wall we want to fill, and to create a nice pallet garden in the back area.

There are no strict rules, volunteers are expected to help 3-4 hours a day and the rest of the time they can explore this wonderful town. Accommodations are provided along with breakfast. We also have free wifi. The hostel has a bar area, dorm, 2 social areas, and a shared kitchen.

Needs to be outgoing, comfortable with all types of people and have an easy going attitude. English and Spanish speaking a must! Someone with common sense and survival skills would go down well- would be handy to know how to use a machete!
