Kennedy Bay is a beautiful lake location settled in a hidden bush valley overlooking one of Rotorua's beautiful pristine lakes. LIving here you can learn about real NZ. This home is idyllic wild, beautiful and peaceful surrounded by bush and lakes. You will wake up to the native bird calls and spend the night amazed by the stars.

The lodge looks onto the lake, nearby are natural hot pools and bush walks. The lodge has three separate renovated cabins so helpX people get their own space with shared eating, lounge and dining areas. (Two queen beds and one single)

I'm looking for people to help me improve sort out storage in the new shed and perhaps help with some landscaping. This could include building a small retaining wall or deck which is fun.

I welcome qualified builders, carpenters, tilers, brickies, cabinetmaker or anyone with a skill or a trade. I will buy good material to support your project. It's flexible how you choose to work. Busy times might require you to ... more inside

We are looking for helpers from about late February

If you are looking for a place near Rotorua join Margaret and Owen at Lake Tarawera in a 61 yr. old cottage with an unattached separate sleep out where you would stay. The sleep out has a double and single bed, toilet and shower.(Photo 4).

We are about a 25 minute drive from the closest shops at Rotorua, a thermal tourist area. Own transport is essential as there is no bus service out here. Make sure your fuel tank is near full.

Rotorua is on the 'Pacific Ring of Fire' making it an active geothermal area. There is an abundant list of outdoor activities available such as tramping, camping, kyaking to name a few. Adventure tourism is an added attraction for many. If you seek a night on the town there is that as well.

We live across the road from the lake. We started a organic community garden on the lake edge reserve growing vegetables, flowers and a community spirit. We live a simple laid back lifestyle offering health... more inside

#next HelpX guests required 11 February

Hi - Kenny, Lizzy and their youngest son,16,live on a lifestyle block on the shores of the beautiful and enchanting Ohiwa Harbour. We could do with some help to keep the place ticking along...feeding chickens, walking the dogs (Billie is a retired friendly cross breed, Tui is a mad young hound), grass cutting (ride on mower), painting, operating scrub cutter, gathering firewood, spraying weeds (its a necessity here). In return you have free use of kayaks and bikes and although its best if you have a car, we can provide transport when possible in and out of town...15 mins from opotiki, 20 mins from whakatane..5 mins from beach. You'll have your own privacy in our cosy sleepout and of course we have free wi-fi. We do eat a lot of VEGETARIAN food, but cater for meat lovers too.
We usually live in the SUNNIEST corner of NZ , have great beaches, good surfing, wonderful bush walks and the water is warm from November until the end of April.

Hello travelers,

I am a young working professional living on lifestyle block just out of the city (5 minutes).

I am looking for someone to help with small jobs around the place. Roughly 1-2 hours a day in exchange for free accommodation and where I can I will make an effort to show you why the Bay of Plenty is so incredible.

We are a family of four who grow and sell quality vegetables with love and without nasties! We are currently converting to organic with Organic Farm NZ and aim to be fully certified organic by mid 2020. Our property is based on 1.6 ha and approximately a third of that has been developed into vegetable production so far. This growing season (2018/19) is our first year of full time vege growing! We will provide volunteers with a large shared room in our farm house containing a double bed, two single beds and a couch and three meals a day in return for your work which could range from sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting, pruning, washing veges etc. We ask that volunteers do an average of 5 hours work for us a day and stay for a minimum of 10 days and up to 2-3 weeks (depending on our next booking). At the end of the main growing season in May we will be building a 40 ft container home to live in so anybody with building skills we welcome to help us.
