We are a family of four (two small children) and we live on a lifestyle block in the beautiful Waiohine Valley. We like good food and fresh air. At the end of the road is an entrance to the Tararua Forest park for some great tramping/walking and a cool swing bridge across the river where there is great swimming. On our block we have a small herd of cattle and flock of sheep.
We are in the process of landscaping, developing an orchard, developing our vege garden and maintaining existing gardens.
We have a separate guest room with ensuite (shown in the photos). The accomodation best suits a couple. We are looking for guests to help with winter planting, general farm routines (feeding out to cattle, stacking wood) and gardening (for an average of 4 hours per day) in exchange for food and accommodation.
We are 15 mins drive from Greytown and Carterton.
Non-smokers only please.
Please let us know if you have any special food requirements or allergies which might need to b... more inside

Kia Ora Koutou

We are YOUNG couple in our early 40s with four children aged 16, 14, 11 and 10. We manage a large sheep and cattle station on the Coast of the lower North Island with 20,000 stock units of sheep and beef cattle. Check out the station facebook page "owahanga station" for more information.

We are looking for helpers to come and stay with us and help out with farm tasks, gardening, farm maintenance and general tasks around the home. There is lots of variation in the types of jobs that we need help with and anyone with practical skills and experience would be super. Working with livestock does require skills and experience so sometimes it is not possible for helpers to work with the stock much but that is not always the case and at certain times of the year, there will be plenty of work with stock to do. However, there are plenty of other tasks to do like cutting and stacking wood, painting, weed spraying and the like if there isn't much happening with stock.

We offer a working experience on a traditional small farm and horse stud, living in one of the oldest homesteads in the Wairarapa.

We are a 200 acre farm located 20km east of Masterton, with large gardens, lawns and grass tennis court overlooking a large lake.

There is always plenty of general maintenance required in the stables, surrounding gardens and buildings and clearing overgrown areas around the lake.

Our large two story homestead has seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and several living areas for just us, a young 45 year old couple and three dogs, so there is plenty of space. We are 20 minutes drive from town. Leisure activities include boating on the lake, tennis and horse riding. Cellphone coverage is limited but we have good internet access.

We also host weddings and private functions, mainly in the summer months, so entertaining is a big part of our lives. We enjoy socialising and have travelled extensively ourselves so are keen to offer this unique experien... more inside

Hi, we live on a very small lifestyle block with a few sheep, two cats called Harry and Frankie, 8 km's from Feilding and a 15 minute drive to Palmerston North.

We're both in full time employment and both our daughters are away at University and our son lives in Feilding so would suit people who are fairly independent and don't mind being here on their own. We are home over the weekend though. Local attractions include the Manawatu Gorge walk, Feilding Coach House Museum, Palmerston North Esplanade and a variety of walks. Plus it is only 30 - 40 minutes drive to the beach.

There are always odd jobs we need some help with for 2 - 3 hours a day, whether it's in the garden, re-decorating, housework or cooking. We love to try new dishes and love meeting people from other cultures/countries.

We can pick-up from airport/train or bus if required.

Hello, we are Rachel and Dennis. We live with our daughter Connor, aged 15 and son Hunter aged 13, on a lifestyle block on the edge of Pukaha Mt Bruce, a native bird reserve, as a result we receive visits from many native birds including Kaka, Tui and Kereru to our block. Also in the area are bush walks and some fishing.
We have a variety of animals, a friendly dog who lives outdoors, a cat who is mostly an outside pet, a house cow with her calves, horses, a small flock of sheep, a bunch of chickens and 2 hives of bees.

We are working towards becoming a self sustaining property and as a result at times we have interesting projects on the go such as cheese making, hide curing, etc, and a philosophy that if we can buy it in the shop, surely we can make it (although sometimes not, as it turns out). We enjoy good food and people who like to cook are always welcome. Please inform of any dietary requirements.

We have many projects including building, gardening, firewood and fencin... more inside

We live on a beautiful sheep and beef farm in the South Wairarapa. We are situated 15 minutes south of the wine village Martinborough and 5 minutes from Lake Ferry. Cape Pallier is 20 minutes away where you can see breathtaking rustic scenery, climb the historic steps to the lighthouse and see a huge seal colony. There is a train the travels from Wellington to Featherston and we can pick you up from there.

We have a little coffee and gift store on the farm which is open Thursdays to Sunday. We make great coffee and fresh food and is on a popular tourist route to the coast.

We will sometimes need help in the kitchen, barista and with waitressing

There is always gardening and cleaning windows on the farm.
We have 3 children including one very sporty outdoorsy boy and often have au pairs and nanny to help with them as Guy and I are both working at times

We can guarantee a great experience as we enjoy have cool, active and positive people around.

Hiya,

Iím a bar manager in Foxton Beach. The house is two bedrooms. My room and a spare room with a double bed, bunk and single mattress.
The house is an old 1900s house on a quarter acre section based in Shannon.
There are a few local attractions in Shannon including Owlcatraz (an owl sanctuary) and it is the white water rafting capital of NZ. Further to this, about a 15minute drive away is the beautiful Foxton Beach. 30 minutes from Palmerston North and 10 minutes from the local city of Levin.

I bought this house a year ago and am looking for help with the gardens, painting and decorating and building.
In exchange, I can offer free short term accommodation and food.

I am an easy going person who is very sociable. I love meeting new people and have done my fair share of travelling before settling in Shannon.
I have one 11 year old staffy and a cat who are both extremely friendly.
