26 hectares of rolling grazing adjacent to a mangrove tidal estuary with beautiful harbour views. Fishing is available from the bottom of the farm. There is a kayak for use. I rear calves each spring and I raise other beef cattle. The property is located 20 minutes north east of Kaitaia. The accommodation is simple and comfortable and inside the main house at present. A current project is to develop separate accommodation in a nearby barn. Other projects include planting windbreaks, fencing, feeding calves, general stock work and household tasks including cooking. Camping is an option. I am needing some landscaping done so would welcome some help.

We need help with a tiny-house on wheels project for our Wwoofer accommodation on a coastal life-style block near Kerikeri/Bay of Islands. If you are experienced as carpenter/joiner/cabinet maker or an expert DIY person, you would be a great addition to the team. Good command of English or German required. Fishing from our pedal boats, swimming and hiking are great as off-work activities here. Let me know if you are interested to spend some time in the Far North with us in April/May.

We have moved up north to Kerikeri to a 2+ acres life-style block. Since October we have built a large veggie garden and a chicken coop. Maintenance and landscaping projects are always waiting for help. We are a couple, have cats and are a non-smoking household. The house is very comfortable, has stunning views. It is directly on the beach of Kerikeri Inlet, so you can enjoy a swim in the morning or after work (or fish or use the paddle board). If you like working out, then...great! We are currently taking a break from Helpx for a while but we may have paid work available for the right people either hourly, or potting on contract in our nursery where you are paid per plant, mostly 25litre & 45litre bags. It is preferred that you can drive a manual vehicle around the nursery (off road). You will need to be able to work neatly & quickly. You should easily be able to make $19-$21 per hour, up to $30 is possible, & has been achieved often before if you are good. Longer term stays only considered. As you will be the only Helpxers, we suggest 2 hrs, & you look after yourself. (RATHER THAN THE STANDARD HELPX DEAL)-for this you would need your own transport too) We provide unlimited free wifi that's pretty reliable too. We have a 6ha block, of which 4ha is in nursery and garden centre, remainder orchard, veges, ornamental planting. A small stream goes through the middle which we have planted, its great in summer to lie in the shade under a tree. A variety of job... more inside

Update; Hi Helpers, Is there anyone available in Northland from now until the the 6th of February? There are windows to clean and some weeding to do.
Would you like to stay in Russell, Bay of Islands? I have a lovely piece of land in Orongo Bay only 3km from this picture-postcard town. Close by are beaches, walks and opportunities to get out on the water. There are kayaks and bikes to use plus a room to stay in or space for camping. I live by myself in the house. I have a dog, Billy who is getting old. On the land also lives Keith, a local chef and all-round nice guy, living in his caravan set up on site. We have gardens of various types and always have interesting projects on the go.
I work as a teacher four days a week and need help with jobs such as weeding around the plants, and setting up a camping area. I love getting out there myself and would show you what to do. I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey.

Our home has a great location - panoramic sea views just by a sandy beach. It is a short beach walk (or 2 min drive) to Paihia wharf and cafes and the Russell ferry, while a 1 hr coastal walk leads to the port of Opua.
I welcome you to help in a range of gardening, property maintenance, and housework tasks - and right now I'd value help with some digital know how - about my Android phone and challenges with my MS Outlook email processes!
My preference is for two people travelling together who have good practical skills. Come for 4-5 days or longer.
I enjoy discussing timebanking and permaculture and I'm a passionate advocate for the value of zero waste as a doorway to building community and regenerating nature in my local area. Part of my life is spend on maintenance and development of a small food forest in my garden, part advocating for Zero Waste and Fair Trade, and part overseas using my skills for others. In recent years I have undertaken volunteer assignments in Pa... more inside
