We are a family of six with three children still at home. Our children are homeschooled and together we manage the sheep and beef farm that we live on. The farm is very isolated on a island, it is very beautiful and wild. We like help with gardening and general farmwork. There is opportunity for fishing, hunting deer and pigs, kayaking and bushwalking. We like to meet people from all around the world. You would need to get on well with children and large dogs and be happy away from technology for the duration of your stay. We are a 3/4 hour four wheel drive trip, 20 minute boat ride and then a 2 and a half hour drive to either Nelson or Blenheim so if you come here you need to bring all necessary items needed for the duration of your stay as you would not be able to shop until you leave. Because of the isolation and the cost of getting here we generally like people to stay between three to six weeks.

We have a high country sheep and beef station running 5500 merino sheep and 400 fattening cattle and some irrigation of crops around the homestead.
We are all ways looking for someone to join our friendly family environment and help out with general farm work, help around the house, family, gardens etc.
Helpers must be non smokers, practical, outdoors type and like animals, it would be an advantage to have their own transportation as we are 60km out of Blenheim but not essential.
4/5 hours help for food and accommodation.

We are an active couple keen on gardening and maintaining our smallholding.
Dudley restores and drives old horse drawn carriages and runs a working museum. We have a small rural property with veggie garden, chooks, dogs, cats, birds, a few sheep and 3 horses.
Not been in the property long so there is work to do in the garden, cutting firewood, building, and interior painting on rainy days. There is also daily tasks such as feeding animals.

Lynda involved with local coumtry music and enjoys quiz nights.

You will get a very warm welcome here, its nice to meet people from all over the world, helpers who have any experience working with horses would be great, but anyone willing to help is welcome.

You have your own room in the house, with a shared bathroom.

We can pick up from Blenheim.

We live on a 5 acre lifetsyle block outside of Blenheim. We homeschool our 4 children and have horses, dogs, pigs and chickens(they are all pets). Some of us are vegetarians and some carnivores(we agree to disagree). My husband farms a large farm 20 minutes away and has blocks of land throughout Marlborough that he farm. We are looking to have the world come to us and to help me in the kitchen(as I am a disastrous cook),the garden and with the kids. I would like to spend a bit more one on one time with each child so I am looking for someone to spend time with the kids while I focus on one or two children in regards to their formal education. We live a two minute walk to the Wairau River where we often swim with our German Shepard and live on a lagoon that has walking tracks. Loads of space!!I also would love to do a bit more tramping but would love someone to accompany me and the kids:) If we sound like we are the type of people you would like to meet, please send me a message...... more inside

House by the sea with 2 horses, 2 weird cats and a spoodle. We have a vegie garden and orchard. We love food and eat really well.
We live close to the Queen Charlotte Track.

We sometimes need people for 3-7 days to pick up manure from our horses, or cut gorse, or spray weeds. Sometimes there are other things that need doing.... One thing though, we prefer good to pretty good english speakers, because it can get a little bit tiring otherwise.

We like to exchange 4 hours work per day for food and accommodation, and a few drinks too (OK, more than a few!).
We only have one spare bedroom with one double bed, but one person could sleep on the floor if they are not a couple. Search Ben Mcalpine on facebook for more of an idea of our lifestyle.
Lastly, we get many more inquiries from helpers than we need, and don`t always get time to reply to requests, even if you look great. So if you don`t hear back from us don`t let it get you down. We love our helpxers and wish we cou... more inside
