We are a small family with a 15-year-old son on a lifestyle block situated 30 minutes by road from Picton next to the sea. We have a dog, chickens, and sheep. We love having people come and stay and enjoy good healthy food.
A dinghy, bikes and fishing gear is available for your use. We are close to the start of the Queen Charlotte Walkway.
Accommodation is in a comfortable private sleepout close to the house although our house is open to you for everything else.
Work would possibly involve painting a gently sloping roof, some tree/ hedge pruning, water blasting or fencing. We try to tailor the work to suit the helper's skills.
Helpers need to be able to work independently of us and we would expect you not to work longer than 4 hours per day. Help with dishes etc is always gratefully accepted.
We are interested in a helper from December onwards but not over Xmas/ New Year time.

We (Adrian & Jo) have a small family owned vineyard and wine company. We are in the Waihopai Valley, 23km from Blenheim.
Our two younger boys are at university, so they are away studying for much of the year. At present our boys are away, so we have a room with two single beds available.
We live in a 150 year old school house and have one very friendly dog.
At present we require help with general vineyard work and gardening.
We enjoy meeting young people from other countries and showing them our part of the world. This is a popular tourist destination, which includes the Marlborough Sounds, many good walking tracks and a good place to cycle. We have a range of bicycles available and go to town by car regularly, but it is also helpful but not essential to have your own vehicle.

House by the sea with 1 horses, 1 weird cats and a spoodle. We have a vegie garden and orchard. We love food and eat really well.
We live close to the Queen Charlotte Track.

We sometimes need people for 3-7 days to pick up manure from our horses, or cut gorse, or spray weeds. Sometimes there are other things that need doing.... One thing though, we prefer good to pretty good english speakers, because it can get a little bit tiring otherwise.

We like to exchange 4 hours work per day for food and accommodation, and a few drinks too (OK, more than a few!).
We have a cosy private space for you to say in.
Lastly, we get many more inquiries from helpers than we need, and don`t always get time to reply to requests, even if you look great. So if you don`t hear back from us don`t let it get you down. We love our helpxers and wish we could take you all!!
