We are Lisa and Graham. We have half a hectare of pines, bush and gardens with a beautiful 1890s cottage we share with our cat overlooking the ocean just outside Dunedin. We are experienced hosts who like to meet new people from all over the world.

This time we are looking for helpers to help do some painting and gardening jobs - so ideally people who are ok to work on a ladder and have some experience painting (so who know how to use a roller and a brush).

We ask for 3 hours work a day per person (although we usually organize this in full days on and full days off) and in exchange we offer your own double bedroom with en suite bathroom (plus all meals, laundry, unlimited wifi etc.)

The cottage has amazing views - the photos of the sunrise and cruise ship were taken from our lounge :)

This hosting would suit a couple or friends who don't mind sharing a queen bed. People of any age and nat... more inside

We are a family of 5 living in Pisa Moorings on the side of Lake Dunstan, just outside Cromwell in Central Otago. The region has amazing outdoor pursuits with skiing, mountain biking, tramping, fishing and more on the doorstep.

Our children are 9, 8 and 5 and our house is a busy one! We enjoy the outdoors, and the kids are active with sports most evenings and weekends.

We offer a double room with your own bathroom, meals and free wi-fi in return for 4.5 hours a day (flexible hours). We would love to share our little piece of paradise, and give travellers the opportunity to stay and play in this beautiful part of the world. There are always jobs that could be attended to such as gardening, cleaning, maintenance, and painting.

At this stage we would prefer stays of up to 7 days.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks

I live in beautiful Dunedin and I'm looking for a single person for a week during June/early July. I need someone strong to split and stack firewood, waterblast concrete and other backyard tasks. Dunedin is the wildlife capital of New Zealand, with tours available to view albatross, sea lions, seals and penguins. Dunedin also has excellent museums, art galleries and libraries. There's a bus stop close to my house, but I can collect you from the airport or bus station.
