My property in on a hill in a Dunedin suburb which offers a lovely sea view. In the house are only me and my cat at the moment. By car it is about 7 minutes to the centre of town, there is also a direct bus line which doesn't take much longer. Dunedin has many beautiful beaches and surfing is popular. It is also home of albatrosses and yellow-eyes penguins. In town there are great cafes and restaurants to check out. There are also many walking/tramping tracks around town.

I can accommodate 2 people and ask for 4 hours of help a day. Times can be flexible, so that you have a chance of free days if you prefer. Help needed includes maintainance work around the house and gardening, maybe akso some painting. You get some decent home cooked meals but also have access to food to prepare yourself.

Welcome to Wanaka! Our friendly family has a home 7 minutes drive from Wanaka, in Albert Town. Albert Town is a mecca for river sports and biking in summer, and a great base for skiing and boarding in winter. We are a within walking distance of the Clutha and Cardrona Rivers and tracks.

We are landscaping our section and need help with general gardening, weeding, digging, planting etc. We are also slowly finishing off our home so there might be some handywork too. We have a busy family and welcome helpers who are good with kids and pets.

We have three young children, a mischevious young dog, and a brazen parrot. Accommodation is a double bedroom with ensuite - new and separate from the main house so you can retreat from the bustle of our family life when you need to.

It is not essential, but ideal for you to have a car as we are 7 minutes drive from Wanaka downtown. However, we are happy to pick you up from Wanaka township and there is a local cafe, store and res... more inside

Hello helpers,

*** Looking for helpers for weekly stints during mid/late November and early December. Also enquire about next year (Sooner the better as it gets very busy).***

We've been a helpx host for about 2 years, having seen it work so well with our neighbours over the past couple of years. It has been great fun and we've enjoyed meeting so many new people from around the world. Looking forward to meeting more, helping them explore the area and at the same time, sorting out our garden and helping out around the house.

We are located in the countryside near Arrowtown among beautiful NZ scenery with views of the Wakatipu basin. Our home is situated on a one hectare plot. By car, we are 5 mins to Arrowtown, 10 mins to Queenstown Airport and 20 mins to Queenstown. All pics are from and in our home.

Originally from the UK, we lived in Australia for 12 years and have now settled in NZ.
We are looking for ideally 2 people (a couple) to help us with landscaping, gar... more inside

CARPENTERS AND GARDENERS WANTED!!
We have a section on the outskirts of Lake Hawea township (no Lake view I'm afraid!). Lake Hawea is a 15 minute drive north of Wanaka. If you have transport that makes it much easier. We have one daughter, Minnie, who is 13 (2018). My husband Fin is a woodcraftsman. (He was a buddhist monk (Theravada tradition) for 17 years who still meditates). Skilled or unskilled help around and with the house is GREAT. Other jobs could be in the veggie garden, planting trees, general section maintenance, housework or cooking. I am a professional singer, marriage celebrant, support worker, puppeteer and Cook. We want people who like children obviously!! We look forward to meeting you and you enjoying the beautiful area we live in. We would like a trial period of one night to make sure everone gets on! We are easy-going but we like enthusiastic, friendly people who can work too! You will be expected to act as a guest in our home i.e. everyday chores (di... more inside

Hi there, I am looking for some general help for my small property (around 500sqm) in central Dunedin. Just some standard water blasting, spout clearing and weeding, maybe some garden planting too. I anticipate it will be three days of work, you will get your own floor in my house with your own bathroom, bedroom, living room and laundry facilities. You will be welcome to use the kitchen upstairs and the lovely outdoor deck, and
I look forward to hosting you with some beautiful kiwi food for all your meals while you are here including vegan and/or gluten free if required.

It is a lovely 15 minute walk to the city from my place and there is a great bus service too. Some experience in gardening and property services would be appreciated - this would definitely suit a couple.

We have had a lifestyle block for the last six years and want to make ourselves semi self sufficient. We are intending to have an Organic garden with composting and worm farm which we have started. We have also started breeding chickens, also bantams. Donald works 45 hours a week and I am unable to do any heavy work due to back surgery. we have a 3 bedroom home with plenty of room. We are looking for people who are interested in gardening and renovations, inside and out. We are in the process of making our fish pond bigger and trying to get on top of the vegetable garden, there is plenty of painting to do and a deck to build off the front of the house. We have two dogs 3 cats, and as I used to work as an Auxiliary Officer for the NZSPCA in Oamaru, most of our animals are rescues. We are very flexible with stays, from a couple of days to a few weeks. The lakes up to mount cook are not far from here, and a lot of camping areas are also close. We are 10/12 Km north of Oamaru 1.1/2 hou... more inside

lovely private setting - self contained flat, overlooking the harbour, facing east (no shower in the flat, composting toilet - you are most welcome to use the shower and washing machine in the house). We are only 10 minutes by car from the university and the centre of town.

We have a 7 acre lifestyle block that we are slowly transforming.

Doug teaches geography at the university. Edwina works from home and cares for Anoushka (8) and baby Saskia. Anoushka likes to climb trees and tell stories. Saskia is 18 months old and is very cute!

We would love to meet you - share some stories and bring some new ideas and energy to our place.

We like to relax and have our own space in the evening after 8.00.

Prefer if you have your own car but we can organise pick ups and can get you into town most days if you don't have a car!

We are looking for some help in November for 4-5 days to tidy garden, clean windows, kitchen etc.

We require 4.5 hrs per day (happy to block it, work a full day then have all next day off if that suits you so you can do day trips). 3 meals provided, and we ask for your help preparing these.

Work involves gardening, weeding, cleaning, windows - just general home stuff.

We have 2 children (5 and 8) . We love boating, biking, skiing and taking advantage of the amazing place we live in!

Kia ora Helpxers

We would love to share our home with you from this week on.

We are coming to the end of our building project. We would love to host some helpers who have some good energy to help us get through to the end of what has been a long project :-)

We would love help with a variety of things, helping tidy up now that the builders have gone, maybe some painting, or some landscaping work, pruning hedges, some gardening-weeding.

We grow a lot of our vegetables and many different types of fruit so it will be soon time to prepare the gardens, tunnel and glass house for planting.

We are just outside of Arrowtown. We have a small rural property.

We are about 10 minutes drive from Arrowtown, and 30 minutes drive from Queenstown. It would be best to have your own car as we are a long way from public transport

We offer 3 good meals a days in return for 4 hours of help, we are flexible, so you could help us for 8 hrs and take the whole of the next day to go exp... more inside

If you're with Helpx and looking for a Kiwi experience then maybe we can help each other. We could really do with some extra hands gardening, painting, small building jobs etc.

We live in an old home, built in 1877. It's pretty big and has a tennis court, indoor swimming pool, a giant snooker table, chickens, sheep and a lovely river and a great swing bridge too.
There are always lots of jobs to do.
We have several bedrooms, all have big beds and private bathrooms. WiFi too. We provide and cook all your meals.
In exchange if you can put in a mornings work we would be very grateful.
We are near the coast, north of Dunedin.

I am a retired restaurateur, have travelled extensively and enjoy swapping stories.... and rebuilding old Landrovers. And Julia is an importer and distributor of leather.

We have chickens, sheep, sometimes a horse and our cat.

Get in touch and see if we can work out some dates to suit you.

Regards,
Justin and Julia.
