We live in West Cornwall, in a rural setting, 4 miles from Lands End and 4 miles from the nearest surfing beach (Sennen).

Sorry - because we have several residents particularly vulnerable to covid 19, we are not currently taking volunteers - will update here when that changes.
We are a long established community of about 40 adults and 10 children, producing most of our own food on our mixed farm. We hand-milk our cows and produce occasional beef, and keep pigs, sheep, chickens and turkeys. Lots of fruit trees, soft fruit and vegetable beds, plus field-scale cereals and potatoes. Most of us eat communally in our purpose-built kitchen, with the keen cooks amongst us taking it in turns to prepare lunch and dinner each day.
We seek, very imperfectly, to be ecologically responsible in how we live here, and to take all significant decisions by consensus.
We live on the edge of a village, with a shop five minutes walk away, and two pubs a little further. Fifteen minutes the other way is Flatford Mill, a National Trust estate famous for its John Constable connections (he painted our house too!) and delight... more inside

** Because of the current situation, we are only accepting helpers who are already in the UK **

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery
and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings bef... more inside

We have decided to postpone opening to Work exchange until 17th October. This is because when we first open it won't be possible for any Work Exchange to be fully part of the community for the first 2 weeks, because the first two weeks you would have to be in isolation according to current rules in Scotland. Also, the number of people we will be able to host will be very reduced to allow these first two weeks of isolation. If you are looking to volunteer with us after this date feel free to get in contact, but be aware that any date that is organised may be subject to change depending to circumstances.

As a spiritual land-based community we live and work together as custodians of the island and cottages that were built for the northern lighthouse board in the 1860s. Our life is very practical whilst living with spiritual principles. Our main role here as cus... more inside

This is a homestay in the South of England; the house has 4 bedrooms and is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. I do receive a lot of requests from Helpxers and also from another similar volunteering website so I can not say yes to everyone but please do send me your travel dates and I will see if I have space. UPDATE: Please note that because of the world-wide spread of the Covid-19 virus I will not be taking any Helpers until later this year but of course you can message me about that, or about coming in 2021.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we wo... more inside

***Currently I have 1 helper (Female)until 18th Sept and room for either 2 single people or 2 couples***
About me..
I live on and work on my 5.25 acres of land and require help maintaining and developing various projects. My place is quite remote, with no facilities nearby. There is one bus on Fridays which goes to Tavistock. I go out a few times a week where you could join me or hitch a lift to do your own thing. On Monday and Tuesday I go to board-game nights in Plymouth and Exeter and Sundays I usually go hiking with the Ramblers.
The land..
In the garden I grow a variety fruit and vegetables such as blueberries, courgettes, artichokes peas and squash to name a few. I also have a newly planted orchard leading onto a more long term project where I intend to create a lake or two for fishing.
I have a small campsite (5 Pitches) from which there are beautiful views of the surrounding area. Eventually there will be a compostable toilet.
What's involved..
I am flexible when it ... more inside
