Katie and I own a small crofting home in the rural heart of the Scottish West Highlands in a small village called Lochailort.

During the summer months and peak times we offer Bed and Breakfast or Self / Catering to paying guests.

We are now looking for help (a couple ideally or a self motivated individual) with a minimum stay of 4 weeks or longer if possible.

We are remote, but the area is stunning and can be just the most beautiful in all seasons.

Your first passion will be a love for nature and the rural environment. We are 27 miles from the nearest town (Fort William), and surrounded by mountains and a small stream. The 'Harry Potter' Jacobite steam train passes on the railway just near our back door. The seaside is only 5 minutes away and we are fortunate to live in one of the most scenic parts of the North West Highlands.

During time off you are welcome to make use of our bikes and kayaks, or simply take to the hills with our two lovely dogs for company :-)

Help required for cleaning & gardening of a refined B&B in Durness, Highland.

We are running part of the period property as a B&B. Also we run a small gallery in the house representing our local artists and crafts people.

The house is situated on the coast overlooking the sea and with great views of the nearby mountains. The days of midsummer are almost endless, with almost twenty hours of daylight and nature is busy all around. The weather here is varied, with it possible to experience four seasons in one day! If you love nature and value open space and unspoilt places, then this is the perfect spot for you to work, be active with your outdoor activities, read, relax or simply recharge your self.

One of us spent many happy childhood years growing up here, before moving to the SE of England, the other has become familiar with Cape Wrath following ten years of family holidays in the area. We both decided to leave our jobs in London and our newly renovated suburban home for... more inside

Hi. Thanks for looking at our profile.

We are currently looking for help working round the garden and with log processing (with a machine)and stacking.

This is what we are about in a nutshell:

We are about nourishing mind, body & soil. Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast and group space with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. It is a place where guests can just "be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who comes to support what we offer. Expectations have a greater chance of being met for both parties which can lead to a more all-round, fulfilling experience.

We are looking for people who ... more inside

We run a small, attractive 4 bedroom guest house, in picturesque St Ives Cornwall, England, which has 4 stunning sandy beaches and a working harbour. Our guesthouse is very close to the surfing Porthmeor Beach. Its an idyllic place to spend a few weeks volunteering.

We are offering a part-time opportunity for 4-6 weeks,(depending on your availability), for 2020, ideally covering the period between Easter - Late October 2020.

We are flexible on timings and happy to discuss your preferred arrival and departure dates.

Approx 13-16 hours per week - spread across 6 mornings - usually sometime between 9.00 am - 12.00 pm depending on the schedule for that day.

Therefore, 1 full day per week, as well as all afternoons and evenings are free. Leaving plenty of down time for the volunteer, which is particularly good news for any EU citizens who may wish to seek a part-time temporary job, outside of guest house hours. Please note, if you wish to do this, apply for a National Ins... more inside

Hi
we have now acquired a 37' blue water boat with more covered accommodation
much more comfortable for an extended voyage but perhaps not quite as exciting as Zulu!
We will be launching her on the 31st July
Sailing Her from Porthmadog ( North Wales ) to Bude ( North Cornwall ) as soon as there is an appropriate weather window
Once at Bude we will spend a month commissioning Her for a voyage to Portugal ( Alvor )
The plan is to leave Bude around the 26th August and sail to the Scilly Islands and wait for a weather window to sail across the Bay of biscay straight to the North West tip of Spain then onwards to Oporto Portugal) stay there for a few days then Continue around Portugal to Alvor
Crossing the Bay of Biscay should take four to seven days during which we will be well off shore and out of sight of land (which may not be for the faint hearted ) obviously great care will be taken to ensure an easy comfortable passage but it still is not a voyage to undertake ... more inside

Hello from Dave and Jan!
DO YOU REALLY LOVE DOGS? WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE WITH US AS PART OF OUR FAMILY?
We have availability from mid August , through September to the end of October.
We have 3 lovely dogs, chickens , ducks, pigs, sheep and turkeys.
Our house is a dog hotel, with dogs staying with us for their holidays. The dogs are all in the house with us, so we prefer you to have some experience with dogs. Hi.
We run a busy pub in the Cotswolds just outside Stroud. We have a lot of events here, and music a few times a week, we have a sweet garden area which is in need of love and constant care.
Looking for one or two people to come and stay while enjoying the area for a couple of weeks or so. We have one private room that would be your own, a shared bathroom and living space.
We have dogs and sometimes have friends dogs stay, so enjoying the local area while exercising the dogs may be needed.
Lotte is having a total knee transplant in August so we re looking to someone help more in the house so Miles can look after the pub.
Other work involves gardening, cleaning, painting and some general decor as well as helping feed the working family here.
Friendly family set up, we have six children but only one at home at the moment. We shop well from local markets, and like to use local produce where ever possible. We try to eat as a family, often with friends and staff and am ha... more inside

*****We are now accepting helpers for the 2019 season*****

Our farm started in May 2017. We grow vegetables, herbs and edible flowers for chefs and restaurants in Cambridge and London. Our produce is grown and harvested with attention to detail so that we can provide our customers with the freshest, highest quality produce possible. We grow some British staples, and experiment with some more exotic varieties, so you’ll have a chance to learn about a wide range of vegetables.

Our heavy horses Bill and Ben provide the power for all of our field work. The equipment used on the farm was imported from our Amish friends in Sugar Creek, Ohio. Although this might make us look like a historical farm these are in fact amazing pieces of engineering, and mean we can cultivate more land, more quickly, producing a wider range of delicious crops than would be possible by hand or tractor.

We're one of the few farms in the UK to use horses to work the land. We chose this approach... more inside
