We are living of grid on a 10 acre piece of land, surrounded by the mountains of Cork and Kerry. There are different kinds of areas on different heights on the Tir na Beo. Woodland areas, bog land bits and various types of little fields and gardens. The Gougane Barra National Park and the Lee Valley with the beautiful chain of lakes forming Lough Allua are close by. This is a very rural area and the nearest village is about 5 km away. The distance to the west coast is about 25 km.

History, Philosophy, Life and Plans:
We are inspired by people who live and work on their own land self-sufficient as much as possible and in harmony with nature. Being more healthy and happy. Eating good organic food is also essential for us and our way of living. To us this kind of life is perfect to reveal our potentials.
We are preserving and restoring nature ongoing every year and we would like to share and enjoy this land and this beautiful area with other people in a community setting. ... more inside

**PLEASE READ: I only welcome helpers for 1-2 weeks at a time. For now I need helpers from 10th August to September 30**

My home is on the edge of a national forest reserve in one of the most beautiful parts of West Cork. I grow a kitchen garden with greenhouse and a naturalistic garden surrounding the house. It's an exceptional setting looking over an oak forest, with miles of off-road walking trails just outside the door, including the Beara Way walking trail. Glengarriff village is 1.5 miles away with a grocery store, several good pubs, and public bus access to Bantry all year.

I am single, and American and Irish. Because I work at my business full-time during the spring, summer, and autumn, I need help maintaining and improving the garden and some household improvements. I am always keen to host anyoneone who has experience using a strimmer or a chain saw. I also am an AirBnB host and sometimes need help cleaning and preparing the guest room, or taking care of g... more inside

You would have your own small room and eat with us, we actually cook together. As you have seen on my site I run a small language teaching foreign students (age 18 - 60. There will be 2 teachers giving lessons in the mornings but it's great if you can chat to them and make sure they speak English all the time, especially evenings. This can be tiresome for some people as you need to speak slowly and understand there English is limited. You would work, probably alone, in the vegetable garden, weeding and watering (9.30. - 12.45) and 2 afternoons we will work with you (2.30-4.30). It is about 20 hours per week. We go to Bantry once a week shopping and on an excursion on Wednesday's, you would of course be included. Friday afternoon and weekends are free, there are bikes to borrow and I have rubber boots, old coats and clothes if you need them. We try to make it to an Irish music session Friday evening. Think that is about all. Students arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday, which is ... more inside

Greetings fellow travellers!

My name's Daniel, and I've been using HelpX as a volunteer since 2012. I recently purchased a hundred-year-old stone cottage in County Sligo on the west coast of Ireland. I'm now looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist me in restoring it and developing the one acre of land into a permaculture smallholding.

The cottage (pictured) needs a great deal of work before it's habitable, so accommodation will be in a small caravan on site, or, if you're feeling adventurous, a private tent. You will need a willingness to live a simple outdoor life for the duration of your stay. There is electricity on site for phone and laptop charging, as well as mobile internet, but it's not what you'll be used to in a city. Water is gathered by hand from a natural spring, and the nearest neighbour is a kilometre away (apart from the mooing variety).

The work will be varied, depending on the weather and your area of interest. Don't worry about a lack of expertise. ... more inside

Help needed , I need help with my garden and in return will offer bed and board. Work could include helping me thin out trees, chopping wood cutting grass, clearing undergrowth and various tasks 5 hrs a day 5 days a week the work is quite manual. The accommodation is in our home and you would have a double bedroom with your own bathroom, wifi internet and good food, we have sky tv in the lounge. You could also borrow bikes and come sailing / fishing with me in the summer months.
The closest shop and pub is about 1.5 miles away and the Aran ferry about 3 miles.
Our property is in a wonderful location with mountain views close to the coast about 45 mins from Galway city.
I am asking for helpers due to my garden being to big for me to manage on my own. Last winter had lots of trees knocked over in storms and I have cleared most of them. Am making rustic garden furniture and chainsaw carving out of some of the logs and the rest is being chopped for firewood.
Any helpers must lov... more inside

Hello Helpxers,
6 weeks in Dingle.

I am living in one of the most places in Ireland. That place is Dingle in County Kerry on the wild Atlantic way.
The house is in the heart of Dingle town. Literally a stones throw from good Irish music pubs, restaurants and of course minutes from the sea. I need some help in a shop that I run so good people skills... fluent English is a must. You will have plenty of time to yourself and I hope you can work on your own initiative. You will have your own room, wifi, bike, meals, Netflix, and great company.
