We are a couple with two small children, we live in the country side, in a beautiful and quite place in the southwest of Co Galway, there is a few neighbours nearby. Deer, badger, foxes and heron are easy to see, depending on season.

We speak English and Spanish at home. We are 10 kms from the main town, Gort, where there is a bus station, a train station, restaurants and many shops. Our location is very rural and there isn't any bus stop close by.

We try to live in as much as possible sustainable way with Nature, so all our water supply is from our own water well, we have a wood stove to heat the house and solar panels to heat water.

There is a beautiful woodland adjacent to the house where deers often graze and hide. So this is a good spot for Nature lovers.
We are doing some fixings and maintenance around the house and land so we need help with pruning, raising fences, planting, chopping wood, weeding, fixing wooden doors and windows, building timber frames, wooden s... more inside

Close to the North West coast with spectacular beaches some of them famous surf spots, mountain ranges for hillwalking and plenty of rivers and lakes
.On the other hand Sligo Town is only 10 minutes by car or there is a train and bus service(main Dublin to Sligo line) and which has all necessary facilities (shops, pubs, theatre etc.)

Sligo is a well known place for traditional music and is home to trad-band Dervish.

We established our organic vegetable garden four years ago and we try to increase the size bit by bit every year. We have fifteen chicken and two ducks at present.

We can offer excellent food and a nice room, and ... more inside

We are a farm in the west of Ireland. We work predominantly with horses. We are looking for some helpers to help with the horses preferably for a month or longer as it takes a while to get used to how the yard runs. I work full time outside the home . Johnny works the farm and full time in the yard we have two children Robyn is 18 and Aaron is 14 so no babysitting needed. But maybe the odd hand cooking dinner or tidying up. so if you're interested in horses and passing through the West of Ireland give us a shout. Any other experience of working/riding horses would be a bonus you must be happy to fit in with family life. We are a farm/ horse stud that breeds and brings on horses we also keep livery horses for clients. we keep hunters and a few showjumpers. We are situated in the west of Ireland 30kms from galway city not far from the edge of the burren.
we would like any helpx for short or long term to help out with the farm and house (sheep and cattle occasionally) but mostly wit... more inside

Greetings fellow travellers!

My name's Daniel, and I've been using HelpX as a volunteer since 2012. I recently purchased a hundred-year-old stone cottage in County Sligo on the west coast of Ireland. I'm now looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist me in restoring it and developing the one acre of land into a permaculture smallholding.

The cottage (pictured) needs a great deal of work before it's habitable, so accommodation will be in a small caravan on site, or, if you're feeling adventurous, a private tent. You will need a willingness to live a simple outdoor life for the duration of your stay. There is electricity on site for phone and laptop charging, as well as mobile internet, but it's not what you'll be used to in a city. Water is gathered by hand from a natural spring, and the nearest neighbour is a kilometre away (apart from the mooing variety).

The work will be varied, depending on the weather and your area of interest. Don't worry about a lack of expertise. ... more inside

The work is mainly childcare and helping to cook the evening family meal, light housework and food prep for the bus. Our two boys, aged 4 and 5, who are beautiful and bright, curious, kind, and crazy. We have set up a food business in a 1968 Double Decker Bus and the tourist season is about to begin...

If this post sounds interesting to you, please feel free to contact us. All references are welcome.

Needless to say, we require a strong work ethic, a sense of humour, kindness, and patience. All things we try to maintain ourselves.

We would like 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in exchange for accommodation in our home, all meals, and free wifi. Specifically, from mid-August to the end of September we are looking for someone who can take care of our two boys for a few hours each day and cook the family meal in the evening.

Our home is located in Westquarter just around the corner from a lovely pub/restaurant and beside one of the most beautiful walks on the island.

We are small FREE RANGE PIG and CATTLE farmers just outside the village of Kilfenora, county Clare, in the West of Ireland. We sell our own free range pork meat directly from the farm. We also have a few hens and ducks, a couple of dogs, 2 donkeys and a cat. We have a good size poly tunnel where we grow a lot of organic vegetables and fruits. We are looking someone who would like to come and experience a bit of traditional farming in a lovely part of the country. We are part of an Ecotourism group in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and have some interesting projects in the pipeline, so we need people with different type of skills. We also offer 'Glamping' accommodation on the farm in a converted old horsetruck for accommodation and meals for paying guests. See www.burrenglamping.com
In the springtime, we spend a lot of time preparing the garden and in the autumn we are harvesting a lot of our fruit and vegetables and go out foraging for wild berries, nuts etc so people who a... more inside

We are a medium sized B&B in the SW of Ireland. We have two polytunnels and a permaculture garden where we produce fruit and vegetables that are suited to our local climate. We are animal lovers... 3dogs and cats.. Loads of chickens and ducks.. And 2 horses.
We would love some help with the B&B, the animals and the garden.
My second profession is holistic hoofcare for horses.
We offer lots of different experiences: gardening (plant production and organic vegetable gardening) and holistic hoof and horse care!

We provide a large, bright and warm room for helpers in the house. All food is home cooked and is either provided by our own garden or sourced locally as much as possible.
