We are ecologically renovating an old house with straw-bales and clay. We are looking for straw bale / clay building enthusiasts, who like to make their hands dirty.

Hosting gives us the possibility to travel while staying at home. We enjoy making vegetarian dishes, but occasionally we eat meat. Joris is a professional wood fired clay stove builder. An recently started as a full time ceramist, making hand crafted pottery.

As our straw bale building is getting more and more to a finish the type of help that we require gets more and more refined. We need helpers who are handy with woodwork. One of the next projects is making the wooden doors and a kitchen from scratch. A carpenter apprentice would be perfect!!;) But if you know that you are handy you are very welcome to come and learn.
You can find some pictures of the building site via our first website link above.
We live in another house (co-housing with my nice parents) where there are two extra rooms for our host.

I live in an older office building which I'm tranforming into a nice living place.

You can come here and do whatever you like. You can do graffiti, painting, woodcutting, music, etc.
There are 3 big spaces of which 1 I have already made very cozy:) The goal is to use our imagination to create 2 other creative spaces. I want to bring people together from different backgrounds and different interest so we stimulate each other to try out all kinds of different things. In my perception, this is how to discover more about ourselves, try out as much as possible and be inspired by different souls.
There is a wood close by if you want to enjoy nature a bit. I don't grow food so you'll have to provide yourself with food. If you wish to work in a garden, there is a community close by as well. If you like meditation, there is a separate room to meditate.

Hi, i've bought this old ardenne's farm in 2013. Now, i'm working on it 4 days a week...
I'm breeding cattles (calves, sheeps, rabbits, chikens, pigs... and bees) on a organic way. I'm also selling them on a direct-selling way (working on a farm'butchery).
Before being a farmer, i've studied sciences and travel a bit accross Europe. Meeting other people and new cultures is one of my best wishes!
but now, travelling is more complicated with all animals so... i open my door (and a friend-sleeping-room).Feel Welcome!

I'm pretty sure you can help me for anything (from house to field, from feeding animals to selling them,...)

My area is really a Tourist area, feel free to plan visits, walks and so on! We're not far away from Bastogne and Luxembourg.

I can speak fluent english, french, and nederlands, i've some knowledge in norwegian and in spanish ^^ and trying to learn german :)

Dear helper,

I would like to welcome you in my small Farm for rescued animals.
We have a lot of dogs, cats, sheep, goats, ducks (and other birds) and one horse.
It is always something to do here. Everything around animals. So please just people who are comfortable with animals and a bit of dirt... Everyday tasks would be feeding, cleaning and playing with the animals. Carpenter skills are more than welcome. We would provide a comfortable bed to sleep in a big separate room and 3 meals during the day. We are situated close to the border to Germany and Netherlands. Aachen, Maastricht and Liege are all in a reachable distance. We have a really good bus and train system in our area. I would ask for 4 to 5 hours work per day with one day off, but we can also talk about the schedule. If you like to work one day more to get an other day off is that totally fine to me.
If you want to see and know more about our animals and the property have a look at our facebook page link above.

NOT HOSTING CURRENTLY, WE START AGAIN MAY 2018

Me (32 years old) and my girlfriend (30) have created a smallholding (2,7ha), growing and selling organic fruit, veggies, … On the land we first started planting lots of fruit trees, berry bushes and herbs. In the summer of 2012 we then started building a straw bale house, which still requires some finishing touches but we have moved in since december 2015. We are interested in permaculture and edible forest gardening and try to design the land with these principles in mind.
We will finish the proper accommodation facilities for volunteers by next spring (shower, toilet, kitchen). We are welcoming people who would like to help with gardening, which will be the main focus for this season. Some of the other projects for this season are: lime finish on the outside of the strawbale house, semi-underground glass greenhouse construction, ... No building-experience needed. Minimum stay of 10 days.
We expect you to help an average of 25 ho... more inside

Hi there,
We are Bruno and Jenni. In January 2016, we bought a little house with some land around it. Our wish is that this place may be a home to all, a place where natural exchange can happen, where we aim for the Highest, and we have space for all. Until now, we have really enjoyed hosting people from all over the world, and we're ready for more :-)
Accommodation and lifestyle are simple and basic. You will have a room for yourself, a wood stove for heating, bed & blankets. Meals are shared.
We also work together with a (French-speaking) lady living down the road. She owns a domain with forest and gardens. She's really into this new ecology and transition movement, so we like to support her place with a few helping hands. There are a few guest rooms and a separate kitchen, so it is possible to stay at her place, too (we're a bit more strict with our 'selection procedure' for this place, so please inquire about this if you would like to stay with her to help out).

We are a small organisation creating a « transition » place in Stavelot. We want to develop all kinds of activities demonstrating how anyone can adapt their lifestyle to be more respectful of our environment, regardless of their income (producing, transforming and conserving organic food, using rain water, using a compost toilet, making simple organic cleaning and cosmetic products, getting to know local producers, developing non-commercial exchanges and much more).

We try to practice what we preach and our first activity is to renovate the house that will host our future activities, “the 65”. The house was built in the 18th century, a time when there was no electricity, no plastic, no engineers and no architect required...
To minimize the environmental footprint of our work, we use mostly second hand materials and we try to stick to natural products such as wood, clay and lime.
To minimize energy consumption, we are isolating the house and setting up a high performance wood ... more inside

Goodday!

Are you last-minute looking for a place to come and work? You are welcome at De Koer - We are especially looking for HelpX'ers from the end of August untill September 11th. People with experience or interest in woodwork are especially welcome ;).

Plans -
We will be building a wall for a small community cinema, a wall in the big theatre hall as a temporary construction during renovations, building a rooftop outside, continue the work at the wood fired oven.

DE KOER.
We are a small non-profit organisation at the start of a big restoration/ reconstruction of a community building as a place for artistic and social creation and encounter. The building used to be a community building but got degraded the last decennia. We negotiated a ground lease for the coming 35 years with the owners.

Our intention is to redevelop the place slowly - creating the plans together with the users and the neighborhood and also doing the construction-work together with many volunte... more inside
