We own and operate a remote, fly in Guide Outfitting business in Northern BC and are looking for 1-2 people to help in our camps from late August through to early (or mid) October as cooks/camp helpers. Breakfast and dinner are cooked for a group, lunches are packed. Camp help includes basic carpentry/fixing cabins, helping process meat from harvested animals, helping with the horses, and getting firewood. There are plenty of opportunities to go hiking, and also to occasionally head out with a guide for the day. There is the option to help trail the horses out at the end of the season. Accommodations are a shared cabin with wood heat, there is a generator for power. We are very remote so there is no wifi/phone etc. There are sat phones available. We would be happy to provide further details to anyone interested.

Hi our names are Ali and Tyler of Maverick Farms. Located in Bridge Lake, BC near 100 Mile House, we focus on ethical farming and educating the public on the importance of raising healthy, happy livestock. We raise sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, cattle, turkeys and rabbits. We are proud to supply our community with hormone free, naturally raised meat. We often provide petting zoos for community events and do talks/offer hands on experience to allow people to see how farming should be done.

Ali is a Realtor and is very involved in her horses and other animals. She would be happy to talk for hours about each of her animals and what she has learned from them and about them over the years. Tyler is a carpenter and is always willing to chat about woodworking/building!

After work is done, there may be the opportunity to enjoy a game of horseshoes, a swim in beautiful Bridge Lake, a kayak at a friends nearby resort, or a hike through the forest. Or maybe time to practice your... more inside

Hi there!

We run a riding and petting zoo located in the heart of beautiful North BC.

Apart from offering trail rides, pony rides and a petting zoo to the public we also host a non-profit program which provides equine assisted life skill learning courses/workshops for at-risk youth and children with mental health needs (e.g. autism, FASD, ADHD, etc.)

We recently moved to a beautiful new location conveniently closer to Smithers. The place provides a lot more space and offers unparalleled opportunities for trail riding and exploring amidst serene white peaked mountains and forested hills. Relocating a whole ranch with all of its human and animal inhabitants is quite an undertaking and we are working hard to get the ranch and learning center up and running.

We are looking for helpers all year round who are comfortable working at a ranch (especially with horses and other small farm animals) and who can offer a positive contribution on a daily basis. We have horses, ponies, s... more inside

This sheep ranch is nestled alongside a beautiful coastal mountain range. Our family includes two twenty-year old children and three young children ages four years, seven years and nine years old. Bruce is Australian and Rene is Canadian. We can watch wild mountain goats from the dining room of our home. Although we are off the power grid, we offer television, cell phone service and unlimited free internet. Our farm is 3km off the highway in a very private setting. Work is mainly feeding animals and sustaining our farm/country life. Lambing is happening now and sheep are needing hay. Horses are in need of grooming and riding. Work includes fixing fences, chopping firewood and feeding animals. We also need help with the children. We are both on FB. Come experience outback BC!
