Situated in natural sand forest adjacent to the largest of the lakes in the Kosi Bay Lake system. This is a natural environment that is part of the first World Heritage site proclaimed in South Africa. There is direct walk in access to the lake. From there are extensive tracks to wander in the forest. The local beaches although not close are unspoilt, a visit to Kosi Mouth to snorkel in the sanctuary and ocean is possible even by hiking.
We are looking for volunteers to help out with daily maintenance tasks, construction projects, local park area clean-ups.
Planting of herb spirals and other growing projects are needed. Interaction with the guests is normally interesting and fun. Accommodation will be provided in a lodge style tent and some meals will be provided. If you are volunteering in the North of KwaZulu Natal it would be easy to reach the local town by taxi where you could be collected.

Nestled between two wine farms in the nook of the mountains on the outskirts of the historical rural Sir Lowrys Pass village only 60kms from Cape Town and 40km from Cape Town International airport, lies our 4 hectare property.

We are striving to create a fully self sustaining, self sufficient environment through organic farming practice and incorporating biodynamic principles in growing our own veggies, raising pigs, goats, chickens and keeping several beehives as well as having 4 donkeys which we endeavour to use for working the land, replacing or at least aiding the old Massey Fergusson.

We enjoy the help and interaction with like-minded people who are willing to work toward our common goal.

We are in a beautiful rural area next to one of best point break surf breaks in South Africa in the Wild Coast. Ideal candidate should be willing to work late nights, do beach bonfires and entertain guests, some office duties, some maintenance work, whatever is your strengths. We are a relaxed but serious enough rustic backpackers, and busy enough that we need some help in the evenings as locals like to spend their time at home and go to bed early. We are in a traditional village, where cows are still herded, and women go out to fetch their fire wood to be able to cook the meal for the family. We work closely together with the community, and are in a unique and privileged position to combine tourism and community development. We also have an affiliated NPO organization that does social, health & educational programs in the area, and together we host two fundraising events in the year, one a Music Festival and the other a Trail Run. Not currently hosting, will update when we can accept helpers again...

I could use some help at my soap crafting studio (Scented Life) and I have a spare room (private with en-suite) in my home - perfect for help-exchange :)

No experience necessary but soap or cosmetic crafting knowledge would be a plus. We think either 4 full days or 7 half days general shop assistant work per week will be a fair exchange. Happy to discuss :)

We can include the use of a bicycle for the duration, and you get wifi. You'll share some of our meals and some you'll sort yourself out. We'd love to try a meal cooked by you from your country if you can get ingredients locally.

Kommetjie is a wonderful place to stay - ask Google!

As it is our first exchange, I'd like to try a 2-week stint to see if this works for us.

Hi HelpXers

We are a bush camp in Sodwana Bay welcoming holiday makers & travellers from around the world. We are located within the village of Sodwana within walking distance of little shops & restaurants & we are 4km from the beach.

Sodwana Bay offers great scuba diving opportunities, amazing beach & special natural environments.

We would love someone to join us anytime especially over our peak summer season from mid November to mid January (preferably at least for a month).

The right person to join our crew should be keen to help with a little bit of everything at our camp. Things like reception & admin, cooking simple meals, any maintenence would be very handy.

There will be loads of time for you to explore & enjoy our part of the world.

For a bit more information please get in touch.
Thank you
