We recently bought a Quinta in Central Portugal with 270 olive trees and lots of vines plus peaches, pears figs, apples, oranges and more. We have inherited the farm dog and 6 laying hens plus several ferral cats! We have also adopted a stray puppy and have 3 ducks.

We have been busy planting a large vegetable patch and herb garden using companion planting techniques wherever possible and currently have cabbages, lettuce, beetroot, peppers, winter spinach, radishes, turnips, beans, broad beans, peas, onions, garlic and more being planted as the weather permits. - our garden is an ongoing project so anyone with organic gardening/permaculture experience would be especially welcome.

We can provide a comfortable roof tent with mattress and bedding plus compost toilet. We have a large communal kitchen and decking area.

Work at the moment is helping in the garden and rendering - we will be starting to convert the stone house in the Autumn. Olive harvest is mid November. W... more inside

We're building an ecovillage from scratch.
It's a love project so it will be made with pleasure and everybody is welcome to join in! ;)

The 10th of August the building of the first earth Dome starts! (6 meters in diameter)
This is going to be a workshop for ANYBODY who wants to learn about sustainable living. So feel free to come and bring your friends!
We are sure this will be an unforgettable experience!!

There are a couple of waterfalls and a few ponds in the land.
We will enlarge two of the existing ponds so that water can be kept all year round.
The earth from the ponds will be used in the Dome.
Currently the ponds run dry around Jully for up to three months.

We, friends and volunteers (= future friends) will be on the land for all of August.
The idea for now is to camp, but there is a family house in a little village 4 km away from the land, if you prefer a normal bed!
Along with music and fun, vegetarian meals will be provided!

We are looking for people th... more inside

We are an Irish/South African couple who have recently moved to a small vineyard in central Portugal. We are renewing the vineyard, growing our own organic vegetable and we plan to get some livestock soon (chickens, geese, goats).
We would welcome visitors who are prepared to help with pruning vines, gardening or carpentry for a few hours a day. Accomodation is a small caravan but meals, showers and bathroom facilities will be in our small cottage.

This is a little organic self-sufficient farm with big veggie and fruit garden, field, donkeys, goats, pigs, chicken, doves, ducks, dogs and cats; solar-energy and autonomy.
We constantly welcome helpers for all kinds of agriculture work.

Above this you will know portuguese cooking and can learn many aspects of organic farming and using or conserving all fruit and vegetables of garden and field.
We have a balance diet including meat and fish, if vegeterians want they can do their own meals.

Work is mostly 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, and accomodation will be in a cozy caravan. In the winter people have to be strong to deal with simple circumstances. Electricity is based on solar, then when there is less sun there will not always be enough water for daily showers or maybe missing of light. bring torch!

the farm sits between two beautiful villages in 3 to 4km distance; the next town is lagos and there is a bus going to the villages.

Lagos offers always cultural-events... more inside

We have a villa in the algarve which has 3 floors with 2 apartments. We rent 1 apartment usually from March to November for holidays for disabled people. The owner is disabled himself, being paralysed from the neck down. His wife looks after him and the villa. There is usually about 3 weeks work preparing for the next holiday season. This would be in January or February. Help would be required to prepare and paint areas inside and out. Tiling, odd jobs, gardening, testing and fitting irrigation in the garden.

We are a retired English family with a 15 year old son. Our farm is a hobby farm and most things we do are for our health and for fun. On the farm we have - a donkey, pigeons, rabbits, bees, sometimes quail, guinea fowl and chickens. We are also trying to set up an Aquaponics system and have some solar power. We are striving to set up a permaculture garden. We have learned a lot about making the best of the very hot summers and the very wet winters and how this relates to growing plants and trees.
Your accommodation and some of your meals will be in a small caravan although we cook and eat outside quite a lot. We need help clearing bramble and extending our new food forest. 50 olive trees need pruning. Building work is also required to bring into use three cottages I have in the area. One day I will want help restoring the NORA - this is the donkey powered irrigation system.
Skills you might acquire - tractor driving, basic bee keeping, composting. You will learn how to manage... more inside
