Hello, we have an old Quinta which we are doing up and we have 2.5 acres of land which need a bit of work . We can offer a separate barn for accommodation and all meals, please note that we are not vegetarian!

We are in central Portugal, in between Viseu and Coimbra and close to the Serra Da Estrela (mountains of the stars!).

We are looking for a single person or a couple or friends to help us clear the land and build a load of raised beds, and help us plan out our vegetable plots and prune the vines, olive trees etc, young families also welcome! We are also renovating our Quinta which is a hundred year old granite building and there is painting and light laboring tasks that we'd love help with.

In return we can offer a fully self contained casa, our renovated barn, which has a wet room and little kitchen area and we have wifi in the house and British tv which we are happy to share, all meals included and we are totally flexible about how the working hours are arranged! ... more inside

Hi :) We are a busy family -four children, 2 horses,3 dogs and a cat with plans to have goats, chickens etc... We have an interesting property, possibly with knights of the Templar connections(a Templar cross on a chimney breast) near Tomar, Central Portugal. It is a large renovation project consisting of ruined farmhouse, cottage, outbuildings and surrounding olive groves. There are so many interesting features such as a roman well which we use as a plunge pool, and beautiful architectural features that are begging to be brought back to their original grandeur. We are bursting with ideas and concepts and we are at the early stages of our project but each day making good progress. Thanks to our 3 German helpx friends, Benno, Felix and Mauritz :) we now have a fully functioning bread oven - just one job they helped with to make life better- brilliant!
We moved from the U.K, Wales, the children are settling into school and every day presents a new challenge...it is a massive learning ... more inside

Monte na Luz is a centre for courses and workshops, and is created to give people an opportunity to bring more awareness into the human consciousness. From March to November we offer a variety of courses. The centre is spread over an area of 2 hectares. It’s the place for yoga, meditation and all kinds of other mind/body activities in the Algarve.
During the months June, July and August we can use help in the garden and in the householding while we have groups for courses. The work will be dishwashing, cleaning, grass cutting, gardening, small maintenance etc. We offer a place to stay, breakfast and a meal in exchange for 4 hours of work per day (28 hours per week).

Stay the Summer in Minho in Portugal in exchange for watering a nursery of about 1000 potted plants, and some planted trees and shrubs on my Permaculture farm.

The nursery needs watering thoroughly every day in Summer. It contains valuable and rare plants, many of which I grew from seed and are several years old. Watering the nursery with a hose (properly done) takes about 1˝ hours.

Trees and shrubs planted in the last 2 years need watering with buckets about once per month. So a few every day in rotation will keep them all happy.

You can also grow vegetables in no-dig mulched beds, if you would like that.

We are a couple, old(ish) in years but young at heart, who have taken on more work than we have hours in the day for or enough hands to deal with.
Our property is a bit of a mess, a cosy mess none the less but we desperately need some friendly, energetic people to help us make it beautiful.
We've been renovating for nearly two years now. The building work is completed and we have now started on the interior. The kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room are all usable and we are in the process of putting in the dividing walls for the bedrooms and landscaping the garden area around the house.
The property is what's know in Portugal as a quinta, a small farm or small holding. We have around 2 hectares of land which includes a large organic vegetable plot with a HUGE poly tunnel, an olive grove and woodland. We have 2 goats, 4 chickens, 2 geese, two dogs, a cat and two rabbits and are working on an aquaponics project in order to farm our own fish.
We also foster the occasional do... more inside

Help needed on a 3 hectare organic quinta; land clearance, terrace wall mending, building renovation, raised bed construction, gardening, cabin making, wood chopping.

I'm pretty self sufficient and the farm is loosely based on permaculture principles. Am hoping to put yurts and cabins on it one day and open as an eco camping retreat.

There are olive, walnut, chestnut, cherry, fig, peach, apple and persimmon trees, vines, a stream, meadows, terraces and a beautiful view.

The local village is a 15 min walk away and has a shop/post office and open air cafe/swimming hole in the river.

Lots of interesting people nearby and good things going on.

I have a very friendly dog and you're welcome to bring yours if you have one.

Accommodation is in a caravan or you're welcome to camp/park in the shade if you prefer.

Facilities are basic, but there's a decent compost loo and solar shower.
