Would you like to stay in our newly renovated house with us in exchange for work in the beautiful town of Donnybrook?

We love having people stay with us and although we no longer live on a bigger farm, we still have plenty to do on the smaller one. There is also the possibility of visiting the larger farm for maintenance with us in Esperance.

The work we require is mainly gardening, lawn mowing, and pruning trees but there will also be some cleaning and cooking at times. This work is not hard, most is very light and easy and we ask nothing from you we are not prepared to help with!

We love trying meals from other cultures as I am not the most experimental cook but there is always plenty of food!

We have horses and a veggie patch but no longer have all the other farm animals we once had. Donnybrook has a lot of paid fruit picking and farm work going if you are a good worker. We have previously found paid work with friends for our HelpX people that work hard.

We are looking for a single person or a couple to look after horses, dogs and chooks for 2 weeks while we are away on holiday.
You will need to be able to start before the end of October.

Some experience with horses is necessary and you need to enjoy being with animals.

We are situated on a picturesque, very scenic property with superb views to the coast, in the foothills south of Perth, only 1.5 hours from the city.

We have 15 horses which we use to take people out on trail-rides ranging from one to three hours through magnificent countryside.

Handfeeding a few of the horses twice daily, feeding chooks and 3 dogs which are a lot of fun, will be required.

You will need to be a responsible, motivated self-starter with a good work ethic, capable of seeing tasks through to completion.

All food (healthy, some home grown) and accommodation is provided.
Accommodation is basic but comfortable and clean and you have private quarters with own loo but shared bathroom.

We have a small hobby farm with vegetable gardens, fruit trees, chooks and a few cows. Not certified in any way but we try not to use any chemicals. We used to grow all of our own fruit and vegetables and would love to get back to that but need some help.

Work would be varied and flexible - gardening, weeding, planting, feeding chooks, mowing lawns, helping tidy up...

Accommodation for 1-2 people (double bed) in a separate building with bedroom, living area and kitchenette (stocked pantry and seasonal fruit/veg available but you will need to cook your own meals)

2-4 hours work per day but flexible (you can take days off for sightseeing etc)

2kms from town (walking/biking distance). May be able to arrange transport from train station in town if you don't have a car.

Edit 29/11/17. Unfortunately there is no plumbing at the moment and limited electricity.

Greetings,
My fiance and I have half an acre in Kendenup WA. This is an hour from Denmark or Albany on the south coast.
We are getting the garden done with the view to putting up a couple of flat packed sheds soon.
We would like some company and help with chores around the place.
Can you do straw bale building?
We have no electricity but plenty of firewood for the fire pit. We have plenty of space for swags, tents, vans and the like. We are very close to the Stirling ranges and the southern forests. No house on the site as yet so camping is the go with us.
We would love to hear from you if youre interested in visiting and giving us a hand. We will help out by being tour guides and wonderful hosts.
I have been a surfcoucher host for some years and really enjoyed the experience. I have made some every good friends from this experience. We have visited guests of ours in the UK and Hong Kong.
Why not give us a try. Come visit.
We would love help in the garden and with buildin... more inside

I have a half share in a 32 acres near Karridale and Margaret River. Whilst I have owned the property since 1977 I have not lived here for the past 13 years and have been back only a matter of months.

Consequently there are a lot of repairs and building projects pending, as well tidying up in general.
Currently I have a veggie garden, an ornamental garden and an orchard that I have almost rehabilitated and which I intend to expand by planting more fruiting trees.

Ideally I would like people who are happy to learn and try anything. People with building skills/ experience and or trade skills would be most welcome.

The volunteer accommondation is a caravan about 50 metres from the cottage. This will ostensibly be for sleeping and private time. The caravan is simple but clean and comfortable. It would be perfect for one and cosy for a couple or 2 people prepared to share the double bed.
There will also be full access to the cottage and freestanding/ separate kitchen. All m... more inside
