Our property is a small farm of five acres in the Tamar valley wine region of Tasmania.

Whilst we do have a small hobby farm, we are looking SPECIFICALLY for help in the garden.

We would like to hear from you if you are a PASSIONATE GARDENER, someone who is able to see what needs doing and even contribute ideas. Our garden surrounds the house and is one to two acres. We need help with structuring, landscaping, planting, weeding, mowing and generally keeping it under control.

Beyond the garden, we have a small bush block where we farm Wessex Saddleback pigs, and small paddocks with four sheep, and hens for eggs. We have a retired sheepdog, and two young children (8 and 11yrs).

We produce free range Saddleback pork (delicious!) and sell at a farmers' market and regional events.

If you have your own transport, that is useful, as Launceston is half an hour away and the nearest town is 8km away.

You will have a private double room overlooking the garden, living ar... more inside

We live 20 mins from Hobart(the state capital) in a rural setting.
At our property I have a large garden and it takes most of my time. We have a lovely room that you can stay in, and share a bathroom with my 18 year old son. All i am interested in is having some one to help me with the garden and a couple of odd jobs around the paddocks. I am a great cook and love cooking so this is not a problem. I will admit that i do like tidy ness and order. I am very easy to get along with and I would love to met you and show you Tasmania. Come and stay with us and help me out you will be very surprisedů

We are a friendly Franco-Australian family living on six acres of land on the beautiful Tinderbox Peninsula in southern Tasmania, five minutes from a Blackmans Bay (a suburb of Hobart) and twenty minutes from the centre of Hobart. Right now we are looking for a helper (or helper couple) to help us out with the kids over the next six weeks until mid-Oct while enjoying a cultural exchange and discovering beautiful Tasmania.

Hobart is a small and beautiful town with many attractions, but it is not for those who are looking for nightlife and shopping. To make the most of an experience with us, you need to be adventurous, love the outdoors and nature, be creative and self-sufficient, and like animals. On our property we have six sheep, eleven chickens and a rooster, and a lively Australian Kelpie dog. We also have a lot of bush, full of possums, wallabies, parrots and other native birds and animals. We have a beautiful view over the Derwent River and are close to several beaches (th... more inside

Next Tip departs 18th August 2014.

Live and work in the heart of Tasmania's largest wilderness rainforest, the Tarkine.

Our retreat is located in the middle of the Tarkine, the largest patch of cool temperate rainforest in the southern hemisphere (approximately 90 minutes drive from Burnie). We regularly run maintenance trips at the retreat which involve minor building projects, track maintenance, firewood collection and general cleaning. We usually undertake around 6-8 hours of work per day. We are wanting keen helpers to assist us in these work sessions. The retreat is located a short walk from the vehicle making it accessible for everyone without a huge walk. Accommodation is in large safari style tents. We provide transport from Hobart, food and accommodation. The dates of the trips vary.

You will need to provide your own clothing including raincoat top and bottom, warm jumper, beany, thermals, sleeping bag, backpack or bag to carry your clothes and sleep gear up to... more inside

I'm currently living by myself in a 25 room house on 1.5 acres in Kempton, Tasmania.

The place is 40 minutes from the Tasmanian capital (Hobart) - so it isn't isolated at all..... I bought it 2 years ago as I fell in love with the place and have a long project ahead of me to restore it. My aim is to plant a vineyard (but I haven't learned how to yet!).....

I work away a lot, so am only there about half of the time, and I'm keen to offer free rent and food in exchange for some work around the house and garden - and basically to keep the place alive with good people, fun and laughter! You won't be waited on - but you will have 'run of the manor' a lot!

I have 6 chooks and 2 fish who are the masters of their domain and keep me in line! They want friends too!

I'm generally after basic help in weeding, mowing and trimming in the garden...

Ideally I need help with lots of work in the house like floor sanding, painting, plastering etc... (if you are an electrician or p... more inside
