We need some good help with the biodynamic vegetable garden, the orchard and the medicinal herb garden. Also carpentry, stone walling, house building skills will be very welcome
They tell me that the food is good, the ambience is peace and you will have plenty of time off to explore, read/write or make music.
Experienced gardeners or farm workers preferred.
The Isle of Lismore, one of the inner Hebridean islands in the West of Scotland, is green, filled with history, wild flowers and kind people. A great place to be. Though the weather can be wet and windy there are also glorious days when you truly would not want to be anywhere else in the world. We are Eva & Sebastian, a homeopath/herbalist and architect. We have been building an eco house and creating an holistic farm from a derelict field. We have planted over 10,000 trees, created a large biodynamic veg and medicinal herb garden and put up a productive polytunnel. Apart from feeding ourselves we also have a small box sch... more inside

We live in a beautiful hillside location in Aberdeenshire. Our property is a smallholding with milking goats, sheep and various poultry. We are converting land for the production of fruit and vegetables, with a number of areas already established.

The help we require varies with the time of year. This year we start kidding at the end of February and from the end of March we start lambing. At other times help is needed with vegetable growing, weeding, fencing and field work. We also need help this year to build a hay store. The minimum length of stay is two weeks.

Accommodation is in a cosy caravan with a beautiful view.

Although we are in a very rural location there is a regular bus service that runs 3/4 mile from the house which is on the main route from Inverness to Aberdeen. There are also train services from both Huntly and Keith which are each 5 miles away.

About us: we have 2 children of 10 & 7 who are homeschooled.

Hello HelpXers - If there is anyone out there, available NOW, with a seriously healthy appetite and a great work ethic who likes to indulge in a good amount of meat, fish and eggs then please get in touch as I have more food than I frankly know what to do with! I'm looking for someone to do roughly four hours per day, five days per week (weekends off). More suited to someone with their own transport as we are a long way from town, although we do have some spectacular views to enjoy! Thus if you enjoy walking / hiking then this could well be the place for you. You will need to be physically fit or prepared to hurt for a few days until your muscles learn! If you are knowledgeable in the equine arena so much the better, but if not, no worries as I am happy to teach you everything I've learnt over the last forty odd years. I prefer longer stays to shorter ones - with a minimum of two weeks. Please DO NOT contact me if you are expecting central heating, cleanliness everywhere and someone... more inside

We have moved here this year and need help with various landscaping and labouring jobs. There is a 3 bedroomed cottage where we live. Off the courtyard there is a barn which is to be converted to an Art Gallery, and another Barn which needs rebuilding. There will be a Shepherd’s Hut in a small paddock. We need to demolish a hut and build decking. Some landscaping is needed in this area. We are also planning to create a vegetable garden.
It would be great to have some help with all these things!

We are a couple in our early 60s, easygoing and young at heart! We have a friendly brown labradoodle dog.

We are offering bed and full board, eating meals with us. We are vegan and so volunteers would have to enjoy a plant-based diet. We are fairly flexible about hours, and there would be 2 days off per week. Maximum hours would be 6 hours per day. Volunteers to stay for up to 2 weeks.

The house is in a beautiful part of Scotland, with walking, cycling and fishing all around. It... more inside

Hello!
My family home is a rural cottage on the edge of the beautiful Black Mountains in Herefordshire. I am aged 70 (I like to think I have a more youthful outlook!) and would welcome help with the continued establishment of the veggie garden and aquaponics garden, plus some small building projects and cutting wood for winter fuel (we have a largish amount!), exterior (if good weather) and interior simple DIY and decorating, whichever you think you might be able to contribute. Simon is moving our Tiny Homes workshop to a new site and would be glad of some helpful musclepower to move his kit.
Having recently moved to the cottage with a largish garden (patch) with many practical projects I invite helpers to come and stay, join me and family in finishing a project. I have a nice room in my house for accommodation, shared bathroom, good homemade food, company, occasional singing and a really interesting local area to offer. I am within walking distance of the mountains for outdoor ... more inside

I am slowly setting up an organic permaculture farm on 2.6 acres near the North coast of Cornwall. We will be camping in tents, with 1 space in a caravan during the summer while we create an edible forest garden, a no-dig market garden, plant trees, make paths, clear brambles, tend our beehive, and learn about growing food. Solar power available for occasional internet and movie nights, but the field is very basic so self-sufficient types only please. I am working in care to pay for this so will be working with you at least 3 days a week, up to 7.
We will be carrying with building and insulating our large shed/cabin, plus establishing beds for a no-dig market garden.
Surfboard/bodyboard/kayak available for use, with kitchen in caravan and collected drinking water, and rainwater for showers in the polytunnel.
I'm no slave driver - we'll balance out work with chill time on the land and at the beaches all around us. We're sited on a popular cycle route.
