Hi everyone,

We are a family of 4, Sebastien and Laurence, with our two young children, Louise who is 8, and Morgan who is 5 years old. We also house 2 cats and sometime sheep!
We live on Oleron Island, and our house is a 5 minute bikeride (or 10minute walk) from the coast and nearest village, Saint Denis d'Oleron. From the beach and harbour, you can see the famous Fort Boyard and La Rochelle. We live in the countryside, but have several bikes you can use to make use of the many cyclepaths/trails and beautiful beaches that Oleron has to offer.

Near the house, are the best SURF's spots of the island, you can go by bike. Sebastien is surfer and will come with you surfing. We have some wetsuits and bodyboard for you.

We need some help especially for outside work:

- We have a large garden where we grow lots of organic fruits (raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants..) so we always need help mulching, weeding, watering, mowing, etc.,

- There's always a b... more inside

Hi there!
I discovered helpx when I was travelling in new Zealand and now that I have a place to call home, I would love to keep this travelling feeling that you'll bring with you!

I live in a nice brick house and need and hand to bring back this old lady to her best potential.
The house need some indor refreshment. I don't know yet all I want to do in there but there'll be some wall painting involve for sure.
I have a garden too if you prefer working outside and if the weather allows it. I really want to do something out of it, grow some of my food there... Do you know anything about permaculture?
I also would like to build a cold frame or a greenhouse made from reused material.
If you like cooking, I'm always curious to try different food. I'm used to eat meat and try to reduce my meat consumption but I have hard time to cook meat free meals so if you are vegetarian or vegan, I hope you can share tricks or recipes!
I would like you to work 3 to 4 hours a day and 5 days... more inside

Sorry, NO NEED for volunteers now.

If you like animals, specially birds, you would probably like to help us... Our association was created 15 years ago, with a sanctuary certified by the local veterinary services department and the prefecture.

We shelter all types of parrots, regardless of their age or behaviour.

Each year, new parrots are illegally imported into France or seized by authorities over bad treatment, with no possibility of arranging for their re-adoption for legal reasons because they are considered wild captive fauna.

See our website to learn more about us: www.asap.asso.fr and click on the English flag on the right to see the introduction page of our English website. To see some of our parrots, click on the button sponsorship ;-)

This non-profit, non-subsidised organisation needs volunteers to provide the care these birds need.

The work requires feeding the parrots every morning and cleaning the area regularly. Afternoons are free. We prefer a minim... more inside

Hello! We are a franco-argentinian family with 3 kids and a charming dog, who got into an amazing adventure of renovating an old (1880) MOULINAGE (a silk manufacture) for both, living in a first place and creating a special place to stay.

US:
We are a young couple: Paz & Antoine
3 lovely, funny and most of the time easy-going kids: Nil ((almost 10) , Léo (6y) and Tess (4)
and our charming dog, Luna

We hold a small family building company. Antoine is a carpenter and I am a yoga teacher.

OUR PLACE:
It is an amazing silk manufacture with around 1000m2 of building to renovate and 2he of garden, so...there are plenty of things you could give us a hand with.

OUR PROJECT
We would love, before the summer, to make a nice outside, which goes from heavy gardening, weeding and wooding to stone wall building, we need to fence and securise the children's playground, to install the front gate, etc etc etc
We also need to empty 70mts2 and clean it to start renovating it....
So ... more inside

*** looking for someone from 18/19 March for just over two weeks to help while Danielle is away working and Anthony is recuperating from a hospital visit, cooking, gardening or dog training skills welcomed ***

We are an anglo-belgian couple retired to France with our 2 horses and miniature shetland pony. French additions to our family include 2 dogs and the chickens. We are active in the local community and there are often events or meals to attend where French is freely spoken. Horses are a big part of our lives.

We would like to take on helpers to help and participate with everyday life which is getting harder as we get older! Possible jobs include: helping with the horses and miniature pony as a groom (helping mucking out and poo picking daily, feeding, taking them out to fields, grooming, fencing) and work in the garden such as weeding, watering and collecting vegetables. The allocation of work depends on your abilities and skills and the time of year - less garden... more inside

Our names are Mel and Tom - we bought our property in August 2007 and now live as self-sufficiently as possible using all our own produce and preserving many of our crops to use over winter. We’re a family of four - our two boys are aged 14 and 18 and speak fluent French having been here for most of their school lives. Mel is also an artist and there is a studio on site.

We grow completely organic vegetables in our large vegetable garden and polytunnel and have fig trees, a damson plum and a pear tree among others - we’re looking forward to a big crop over the summer months. We grow organic, medicinal herbs which, if you’re interested in this, we can teach you about too. There are also blackberries and elderberries to harvest that grow wild on the property - lovely for jam and jellies!

There is ongoing work in the vegetable garden with weeding, watering and harvesting. At the height of the late summer there will be a lot of processing of tomatoes and other fruit and vegetables... more inside

We are a family of 4 people and we live on a farm in the Loire valley (center East of France). My husband Jean Michel (58) and myself, Odile (52) are farmers and we breed charolais cows in a sustainable way. We have two children, Emmanuel (13) and Marie Eve (8). We have a very friendly dog, and 8 cats, 65 cows and a few hens.
We have a bed and breackfast in our house and we sell product from the farm directly to the customers, mostly meat (and vegetables during spring and summer).

We are looking for 1 or 2 volunteers that could help us 4 hours per day from 2 weeks to a month. We have room for more people, so if you are a family, you are welcome here !

Their tasks would be mostly taking care of the animals (mostly feeding the cows), rebuilding some old fences, choping wood, fixing tools or gardening around the house.
We always have something going on here, anytime of year. Jean Michel and I really like to show the crafts techniques we use to people who are keen to discover... more inside

Vous pourrez... more inside

Hello everyone!
UPDATE: We are looking for someone for our team for beggining of March and until the end of the year and into 2020! We will be doing some work on our barn conversion, and going to our strawbale house in the Ardeche to finish some of the plastering, as well as hiking and relaxing by the wonderful rivers.

We are a French family and we welcome helpers throughout the year!
A great variety of tasks at hand: interior decoration, barn conversion, garden, landscaping, paint jobs, carpentry, making pizza in the old stone oven...We are also looking for people who like to spend a little time with children! And we have two horses and a donkey, who are not technically ours but who live with us. So the choice of what you do will also be yours!

We live in a large and comfortable farmhouse near the medieval city of Poitiers. Many attractions close by: we are 15 minutes from the Vallée des Singes (a huge park with monkeys running free), 1 hour from La Rochelle and the seasid... more inside
