We are located 18km from Cork City out in the countryside. 1.5km from a Bus route. The aerial photos are circa 2002. The trees have all grown and now form a little woodland area.

At the moment the garden is sidelined and we're looking for help childminding. We are a family with two young kids (3.5years and 13months), an acre of land, a polytunnel and a very hyper growing puppy called Rufus. Tessa owns and runs a health food store in Ennistymon, studied printmaking and plays the mandolin. Hein is South African and is a chef and a jack of all trades.

We enjoy gardening and having a nice space for the kids to see and learn about growing and building etc.

Right now I (Tessa) find myself in a predicament as Hein is in India for a few months and I need help with the two kids as I work in my shop a few days a week.

Jasper attends playschool mon-Fri from 9am-2pm so what I would need is some one to mind Phoenix 4 mornings a week and both kids one or two afternoons a week.

I would try make sure you had at least every second weekend to yourself but may need help the odd Saturday morning til noon.

We have a spare bedroom with its own sink and double... more inside

***We are currently looking for help from now on***

Hello!
After a break of about two years from HelpX, we are back :-)

In April of 2013 we moved from the midlands to beautiful West Cork. We have a traditional cottage, with a chalet and caravan on the land, all overlooking Bantry Bay. We have a cat and two dogs. We also have three young kids! They are, two months, 6 years and 8 years old :-)

There are small veg beds, a polytunnel for planting, and fruit trees on the land. We're looking for help with gardening, especially weeding and clearing. Also carpentry/building would be good!
Someone who is a hard worker and takes initiative is what we're looking for, as we may not be able to work with them all the time.

We also would love someone who is good with kids, if they were creative or artist/crafty people that were good around the house it would be great too!

There is loads of music in the house! You will have your own space in a large caravan on the land, that way ... more inside

I have a smallholding of approx 26 acres in Glen of the Downs, Co. Wicklow.

Life here is made up of 3 parts; Livery Yard; House Bookings &; Goats Goats Goats!

Yard: Ours is a small DIY livery yard which houses up to 12 horses. The horses are looked after day-to-day by their owners, while we work at bringing the yard and fields up to scratch. The land here - fencing, hedging, drainage etc - has been neglected for the last 15 yrs. We're currently building shelters in the fields for the animals for the coming winter.

House Bookings: The main house is our home but is also holiday rental accommodation. We rent it on occasional weekends to cover the cost of works on the property. HelpEx volunteers who come to stay with us will always be provided with comfortable accommodation when the house is rented out. (We usually stay with my mother, who is lovely).

GOATS, GOATS GOATS: We have a few pet goats. They're very sweet and hilarious, and need a little bit of looking after - clean... more inside
