We are a non profit Inn in the Pyrenées which aims to host trekkers and to participate to local social dynamic. The place proposes a bar, a restaurant and dormitories and try to be alternative. We particularly pay attention to the choice of products for the restaurant and bar and to the cultural and activist program we display.
A team of 15 people including 2 employees runs the guest house but the project is also supported by many other people belonging to the same organization and involved in others projects (tent circus, cooperative lab, etc).

We host helpers from May to October for a minimum of 3 weeks journey.

Missions for helpers can be very diverse: cooking, running the bar, taking care of the garden, organizing concert, fixing, picking fruits in the mountain, etc.

Helpers usually do around 4h to 6h a day for 5 days a week. We provide food (except meat) and a two beds'room in a collective house 15 minutes walking from the guest house. We live quite collectively; We... more inside

Beautiful watermill always in the need of a touch up.
We have a great property in the French countryside, 30mins from the beach. Very peaceful and ressourceful.
We run a gite complex with 6 cottages (which sleep between 4 to 15 people each), big garden with trees, games and swimming-pool!
It's best to have a car to get out and about a bit, but there is plenty to do here and we can arrange to collect from train station.
We are looking for help with gardening, painting, clearing/tidying up, putting in little flooring and skirting boards, plasterboarding (joints), website updating, building a composting toilet, building a very big palet lounge...
Must be fit, as we live on the top floor of the mill ! When we are fully booked : we have one spare bedroom. A shared big bathroom (bath, shower and 2 bassins), a separate toilet also to share. Otherwise, we have plenty of rooms to spread out in, no problem !
We have a friendly cat, Atlas and some chickens !
Thanks
Alyssa (27) & Nicola... more inside

Hello,

We are a young Dutch couple and just installed on a small organic farm in beautiful Limousin.
We have a big house and plenty of room to host one or two volunteers at the time for a period of 1 to 2 weeks.

We have several vegetables gardens, chickens (for meat and eggs), a dog and some forest.
Daily activities include gardening (planting, harvesting, weeding, watering, preparing for market) and building/restoring chicken coops, greenhouse, taking care of the animals.

Our farm is situated close to the beautiful lake Lac de St.-Pardoux with several outdoor activities. We have two bikes (VTT) which you can use. There are plenty of walking opportunities around our small village as well (with forest and rivers just around the corner).

We can pick you up at trainstations at Nantiat, Bellac or La Souterraine. Or at the bus/trainstation Limoges-Bénédictins in Limoges.

Dutch, English, French, Fries spoken. Notions of German and Spanish.

EN:

We are a very dynamic French family. It is composed of Sybille and Benjamin, who have two children: Kilyann, 16 years old and the Lylou, 6 years old.

We live in Valoreille, near the French/Swiss border. The nearest town is Belfort-Montbéliard, 45 Km away by car taking approximately 40 min. Our village is situated at 720m above sea level, surrounded by trees and mountains. There are no shops but there is one Fromagerie.

We have a fairly large garden, where we grow some organic tomatoes, pumpkins, courgettes and green beans. Not for mass production but for our own consumption! We have a small cute dog and a very adorable cat.

We would be delighted to welcome people from all backgrounds to enrich our daily lives, sharing each other's culture. Ideally, we want you to feel as being part of the family and not merely a stranger. We take part in many activities and we are very passionate about nature and the environment.

We would appreciate someone who is outgoing, f... more inside

For the moment I am going to need a person who can help me in the house,cooking...and outside in the garden.

I have two horses, and one cat. Moreover I have three sons (already nearly grown-up).

I'm looking for someone, who helps me with all the work that has to be done:
- at my house (garden,...)
- at the place, where my horses are (fences have to be constructed or renewed, the horses have to be fed and everything has to be kept in good condition,...
the place is wonderfool in the nature . the silence is present in the place.

A big house in the country near a river with a garden which is just started and needs work: wood to collect, vegetable patch to care for, stones to be removed and possibly some indoor decoration.
Possibility to get free Tai Chi and meditation tuition/practice and speak french and english.
Nearest shop (épicerie)and Friday market 6km away, nearest cafe in a small village with a post office one km away.
Beautiful walks around, green hills, some Pyrenneans and mediterranean fauna and flora.
Possibility to borrow a bicycle for short treks around, although quite hilly. We usually go shopping once or twice a week in the local town.

Natalie, 49 years old and Jean-François, 69 years are sheppards in Corsica and passionated by traditional way of raising sheeps. We spend 3 months a year (July to October) in I Pozzi at an altitude of 1800m where we live in a small stone house : it is what we call "La Transhumance". During the other months, we live not far from Ajaccio but still in a rural area. From October to December, we follow the births of lambs. The season from December to June is dedicated to ewe milking and cheese, brocciu and yoghurt processing.
AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, we would be very happy to have a HelpX to join us for the Transhumance : departure day is planned on Saturday, the 23rd of June from our place near Ajaccio. We would need u to give a hand during summer time for daily milking, sheep herding, daily processing of cheese, brocciu and yogurts. On the top of that we will have an emergency task when we arrive in I
Pozzi : to repair our roof !

Germaine & Bernard eat what they produce.
They have a small vineyard, garden and orchard.
Bernard tend a few beehives and is willing to share his passion.
This is your opportunity to experience French rural life.
They ask the helpers to do various odd jobs at the property,
be communicative and not engrossed in " screen-based activities ",
therefore, leaving their " virtual world " behind.
They must be interested in their tasks, the people and things that surround them.
Aids must be used to work manually.
Here, what is interesting is their self-sufficient lifestyle.
Unfortunately, they cannot cater for vegetarians.
The hosts speak French and they get by in English.
If you meet to these conditions, you will be very welcome.
