This is a workshop venue, guest house and language school on the side of Rydal Lake and surrounded by mountains. It is in the centre of the National Park 2 miles from Ambleside and Grasmere villages. The cottage dates from the 16th century and the adjoining barn has been converted into a yoga and dance studio. Gardens include a vegetable plot, summerhouse and sauna. We need hardworking people - year round - who enjoy living in community and enjoy cleaning, laundry work, helping in the kitchen and garden work. We ask for 26 hours help each week and we are flexible with times to suit you. In return we offer you full board and accommodation, generally shared, and the chance to experience living in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and joining in the wide range of possibilities that Nab Cottage offers. You eat all meals with us and live with us as part of the family/community. Unusual opportunity for Helpx volunteers - time limited unfortunately from 14th May -14th June 2017.

We are a family with young children renovating an old Victorian house to live in. The house is in Nottingham, a city in the middle of England. We moved ina year ago with a LOT of help from some wonderful volunteers. We have made loads of progress but there is still a lot of work to do.

We are looking for someone/2 people willing to share a room who would like to join our family for a few weeks starting immediately.

Our daughter is 5 and at school and our son is 2yrs old and very friendly. We are interested in a volunteer who can play with our son in the garden or read him books while I (his mum) get on with devorating the house, and/or to take part in some decorating yourself IF you have the experience. If you are from outside Europe you need to make sure you have a working visa.

I speak French, Spanish, German and English, my husband only English. Our daughter will ta... more inside

We live in the south downs, half an hour cycle down the river to the seafront. Next to the historical village of Bramber. We are an hours bus ride to Brighton, and an hour train to London.

We are on 8 acres with a polytunnel, veg patch, forest garden, chickens and a large aviary with rescue birds/parrots. We are hoping to re-wild the field back into a wetland! We have a caravan overlooking the lake under the willow trees for you to stay in, with access to the house amenities kitchen/shower internet etc.

We would like a gardener / handy wo/man or couple to help with all the various projects and care for animals. We would like two days working six hours, then up to an hour the other 3 weeks day to help with the watering/animal care. You can eat all you like from the veg in the garden! Feel free to get in touch with questions...

Look forward to hearing from you!

I live in a small village called Edith Weston. It is a beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty with many great places to walk, cycle and enjoy water sports . There is a lovely town called Stamford approx 15 minutes away with nice shops, cafes and cinema. The train and bus station are approx 5 miles away in Stamford or Oakham. The fast train to and from London takes 50 minutes.
My home is quite large as are the gardens. I would like help with weeding, grass cutting, strimming, etc. In the house would be deep cleaning , hoovering, dusting, cooking (occasionally) etc. I would like one person to help for two weeks. You would have your own room and bathroom. It is important you are comfortable with dogs as I have a large active Great Dane, named Dennis, and a Shih Tzu called Spencer. I would like you to walk them. I would like 5-6 hours help per day. You may have two whole days off each week to explore the area. You are welcome to help yourself to food in the kitchen and it is... more inside

Our farm consists of 88 acres all permanent pasture (except small wood and kitchen garden). Livestock - about 200 sheep (including about 60 milking sheep), about 20 Devon cattle, some poultry and two sows. We milk our sheep in a milking parlour with a vacuum line and have a dairy where we make our own cheese. All management of livestock & cheesemaking practices conform to the Soil Association standards. We are members of the Specialist Cheesemakers' Association and have had success in the Organic Food Awards and the 'British Cheese Awards.' Our general aim is to farm in a humane and sustainable way, restore and maintain the traditional landscape features, produce excellent cheese and be as self sufficient as possible. We can demonstrate organic pasture management, animal husbandry, sheep milking, hedge laying. We are near the sea and good coastal walks (see link above for photos).
