PLEASE COME TO OUR RESCUE !!!
We are a couple : Luc and Martine, both of us are French, but we do understand and - at least as far as Martine is concerned - speak English fluently. We have 1 part-time employee,Gerald, 50 years old French, plus worldwide helpers coming and going, . We also have 2 pets : 1 "insider" male cat,Gris-Gris, 1 "outsider" female cat, Lily.
Luc has been passionate about organic gardening ever since his youth and has been an organic farmer in Burgundy since 1980. Before Burgundy, he went to work 2 and 1/2 years in Burkina Faso for the Cooperation.
Martine, after having lived in England, the States and in Canada and having being into macrobiotics, buddhism, yoga, new age, etc... for years, has moved on to be a fervent Catholic (and turned the page definitely) : as such and amongst other things, she blesses the meals and goes to church on Sundays.
We live in what used to be a watermill (unfortunately the wheel is gone ), set in the middle of rural, rather ... more inside

We are a couple of retired farmers in their sixties.
We have 5 children, who no longer live with us, but that we see regularly.
We have started to fit out accomodations for tourists and we need help to carry out these jobs: earth-straw walls, ceilings, interior furnishings.
There is work to be done , like planting or harvesting, in the vegetable garden which is part traditional and part permaculture. and we have some land around the house where we could need help to water the flowers, trim the hedges or the shrubs and mow the lawn.
we have still some animals in the farm: a few cows, chickens, rabbits that need a little care.

We are a couple of urban peoples, 55 years old, who decided to change our way of life and live in country side.

Our project consists to have an accomodation business with two houses and a theater and music room to artist training.

We have a vegetable garden, 4 chickens, one dog and one cat.

You could have your own room and access to all the house with two bathrooms and a swimmingpool.

You will share our breakfasts, lunchs and dinners (vegeterian peoples are welcome).
You could work 4 hours by day or one full day and have two rest days, we have to talk about that together.

We need help for buildingworks, demolition and carpenter work and painting or soft work too.
We are waiting for a cultural exchange and human discovery with our hosts.

There's a lot of historic sites around the farm, the countryside is very beautifull and ther's a lot of cultural and sportiv activities to do (we have bikes for you).

You're welcome.

Do you have enthusiasm and the ability to see what needs to be done and simply do it, with little or no prompting? If so, we'd love to hear from you! If you also have skills in carpentry or building, that would be a welcome bonus. Most of the time, however, you'd be working alongside Steve (Steve is a patient and experienced teacher - always willing to share and his skills and to learn new ways of doing things). We also need practical help with the usual landscaping, wood cutting etc- and in exchange, can offer comfortable accommodation and good food with, hopefully, a few laughs and mutual lessons along the way :)

We're a friendly and hospitable couple living in the Creuse department of the Limousin - a water wonderland with thousands of streams running throughout the region. Its pure, clear water is one of Limousin's main assets. Limousin is also a land of contrasts where steep valleys, picturesque villages, peat bogs, moorland, bucolic pathways, hills and enchanting forests... more inside

Hi folks, fancy a stay at my BnB for the summer, enjoy the bird song and wildlife of the Manche countryside, helping me with some DIY, renovating gardening. The gardens have fallen into disrepair as I can't take the winters there. I'm just bout to go back after being away for a year. My house is out of town so you'll need a car, or some kind of transport, nearest village Conde sur Vire is 2km away. Nearest large town ST.LO 8km Capital town of La Manche. You will have your own en-suite bedroom, There is UK TV, mobile internet but no landline. If you like to grow your own - then there's plenty of space to do so. You can smoke indoors but not in your bedroom. I am easy going and would enjoy some company as my French is disgraceful. So if you speak some French too you'd be on the short list. I am a gardener by trade, but have grown up within the catering business. I moved to France in 2004 with my late partner, who was a very clever man and could put his hand to anything, and I'm looki... more inside

We look after a rare breed of spanish sheep (90 ewes of the race Guirra) which we sell for lamb and reproduction, so we often need help looking after the sheep, lambing and hay-making. We do a big garden and have lots of fruit trees, many grafted onto wild rootstocks, chestnut forest. We have both studied permaculture and do the occasional edible landscape design. Accomodation in caravan(summer) or small apartment (dormitory),an excellent designed fully functioning compost toilet.
The Hamlet is situated in a beautiful area of the Corbieres mountains near a small thermal resort. There is a very popular hot spring in the river bed where people shower under the mineral water. January / February is lambing time. We could do with a hand during May to empty the barn and prepare for hay making. Then all of June until 21 July with hay making, mostly loading small(light) bales. This would 3 -5 hours a day depending on weather etc. We offer three meals a day. We eat a lot of our own food an... more inside

Who we are

We're a very active, young at heart couple of English early retirees who have converted a barn to a house, which we'd like some help to finish, renovating what will become a gite and taking control of the garden, which is a bit of a jungle at the moment. Never having had a garden in England, we're on a steep learning curve with our plot of 5000 square metres (just over an acre).
We're both keen cyclists, Nick especially loves doing cols in the Pyrenees and he keeps bonsai trees. Jackie enjoys sewing, patchwork, textile arts and most things crafty in what little spare time she has, teaches English and basic French and plays guitar. We're members of the local cycling and walking clubs and active members of the local community.
We grow lots of our own fruit and veg and consider ourselves good cooks.

Where we are

We live in the Gers, in south west France, surrounded by vineyards and 4km from a small town whose proudest boast is its motor racing circuit which has ev... more inside

Bonjour,
