*** Update October 2018. We are currently looking for someone who can do minor repair jobs round the house, a bit of gardening plus taking the dogs for walks. Look forward to hearing from you! *****

Me and Helen are an English couple in our 50s living in Le Moulin, a renovated 18th century watermill near Carcassonne in the south of France.
Over the past 10 years we have renovated the building, built three gites, a swimming pool, started a gite rental business and a small English language school catering mainly for local children.
We have about two acres of land which, bit by bit, we are transforming into a garden.
We have a lot of ideas about how to take the project forward so the building and garden work are ongoing.
However it is a lot of work so we need a bit of help!
We were thinking that a single person or couple could stay in our spare bedroom or one of our gites with food and utilities provided by us in exchange for about 25 hours work a week per person.
The work w... more inside

I'm german, I lived for more than 20y in France now. Our family have been moving a lot through France and travelling in Africa, India.. We settled down in the region for 15 years and love the area. My husband and I separate and I live half of the time with my children. I have two daughters, one of them is still living with me half of the month, she's 17. My older one has been overseas for a while and she's studying in Clermont Ferrand.

I studied Art in Germany. I am an autodidact in Ceramics, Pottery, Wool working and so on.
I choose to live in a authentic wild nature. At the moment my project is to renovate an old ruin, that I bought 5 years ago. We moved in, september 2017. This is a huge work that I did mostly by myself, with the precious help of friends and travellers.

My approach in a few words is to : recycle, ecologically, selfmade, artistic, preserve the beauty of the old traditional place..
So the project is also an artistic expression for every solution I have to ... more inside

Lucie and I are both working as teachers, part-time. We are open-minded tolerant people, meat may or may not be in the fridge, no smoking in the house. wifi/RJ45 yes, but the data rate is poor out here in the countryside.
Our old farmhouse has view over the rhine valley to the black forest, located in a little village close to the hills of the vosges.
We can use help in and around the house, just as well as in the garden and orchard. Since we have several remodeling projects, mechanical, remodeling or building skills are welcome, but not required. You can learn by helping me. And it already helps a lot, if someone takes care of the cooking. The last helper made us happy with his piano passion. Any art project, murals, installations, I am open for ideas.
In fall we harvest walnuts and use them for bakery. Fall is also the time to find porcini in the nearby forests. We dry them, just as the apples and pears from the orchard. In winter we cut trees and make firewood. In the summer ... more inside

We are a retired English couple, we live in an old stone farmhouse in a lovely rural area in Western Loire.
The village is on the river Mayenne, and is about 3km away from our home.
The nearest town Chateau Gontier is about a 10 minute drive, it is a charming floral town also on the river Mayenne.(In May 2016, Château-Gontier was voted "most beautiful city in France that is worth seeing").

This is wonderful area for all sorts of outdoor pursuits, the enchanting Mayenne river has a towpath that stretches 100 km an ideal way to see the heart of rural France, walking or cycling, lots of stuff to do, places to see for those who like to explore.

We are looking for helpers who have good DIY skills, a carpenter/joiner would be good.

We also need help with the veggie plot, hedge cutting, strimming, grass cutting, gardening, woodcutting.

Some painting both inside and outside

We also have a Gypsy wagon that needs renovating

Ken and I (we`re English)live in the countryside near Domfront in Basse Normandie (Lower Normandy). We are retired and live here permanently with our cat, five goats, three sheep, two bossy guinea pigs, and some chickens(we did have llamas but they have gone to live somewhere else - not too far to visit though) All are pets or grass cutters, we don`t eat them.

We need some help partly with the garden, weeding, digging, mowing, edging, that sort of thing. Also with the field, the woodlands (small and damp so nowhere near as grand as it sounds) and the animals.
We can probably cope with any one of these but all at once is too much these days!

You will also need to enjoy working with animals and perhaps be happy for example to clean out the sheep hut or the chickens, help keep the goats supplied with hay, help Ken if any fences need repairing, that sort of thing.

Nothing we haven`t and don`t do ourselves - but we are getting older and no longer get round to doing every... more inside

Bilingual English/french family (deutsch auch verstanden und ein bissi gesprochen)
living in AN OLD STONE FARMHOUSE UNDER RENOVATION WITH A LARGE NATURAL GARDEN.

I need help with various DIY jobs and gardening,
I would like someone to help out for 4-5hrs, 5 days a week in exchange for full board and lodging, I'm a good cook.
Plenty of unskilled help needed... remove the old cement floor in the stable which is quite friable, some shutters to sand down and windows to paint. For one large task I need someone with skills and experience in renovating stone walls. There is always gardening to do, I am experimenting with raised bed, permaculture type ideas and am interested in BRF.
At the weekends you are welcome to stay or have a break to explore the region, if you stay at the weekend I will expect you to share meal preparation & clearing up (or help out with other household tasks).
