W Tree is a small vibrant community of about 85 people in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains in East Gippsland, Victoria, 80 km from Lakes Entrance and 20 kms north of Buchan. The valley is the home of two ecovillages, one Tibetan Buddhist center (SIBA), a number of different ecosensitive businesses and very creative & entreprenurial people.

Mt Murrindal Co-Op is one of those ecovillages. Located in the Southern edge of the valley it was established in 1981. On that same year Bill Mollison, father of permaculture, stayed in our ecovillage designing a permaculture plan. Then he carried out at ONTOS (currently SIBA) his second Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) ever.

The ecovillage is made of 5 houses and 50 hectares. The residents are one nurse (Beth), an employee at WWOOF Australia (Jack), a computer wizard (Jordi) and a writer and consultant in renewable energy (Marc).

Our farm is located 14 kms north of Port Fairy, which is in SW Victoria at the western end of the Great Ocean Road.

We have 5 children , 4 boys and a girl, we enjoy being outdoors and active. There is a lot to do on the farm from cattle work to gardening, fencing, maintenance and collecting eggs. On the farm we run a grass based self-replacing beef cattle operation, we have 1,500 chickens (open-range) for eggs and we have pigs too.

We have spent !7 months living in the French Alps, we love meeting people from different cultures.

Please email your details to us and give us a few days to respond as we may be busy on the farm. We prefer helpers who can stay for a minimum of 3 weeks and you will need to be able to drive a manual car!

I have recently purchased a 10 acre block on which I am converting an old building into a house and developing an organic farm using permaculture principles. I need help with all sorts of demolition and construction projects. Including work on the house, fencing, setting up the vegie garden and planting trees. There is a lot of old junk on the block so we often find some interesting treasures.
I have a horse, 2 dogs, 2 cats, some sheep, cows and alpacas and lots of chickens.

I work mornings as a farm manager at a local school so we will only be working afternoons. You will have your nights and mornings free. :)
I spend Saturday morning in Yackandandah drinking coffee and doing the quiz with the locals.
The property is close to the historic town of Yackandandah, renowned for its music and alternative thinkers, located in between Melbourne and Sydney about 1.5 hours to the snow resort of Falls Creek. With fantastic bush walking, mountain bike riding and trail riding near by. ... more inside

Strictly NON SMOKERS please. I can take helpers during June/July at this stage.

I do not need childcare duties, some cooking and cleaning would be helpful but most tasks are outside on the farm.

It's officially Autumn and cooling down. Lots still to do outside before Winter arrives.

Gardening, splitting and stacking firewood, fencing etc.

20 acre hobby farm with orchard, horses, sheep, alpacas, cat and two well behaved border collie dogs who are very social.

Forest walks with the dogs is an enjoyable part of living here with kangaroos spotted most weeks. Plenty of birdlife with wild ducks and cranes, cockatoos, rosellas and kookaburras. Some helpers discovered a koala which is rare.

This is an Off grid solar and wind powered house, with WIFI and all modern conveniences but have to careful with electricity and water. There is poor 'mobile signal' and texts only generally.

Approximately 12km south of Daylesford. 18km from Ballan train station.
