We are a husband and wife team running a small, yet busy campsite in a stunning area of the North of England. We are a short walk to the coast, with breathtaking cliff top walks, great beaches and gorgeous quaint fishing villages at our door step. The enchanting coastal town of Whitby is 7 miles away and is the main draw for most of our customers.

We try to run our campsite with a strong ecological emphasis wherever possible. We live in a beautiful place, so keeping it beautiful is good for all of us.

There is always lots to do on the site. Some of it is creative, exciting and nourishing. And some of it boring and mundane - but all of it is in the fresh air and in a beautiful setting.

I live alone in a comfortable farmhouse (if a bit retro!) with Aga and oil fired central heating.
I have a fairly large family of basset hounds which are my lifelong passion. I breed the occasional litter which are born and reared in the house and need supervising for the first few weeks. The adults live in insulated kennels and are exercised regularly . I breed for passion not profit and and try to make a real contribution to the improvement and development of my chosen breed.I also have a full time office job and am an international judge for dog shows. I cook well and enjoy a glass of wine with dinner.Length of stay would preferable be at least a month, though two weeks might be considered.Non smokers preferred though this is not a deal breaker.Driving licence helpful, better if clean!Help with setting up the vegetable garden and keeping grass mowed also would be great. There are apple trees and plums and damsons, and soft fruit .It was all a bit neglected when I took over andf I ... more inside

We are a family of 4, myself Sophie (Mum), Alex, (Dad), Thomas & Cara (terrible 10 year old twins!). We live in the lovely rural village of Motcombe, North Dorset with our 2 dogs, 2 horses, sheep rabbit and chickens. It is a very friendly area and the countryside is stunning with lots to explore and do.

I (Sophie), have to have an operation on my foot on the 21st August and am going to be unable to look after my horses nor be able to do to much with the children over the end of their summer holidays. So we are looking for someone who is an animal lover, who is experienced and confident with horses and able to look after and exercise them and someone is willing to muck in with the kids and help out generally around the home, cooking etc.

A large double bedroom will be yours. We also have a separate cottage which we holiday let, which when unoccupied can be yours.

Hi
We are looking for helpers from 7th of August to end of October

Due to our lifestyle we believe it would be hypocritical to host vegetarians, so please only apply if you are happy to eat home grown free range meat.
We prefer helpers to stay a minimum of 1 month, but are very happy to consider long stay helpers, our longest stayed 9 months, during your stay you should make sure you have medical cover in case of illness, as you would if you were on holiday.
We eat together, and we eat English style, this is normally cereal or toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and a cooked meal for evening, helpers can help with meal prep but not cook separately for themselves. I cook many different styles of food, for example Indian, Chinese, Italian and English. If you drink fizzy pop, alcohol or eat fresh fruit daily you will need to bring it with you and supply your own during your stay.

We are 7 years into setting up a 6-acre smallholding in West Devon, a lengthy all consumi... more inside

About me: I'm a retired engineer living on a small farm near to Stratford on Avon. I have one large dog. I enjoy travelling, taking things apart but not putting them back together, walking the dog, going to car boot sales, hanging out with the grandkids and having a good chat. The farm is 37 acres which includes an apple orchard and a couple of outbuildings but is mostly quite overgrown. I'm building a large extension which will become a separate house. The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a big sunny garden for BBQs.

The job: Various tasks to help with building the extension, for example ground levelling, painting, earth removal etc. Some of the work will involve heavy lifting because this is what I'm not so capable of any more. There is also ongoing garden work to be done. Plus farm work when in season - fruit picking etc.

What I'd like from you: 3 hours of work per day. I'll go through what needs to be done and I will be around most of the time if you have questi... more inside

We are looking for some help at our organic orchard. Jobs at the moment include help with firewood, veg patch, renovating a classic caravan, building with cob, food preserving, and getting ready for the apple harvest. Depending on what jobs are on the agenda, we ask for 4 hours a days help and you will be rewarded with a comfy caravan and plenty of homemade organic food.
A few nights a week we will stay away and sometimes at the weekends also. You will need to be ok to hang out on you're own but as long as you keep the polytunnel watered and the weeds under control, you will have full use of the land and food cupboard! There are bicycles available.
We have a 2.5 acre organic apple orchard in Suffolk which backs onto a 100 acre wood. Over the years we have added other fruit trees, nuts and many other species of tree! It is a great area for walking in protected woodland and on the outskirts of a small village with farmshop, pub and bus route between Sudbury and Colchester.

I have nearly finished a Garden Room extension to my bungalow, using straw bales. I now have to do the Lime Plaster on the outside. There will be tuition given and no previous experience is necessary - just come and enjoy a new skill. Hope to get it done in 2-3 weeks from mid July.
3 wholesome meals a day in return for 4 hours work.
Near the River Thames with a possibility to use a dinghy. Good walking and cycling area. 15 miles from Oxford. Accommodation either in the house or 2 berth caravan or in your tent on the lawn.
