***********from January 2019**************

I am looking for someone to help with childcare or the garden or both! Currently childcare is more urgent but I will consider either. I can provide a double room with access to shared bathroom and kitchen and I'd be happy to provide vegetarian food. There is central heating, shower, bath, two toilets, constant hot water, access to cooking facilities and wifi.

I have a 9 year old son and 2 cats. I work from home and also occasionally have Airbnb guests so need to keep the the place in good order and appreciate guests that tidy and clean up after themselves. You would have access to the whole house but there will be times when we may ask you not to use one or other sitting rooms depending on my work or other. Happy to show you around and spend some time together but also hope you'll appreciate time to explore independently and understand that we will all need some space.

My son is 9 and likes to get on with his own things most of... more inside

As a family, we run a bustling wee ‘micro-hostel’ from our home and garden in the heart of Ullapool village. The property is pretty big (about 1000 square meters) and very versatile in what it allows us to do here. We’ve had a lot of success renting interesting/alternative spaces online for the past two years, and are looking forward to re-opening in 2018 with brand new quirky, luxury bell tents alongside our lovely wooden glamping pod.

Our organic garden has raised vegetable beds, flower beds, fruit trees, honey bee hives, chickens, guinea pigs, extremely friendly cats and a very welcoming lurcher dog called Polly.
Music, song and circus skills are always handy things to bring, but some of our most successful hosting experiences have been with helpers with aptitudes like climbing (we have a fantastic new wall in the village,) reiki massage, yoga teaching and photography. (Did we mention music? :) We are keen for folk that can come and teach the kids guitar and/or inspire them... more inside

Hi we’re Max (21) and Maggie (19) we’re living on Max’s parents (Sheila and Cliff) smallholding in the beautiful welsh countryside. The Property comprises 9 hectares of small fields bordered by majestic oak trees, that we are managing as a nature reserve and permaculture garden. The land also includes a small lake which is visited by wild ducks and a moorhen family.

The buildings include a barn conversion and a double Decker bus that we are renting out as holiday accommodation. We’re living in in the old farmhouse that dates from the 17 hundreds and Max’s parents live next door with his 12 year old autistic brother.

We ask volunteers to help 4 hours, five days a week. The hours are pretty flexible but we like to get most of the tasks done in the morning. The help will mainly involve general maintenance in the land and cleaning the holiday cottages (which is important in order to fund other projects) and helping to get the vegetable garden up and running as well as some cons... more inside

*Space available now*

We have lots of little jobs we need help with -one is the garden and the shed, which needs a lot of work/weeding/a deck building in the shape of a leaf??, and help re-building a shed, plus we need to build/make a new fence.

We live in a beautiful valley in West Wales about 10 miles from the sea, in an old stone house which we are renovating and could do with a little help in exchange for bed/food and some day trips out to lovely places.

We will be able to provide bed and full board - but can't guarantee to cook meals every night - although anyone who likes cooking is very welcome to! If you let us know food requirements we can stock up before you arrive. We are non-smokers and are not vegetarian, but are always trying to learn new veg recipes, so happy to try to provide veg diet if needs be.

A few hours (4-5) a day with weekends off would be all we'd ask. We are also on Couchsurfing so have had lots of different visitors here and enjoy having... more inside

Me and my partner have been building a smallholding farm over the last 18 months. Lots of hard work and two man jobs have made it slow going. We are completely off grid but have basic facilities within a static caravan. There is a smaller caravan for anyone wishing to have their own space. This has its own cooker and gas heater. We have over 100 animals on site so not minding animals is a must, if you like animals you will almost certainly love our place. We are looking for someone to help us with building barns, shelters, and developing our off grid facilities, things like poo picking the horses and cleaning out the housing is also very helpful. We are honest and trustworthy and are looking for someone to offer us the same level of respect.

My day to day jobs include:
Feeding animals
Cleaning out animals
Fencing
Planting
Working the horses
Collecting eggs boxing up and adding to selling hut

I could use help for a minimum of 3 hours a day maximum of 6 so can be flexib... more inside

The helper will have a room above the kitchen, up a step ladder and own bathroom.
Its a very picturesque, quiet Highland coastal village. 300 people. There are 2 hotels and a restuarant. It is usually easy in the summer to get part time paid work. The pub across the road that has traditional music sessions. I am helpful with learning English.

We have 8 acres of woodland with streams and river - good for walking, as is nearby Bodmin moor. We are about 30 minutes from the nearest seaside and 10 minutes from the nearest town, Callington. Our vegetable garden is raised beds on a sloping site, soft fruit area and orchard. We have a friendy cat, Maisie.

We live in an eco-house which we designed and did a lot of the work on. We generate our own electricity by a photo voltaic system and our water supply is from a woodland spring. Accommodation is comfortable - own double room. We are not vegetarian but are happy to cater for vegetarians.. We have good wireless internet access.

Help mostly needed in woodlands and garden - getting in wood, and maintaining paths, clearing brambles etc. We are affiliated with an organic growing project which delivers veg boxes in the área, and usually our volunteers spend some time there helping out and meeting more people.

Our daughter and family are next door and also need help ... more inside

An organic project in a stunning location, in Snowdonia.

In summer, we need help maintaining the woodland we planted in 1996, clearing bracken and bramble, doing sustainable construction projects and generally caring for veg plots and the land.
We will work together for 4-5 hours a day, depends what we are up to really, if it's a fun project we may work longer. Most days have a mix of weather; there is no need to work in the rain or extreme heat and the beach is nearby.
There is a tiny straw bale house on the land and a caravan for guests.
Would suit an individual or couple who are happy with very basic facilities. It may suit weekenders. Water is from a private supply.
Public transport (bus and train) is within 1 mile and we are on sustrans route 8.
Within 2 miles is a small shop and pub, within 5 miles many shops, bank, pharmacy, take-away food, restaurants and cafes.
There are many lovely places to visit here, such as Harlech castle, Potmeirion, beautiful beaches, the Ff... more inside
