Gday there Simon here form along the Channel outside of Hobart. I've traveled plenty and have an interesting place here to chill out when I'm home. An old flower garden in which I've built a small cabin to live in and an Artist Blacksmiths forge to work in. Theres always lots of projects going on building paths, stairs, fences from recycled building materials as well as busy times in the Forge. And yes the inevitable garden weeding.

I'm happy to share my place and my time with folk who are GENUINELY interested in gardens, metalwork, art, alternative lifestyle and cultural exchange and who are genuinely happy to help out.

I'm an easy going character who likes to spend time with a beer talking about ideas but when I work I work hard.. And please understand things are still very grassroots (basic) here theres no formal bathroom etc yet, no internet access and I can't help with visas or finding seasonal work.

This is an opportunity for folk to participate in my daily life, you'... more inside

I am an aged Pensioner who would like help with cooking, housework and gardening. I have many backpackers comes to visit me. I often teach them how to make muffins and scones and others come to cook deserts in my oven.

I have two Siamese cats and two toy poodles who weigh only 4.5kg and 2.5kg. I spend a lot of time helping backpackers with tax returns, English lessons and any other help and advice they may ask from me. Some have phoned for my help when they have had the misfortune to have a car accident.

We overlook a beautiful surf beach (Carlton Beach) & Mt Wellington in a stunning part of Tasmania around 30 minutes from Hobart on 1/2 an acre that needs some gardening work with food cultivation. We have a commercial kitchen on our property producing gourmet Italian food made with Tasmanian ingredients. We want help with prep & labelling. Also have 2 children, aged 7 & 10, 2 cats & a big dog who will all want to play with you. The children play guitar & piano & would love someone with musical ability. They also surf, swim & play tennis and love kicking the footy. Would also like help with cleaning, washing, ironing & general household duties. We have a spare room with a queen size bed & TV but you would be sharing a bathroom with the children. Our life is way too busy and want some help to make life a bit more fun as well as learn about your culture.

I am 44 years old. My house is in a hilly bushland area 30 minutes outside Hobart and 10 minutes from New Norfolk. I work full-time as a computer technician in local schools. I live alone but I have two sons (aged 7 and 3) who stay with me on weekends. I've played acoustic guitar for over 25 years. I am learning to play the violin.

I need help with a couple of small projects (some minor landscaping, small fencing project, some building/carpentry/small concrete jobs) that I can never get around to doing (and there's always housework to do).

There's a spare room with a big double bed.

Fun things do do are bushwalking, relaxing and watching the chickens.

There's no public transport. I can pick you up from Hobart or New Norfolk.

Farm with large home garden with fruit trees, vegetables, chickens, 2 dogs and lovely puppies, 1 cat and 30 Black Angus cattle with calves at foot. Farm dams with platypus, wild ducks, bandicoots, wallabies, black cockatoos, plovers and many other native animals can be seen on this property. Our property over looks Bass Strait. Table Cape can be seen from the garden.

Work that is done for board is our normal farm work. Moving and caring for the cattle, fencing, garden maintenance and we love it when guests prepare there national dishes.

We would welcome someone who needs a break from picking fruit and vegetables.

One project at the moment is to renovate a self contained caravan. Anyone with renovating experience very welcome. Good winter task.

A very people friendly experience with private accommodation. Food prepared inside with family meals.
Welcome to apply for a place at Rainbow Ridge

**Helper vacancies June 2013**

Babs and I would love to be hosts for one person OR a couple at our property. My partner and I work full-time and so would love to have some help with gardening (mowing, weeding, raking, fertilising, pruning, watering, sweeping etc), stacking wood, collecting kindling, and general maintenance of our property. We also hope to start our own vegetable garden soon. But luckily in the meantime we are in regular supply from my mum's vegetable gardens (for e.g. butter and green beans, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, broad beans, potatoes, silver beet, sweet corn, cabbage, pumpkin, lettuce, capsicum) , orchard (lemons, apples, strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, raspberries, tayberries, tomatoes) and fresh chicken & duck eggs too! Happy to share this fresh Tasmanian produce with you.

We have cats, dogs and fish and a lot of Australian native wildlife like Tasmanian Pademelon, Bennetts Wallaby, Brushtail & Ringtail Possums, Kookaburras, Bandicoots, P... more inside

We have a small non-commercial organic orchard and are developing a large vegetable patch. We are looking for help with gardening - flower, fruit and vegetables. Am also looking for someone with some carpentry skills to help convert a railway carriage into a garden shed, put together some raised garden beds and perhaps a fruit cage. In return we offer good old-fashioned family homelife, chooks, dog and home cooked, often home grown cooking. From time to time possibly a vehicle to use to explore this beautiful island. We are located right in the centre of Tasmania. Campbell Town has a population of 850+/-...if it helps I speak some basic Spanish, French and German

We are building a Castle and surrounding sculptured walls and gardens. We are owner builders and have been building the Castle for two years.
We need help maintaining the gardens and some work on the build. Hand weeding where we cannot mow or poison. Other jobs include digging, pruning apple trees, moving rocks, building rock walls, moving bricks, rendering walls, making mosaics and general yard tidying.
We are living on site in a small cottage. We have a guest room but only shared bathroom and toilet facilities. We have two cats that live in the cottage with us. We are non-smokers and non-drinkers so any helpers would have to be these as well.
Surrounding the Castle and cottage we have a small apple orchard. There are two dams with platypus.
We live close to Geeveston which has a bus service. We are an hour from Hobart.
There are quite a few places of interest for tourists in our area.
