This is a rural area and accommodation is separate from our living area in a shed. See photos.

We are currently replanting the property after cyclone Ita decided to fell numerous trees on our commercial passionfruit and Teak. Also weeding mulching, planting.

I am a wildlife carer and have four wallabies in care. Two dogs, Corella, horses and chickens. Help with feeding would be great. Horticultural work in exchange for accommodation and meals. This is not paid work.
Expect four to five hours work a day negotiable. eg accumulate hours and have days off)

In addition we expect help with cooking or washing up (depending on who cooks). Looking after animals. These chores are part of living on property and do not contribute to 4 to 5 hours.

Good WiFi. Not so good mobile coverage.

Heaps of vegetables and herbs.

20 km from town so own transport an advantage. However we can take you fishing and exploring the local area.

We look forward to you staying with us.

Where we live is surrounded by stunning rainforest clad mountains and year round green pastures. Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef, the Atherton Tablelands, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree National Park are all within 20 to 45 minutes drive.

We live on eight acres of orchards, paddocks & veggie gardens with lots of native trees and local wildlife (wallabies, butterflies, birds, owls, green tree frogs). Three years ago, the property supported sheep, barramundi & poultry. We are currently growing veggie gardens & tropical fruit trees (banana & pawpaw) but would like to reintroduce animals & expand vegetable production. We use organic, permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles and are believers in the transition movement. You might be lucky enough to be here when we are caring for orphaned wallabies.

Work includes:-
fencing, building a greenhouse, we are also looking to do some house maintenance and build more accommoda... more inside

We would like to have someone here to look after our puppy dogs while we`re overseas. We`re a family of five travelling Australia in our gigantic 30 foot (10metere) caravan. At the moment we`re staying semi-permanent on friends acreage outside of the little countrytown Gin Gin, 60km from Bundaberg.
You will live in our Caravan in exchange for some puppy cuddles and walks. Our Puppys are Kelpie x Blue Heeler, born on the end of April and were handraised after their mum tragically died when they were just 3 days old. They are still little puppys who need lots of love and enjoy their walks on the propperty. They are focused on us humans and if you love baby animals youŽll have a ball of a time here.

Mangosteen season is over and now it is tree trimming time so if you are handy with a bush saw, can climb trees then I have a vacancy for volunteers. Plenty of catch up stuff to do as well now the wet season is over. This is an isolated farm so only for those who love the bush and nature.
My farm is on the banks of the Daintree River in far north Queensland, 100kms north of Cairns. I grow Mangosteens and Taro. Accomodation is in two spare rooms in the house. Access is by boat only so it is a bit like living on an island, if you have a 4WD then there is a bush track which is passable in the dry season only, otherwise it is perfectly safe to leave your car in the township as I do. Unfortunately I live on the banks of a crocodile inhabited river, the human eating kind, so extreme care always when near the river. All my children are now grown up with my three daughters living in Melbourne and my son in Cape York. I am used to and enjoy the company of young adults. Can pick up mo... more inside
