We live in a village Manor House in the heart of Somerset.
There is a double room with it's own bathroom and sitting room on the top floor of the family home, so you can get some privacy. We have 4 children, 3 cats a dog, chickens and pet lizards so don't expect to meditate! The house is always alive with activity but there are plenty of areas to sit peacefully with a book, have a game of pool or wander in the beautiful Somerset country side. Although there is space to get away, we hope that you will feel part of the family when you stay with us.

We have built a pool in the garden to run as a swim school (www.thedragonpool.com) The pool is very busy and we would like general help around the house and garden, anything from helping cook a meal to mowing the lawn, painting a fence or even GCSE revision!!

We have just purchased this land. We are about to start re building and converting a stone barn. There is a pond, summer house and a thatched cider barrel house. We are in the process of moving into caravans on the site and setting up a yurt and tents for helpers. At the moment it is totally off grid with solar panels & wind generator, a bore hole with undrinkable water. We are in the process of getting mains water & electricity. We need help with the build & land maintenance. We have bikes for use and are 10 mins cycle from the local town, Totnes & swimming pool.

We would really love help with a backlog of working with cars (such as dismantling cars, washing/moving/sorting/labelling/putting shelves up, sorting sheds out and more), so getting your hands dirty will be part of the job. It would be great if you had a love of cars and even possibly a bit of mechanical experience.

We're looking for someone from outside the UK. No couples.

We live in a quiet location surrounded by trees and fields, so if you're looking for busy and active evenings, then maybe this isn't for you. Most of the work will be outside.

We have 2 small dogs and we also have 3 children who are in the late teens/twenties but they are away most of the time.

Our nearest town is 5 minutes away which we will always be happy to drop you off in. From here you can get the bus to the city of Norwich, an historical city, or to the town of Downham Market where you can catch the train to Cambridge or London. Or the bus also goes to King's Lynn where you can then travel up... more inside

Help wanted - perfect for a couple or two friends looking to spend some time in Somerset. We live on a farm in Somerset and always need lots of help with the general DIY maintenance of the property and grounds. I work as a chef and an event caterer and my husband is a wine merchant. We are looking for help with general garden groundwork, grassland management and some household renovations to including painting and decorating. In the garden we need help with mowing the lawn, strimimg long grass and weeds, cutting hedges, planting trees and new hedges and building a wooden cabin in the woods. We are a busy family household based in the heart of Somerset. A great opportunity to discover the south west of England, improve your English and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Working hours can be flexible to suit helpers but generally 4-5 hours per day in return for full board. Accommodation is in a twin bedroom with a modern shower or in a double bedroom with a private bathroom. Our home... more inside

!! We are looking for a helper from April 2017 onwards !!

Hi/Hallo/Salut, we are a busy young family of four who live in a beautiful, listed barn conversion in South Lincolnshire. We are looking for someone friendly and enthusiastic to help maintain our garden and property in exchange for accommodation and food.

We moved here three years ago to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life with lots of time spent outdoors having fun with our children. We are lucky to have a beautiful, spacious home with lots of original features and plenty of places where you can hide away with a good book or laptop (we have excellent wifi throughout the house and grounds). And on a warm, sunny day there’s nothing nicer than going for a snooze in the hammock under the willow trees down in the paddock.

You would be staying with us as part of the family - sharing our meals and living space (although you would have your own room) - and generally mucking in with whatever is going on. That said, you would ... more inside

Wanted: Help with vegetable garden, orchard management, general outside work, cooking, cleaning and help with hosting events.
We would welcome anyone with vegan/vegetarian cooking skills, bread making, mechanical skills for servicing garden machinery, fruit tree pruning etc.
Also, maybe some help with posting items on Ebay to help us de-clutter...!
Our location is beautiful and rural and yet only 8 miles from Bristol and 5 miles from Bath.
We are frequently in and out of both cities especially Bristol and there is a bus route. It's possible to cycle into Bristol which takes about 1 hour and most of that route is on a cycle path.

We enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our location but also find great stimulus with our connection with all the events and activities in Bristol.
Vegan/vegetarian food and in particular raw vegan cuisine is a great passion for us. We regularly host raw vegan pot luck events where people bring a dish and share.
All our meals are vegan, ocassional... more inside

50 years ago this was a small but busy farm. Two ladies worked it until they fell out, and one left. After that nothing was done, the land went back to wild, the buildings rotted away for nearly 50 years, until everything was ruins. I have now rebuilt the house ( 17th century) made a start on the buildings, and need help with reclaiming the land, and continuing restoration of the barns etc.
and making a garden. The farm stands alongside a babbling brook, with wonderful bird life, lots of trees....but lots of hard work ! Sense of humour necessary, warm welcome but no drugs of any sort, though you can expect a glass of wine or similar at the end of a hard day.

We are a small mixed traditional farm with a flock of rare breed Jacob sheep, several horses and ponies, 2 suckler cows and calves, chickens, ducks and geese, pet pigs plus occasionally a few free range pigs. Looking for help with animals and yard duties plus help on allotments, with gardening and general maintenance, it would be lovely if you would do some housework too but that's not the most important thing in our lives! We are very animal orientated with 4 dogs and cats in the houseanf occasionally an orphan lamb so you must be happy to live in close proximity to animals, due to this the house can be untidy and not the cleanest! We expect 25 hours work a week and five 2 full days per week off and hope you will be flexible with hours and days, we will be flexible with you in return and hope to accommodate any particular days off you may want. We eat a lot of home produced meat and offer three meals a day, we expect you to get your own breakfast from food we provide, we have a li... more inside
