Croft 17 is located just a short walk away from Singing Sands beach on the NW side of Eigg with wonderful views of the Isle of Rum. I live on the croft with my teenage son who is at High School in Mallaig. I am skipper and owner of sailing charter yacht and am away during much of the season

The croft has currently 26 sheep, 9 chickens, and a cat. There is also a polytunnel and garden where we grow veggies for ourselves and the yacht charter. My croft is currently in the developmental stages towards becoming a working croft designed around permaculture principles including mixed woodland, forest garden, pasture.
Longterm building projects include a house, a barn and a wellbeing/yoga space. Volunteer tasks involve maintaining the croft in its current state and participating in bigger projects to attain the vision. Day to day tasks involve looking after the animals, working in the polytunnel/garden, cooking, cleaning, and general maintenance. Larger tasks involve building a... more inside

We do not need any help for the forseeable future. Thank you.

We are looking for someone to help with a variety of tasks mostly with cleaning and housework mostly inside of the house. Inside would generally be cleaning around the house and possibly some easy ironing (sheets and pillow cases etc.) Depending on the time outside would include sweeping paths and possibly cleaning downstairs windows. No cooking is required as I like to cook myself. See also more jobs below.
We enjoy being members of helpx and would like someone preferably over the age of 25 to come and stay in a relaxed household and enjoy the south coast for short stays at various times to help me with some cleaning of the house and windows and sometimes to help Tim weeding and cutting down in the garden. We are a retired couple in our sixties (still young and fit). Jean was teacher in a primary school and then was head of an Autistic unit and Tim taught art and ceramics. We have arranged for 2 guests in August and will therefore not be needing anyone else until next summer. This is a small nature reserve consisting of a small wood of an acre or so, a wildflower meadow of about half an acre and a wildlife garden. We are situated amongst farmland and near to the beautiful Tas Valley. We would like our guests to help scythe and rake the meadow - this might take around 4 hours a day over about a week, depending on the weather. The rest of the time would be your own. There would be lots of rest. We would give lifts to Norwich to explore this ancient city, to Cambridge, and to the beautiful North Norfolk coast. We would also take you for a day out in London. I am a retired teacher and could help with language skills. There would be lots of conversation. You would enjoy home cooking and have a bedroom of your own. We are a retired couple and we would share the work and work alongside you. We could teach you how to scythe and believe you would find it a... more inside
