We have a peaceful, relaxing home with a big backyard on a suburban block close to the beach. We are planting it out with fruits, flowers and other edibles, as much as we can. We are interested in living a permaculture way of life.

Looking for one person or a couple (one room to share) who would like to be close to the beach, shops and bus to explore tropical north Cairns and surrounding areas, including waterfalls, beach, the reef, etc.

I am a teacher who works most days, my 16 year old son lives with me one week each fortnight.

The type of work I will need help with will include gardening, painting, home maintenance, cooking, cleaning, etc.

I am often negotiable and am willing to work with what skills you may have and/or want to learn....

We are close to all transport, so it is possible to visit the reef and the rainforest while you are here, as we are centrally located.

We have a 4 bedroom historic home in a village called Mt Molloy ( pop 236 ) .35 mins inland from Port douglas ( gateway to the Great Barrier Reef ), 30 mins from Mareeba and 90 mins to Cairns.
I have just moved back in to continue restoring the property ( both kids now living in the city)
after travelling around Australia for the last year.
Our gardens back onto a reserve with ponds and trees , down to the creek. Mt Molloy is famous for its' abundant birdlife and there are lots of bush tracks to explore .
We had an organic vegetable garden ( now overgrown) , and need help with garden maintenance , painting ,houshold chores ,a particular plumbing job , carpentry ,landscaping and helping me get the property ready as an Airbnb .
The water in Mt Molloy comes from the mountains and there are beautiful local creeks to swim in , and an old fashioned local pub that has live music every week .

We are a middle-aged couple recently moved to Cairns. We have bought an old house which we are slowly renovating.
We are offering free accommodation and basic breakfast in return for 3 hours work per day. You will prepare your own breakfast.
We don't have a minimum or maximum amount of time you can stay, though we aim for 1-2 weeks. You are welcome to leave at any time, as you feel. We can ask you to leave any time too.

The renovation work will vary; e.g. painting, scraping, floor sanding, general labouring with whatever is going on. When there is no renovation there is plenty of yard work, weeding, mowing, edging, as well as general housework.
We live 14km south of the city. Our house is about 200m from a bus stop and exactly one kilometre to the local shopping centre.
We are easy going people who love music [blues, dubstep, electroswing, reggae, stoner rock], motorbikes and animals. John and I are both members of FNQ Wildlife Rescue and are vaccinated to work with bats an... more inside

Young family looking for helpers with our home renovation. We are currently renovating our 100+ year old home and would love some help! We also have 10 acres, 3 children (8, 13 & 15), cows, sheep, and lots of chickens. We have a market garden which is resting at the moment which we will soon be starting again and need some extra hands. Great food straight from our farm or our local region. (mostly organic)eaten with our family. Plenty to see around our area and a great place to stay for a while. Close to some lovely cascades and not too far from Noosa Beach. We have been Helpers ourselves so we have experience of what its like to be the helper.

Hello everybody,

We are a private household of 2 (with our adult son visiting occasionally) on a small acreage block about 14 km from Brisbane CBD. We currently have one big dog.

We live in the middle of nature right next to the best mountain bike area in Brisbane (but only 25 minutes to the city center). If you like to go for walks, long hikes or runs there is plenty of room for that around here.

We like to go away exploring the area with the 4x4 or bikes, go for a hike or do some sightseeing and love to include our guests.

We are looking for a couple or 2 females who can help in the paddock/garden and house.
A little spring clean is necessary, also garden work.
Sometimes you might just be dog-sitting.
You will need your own car.
Must be neat, self motivated, courteous and helpful and of course friendly. A good sense of humour does not hurt :-).

We're looking forward to meeting you and to share our home!

Longer term stay is an option if we are a good match.

Totally private eco constructed timber pole house with wide open decks, swimming pool and seasonal rainforest creek and lots of native wildlife including tame kangaroos which love to be fed by guests. Please note land is designated land for wildlife and therefore no domestic pets are allowed. At this stage I require helpers with some basic building, painting and landscaping skills to assist in finishing off parts of the house and property. None of the work involves heavy construction or overly hard work. You would work with me and I am happy to teach any of my bush building skills to willing helpers.
