We run a school in Huancayo a Peruvian city in the heart of the Andes. The children in our school range from 3 to 16 years old. Through our volunteers, we help increase the children's confidence and self-esteem and give them a better chance of good education.
We firmly believe that education, above all else, is the key ingredient in these children's future and this single truth underpins much of what we do. By having English speaking volunteers, we hope our kids will become confident English speakers, making these practical skills infinitely more marketable.
Previous experience in volunteering your time abroad is not necessary to join. You just have to be fully committed to helping to Teach English.
Our volunteer programs take place all year round, with a minimum duration of a month to 6 months. you can start any date of the month, letting you decide when and for how long.
Join a volunteer program that allows you to work to strengthen your vocation and find yourself more identi... more inside

We have an ecological project run by our family with two lovely dogs named Wachita and Chiquitito. We are maintaining our culture and our traditions from our ancestors (the Incas). We do natural or bio construction and we cultivate organic vegetables (corn, beans, potatoes, quinoa, kiwicha, fava beans, and pea) in a field nearby. We are also collecting varieties of native corn seeds. We always keep our respect to the Pachamama (“Mother Earth”).

BE PART OF A CULTURAL PROJECT IN THE PERUVIAN JUNGLE

Hi, we are Lotte and Julie, two backpackers who are almost travelling for a year now. We got to know each other in Puerto Sungaro. A small village in the centre of the Peruvian Jungle.

Here we got quickly well involved with the locals and got to know the main problems in this area. The problems were way bigger than we thought. With the support of some locals, good information and a boost of motivation we decided to start a cultural house.

This is a small house in the centre of Puerto Sungaro where everyone can come over to share information, relax, get inspired, be creative and where you can work together on small projects.

We also started to organize activities to earn some money to put into the project. Our main activities at the moment are a movie night on friday and on thursday we have an art day (because Julie likes to give art ??). On Monday evenings we have a presentation hour for the locals here. This can ... more inside

If you ever came to Cusco/Urubamba, you know we have a little bit of a street dog problem, and because there are already dog shelters in town, and because dogs in the streets mean very short life for kitties, we have opened this beautiful cage-free cat garden with our own cats, cats we rescue and cats we host, cats we find homes and all about cats cats cats!
Our place is very kitsch, artistic and very cat oriented.
We have musical instruments, records, tapes, books, vintage bikes and art, and we get to play with cats and venture into the town often.

As a volunteer you will not have an schedule at all, you will work as you will keeping in mind a general goal for the time you are staying, and when the upstairs rooms are full we can use some of the money to share food and take you out to eat for your hard work!

There is literally nothing like this place in Peru, we are a very loving house and w... more inside

The project is a conservation area of 132 hectares (100 of primary rain forest and 32 for multiple use) that will be preserved at its best conditions, inspired by the love of the pachamama and to future generations, devoting our lives to protect this delicate ecosystem.
We try to demonstrate that the proper use of the forest can become sustainable and profitable through ecotourism and the use of medicinal plants.
In Bahuaja project we have started a project that we believe can help to stop this debacle: BAMBOO PROJECT. Bamboo is a magical plant. Its easy adaptation to different environments, its rapid growth and its numerous uses, make it one of the most unique and amazing stories of our planet.
The most important advantages are: - Have short-term (5 years) with a noble and resistant material able to replace wood in the construction industry and furniture thus reducing the demand for timber and consequently preventing forest destruction Amazon. Second its capable to absorb 30% mo... more inside
