Hi, now looking for helpers for basic general work, property clean up/fencing preferably 2 or maybe 3 helpers. Painting experience could also be helpful as small room needs painting. We have 20 acres with epic views of the ocean, Poor Knights Islands etc. 3 minute drive or 15min walk to stunning beach which is often very little people etc. Stunning place to live the rural coastal life. We are easy going and have 2 amazing kids, ages 5 & 8. We are musical and social and at times we may not be at the property for a few days if this suits our helpex workers as it's good for all to have space and we have another property in Matapouri. Working 4 hours per day for accommodation and meals, immediate start. great surfing/fishing area. Very private property and accommodation. Immediate start AS IN THE NEXT DAY OR or whenever suits. Enjoy this wonderful coastline rated as one of the best in the world by National Geographic traveller magazine. Very easy going happy family where music and frie... more inside

Permaculture principals...a small holding of 7 acres with fruit trees and vegetable gardens. A small stream on the boundary with lovely stands of native Bush with 50+ year old kauris.

A peaceful sanctuary to garden in and be mindful.
We are a vegetarian household so sorry unable to provide meat. Approximately 3-4 hours a day handy person work like gardening, light repairs and some cooking and household skills would be great.

I have Sam who is a Beagle x a most adorable companion, 1 duck, bantam rooster and a goose are our only lifestock.

Waipu Caves are a local attraction and beaches are about 20 minutes away.

The property is 10 Kms inland from the main highway and 26 Kms to Whangarei township.

Please NO smokers.

You will find us nestled in the bush 30kms east of Whangarei at Pataua North. The river is at the end of our driveway perfect for fishing and kayaking. The surf beach is an easy 7kms away and we have surf boards and kayaks available to use. Working with us is mainly weeding and potting plants in our plant nursery located on our property and helping out at the Whangarei Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Generally work is 4 hours per day but help in the kitchen is always appreciated. We have a cabin available with a small bedroom containing single bunk beds and its own shower and kitchenette, or there is an option to stay in a room in the house. We are a married couple with 3 teenage children who come and go and a small dog.

Our place is a lifestyle block which is bordered by a stream and sits between the Puketi forest and Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands.
We are looking for someone to help us around the section and around the house. You will stay in a self-contained cottage - but hopefully spend some quality time with us each day.
We are a couple of empty-nesters but our friendly dog compensates for that :) Son and daughter are sometimes home but otherwise working and studying in Auckland.
We try to treat our helpers as family rather than unpaid help. So there would be some work to be done around the property and plenty of relaxing time too!

The Longhouse is situated in Kerikeri, 15 mins walk from the shops and a 5 minute walk to the historic Stone Store, and Stone Store basin. There are plenty of walking tracks nearby to explore and there are bicycles for you to use. You can arrange to go kayaking with our neighbours at NZ Sea Kayak Adventures: nzkayaktours.com

Helpers can sometimes help with general gardening, which may include mowing (and ride-on mowing), weed-eating, weeding vegetable garden, and general property maintenance and house painting/maintenance/housekeeping.

Helpers are asked to spend four hours (or by arrangement) for every night they stay by helping us either in the garden or house, and we prefer to have 2 helpers staying to help each other (over 20 years of age). There are up to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom available. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. If you travel to Kerikeri by bus we can pick you up at the bus stop in town.

Free wi-fi is available.
Please contact us via email. Ma... more inside

We've lived overseas for many years, including time in South America, Asia and the Middle East, and returned six years ago to start our 'off grid adventure'. Having 'internationalized' it's been time to put some roots down (literally) in a sustainable, creative and co-evolutionary way. These days we're a family of four (kids aged 3 and 6) and a friendly dog. We speak some Spanish and a little Japanese and would receive foreigners eagerly (also fellow NZers of course). We're one hour's drive from the nearest towns (Kaitaia and Kerikeri) although a small organic co-op is twenty-five minutes away. Neighbours include a Bee-Keeper and his family, artists, potters and homesteaders, some of whom are open to receiving helpers who may wish to spend more time in the area.
People wishing to learn about setting up off-grid so that they can do so themselves would be able to pick up valuable skills at our place. Because we are still building our home, accommodation and facilities are limited. H... more inside

We would like help with playing with our 2 children (Tamsyn 4 years old and Theo 2 years old) while we work at home.

We are also interested in hosting people who like house painting or building.

In return for helping us for 4 to 5 hours a day we can offer free accommodation and food; plus show you around the Bay of Islands, give you an insight into our local community and if you are interested teach you about organic gardening, Permaculture, Biodynamics and Food Forests.

We have a large 4 bedroom house on a 1 hectare organic lifestyle block in the beautiful Bay of Islands close to Paihia, Waitangi, Kerikeri and the Ngawha natural hot pools. We grow most of our own food. We are vegetarian and can also cater for vegans. We can pick up from Paihia or Kerikeri bus stations.

We're an older couple (Graeme 64 yrs and Debbie 44 yrs) with a young family (Tamsyn 4 years old and Theo 2 years old). Jackie, Debbie's mother, also lives with us. We are New Zealand born and bred, but Gr... more inside

This is an exclusive farm stay with 2 self catering cottages (up to 14 guests). A big organic veggie garden, little orchard and big sup tropical garden makes it quite unique.
We also have a big hydroponic lettuce set up with 10,000 - 11,000 lettuces. Operates all year around. Always great food!!
