We are a family of 4, 2 boys aged 7 and 9 who live on a small rural block close to West Auckland surf beach Muriwai. We have horses, a dog and cat, and a large garden.
We are new to Helpx but would really appreciate help with outside jobs keeping the gardens tidy, general house maintenance, deck staining and some small landscaping jobs. Some of the work may be quite heavy. We are really flexible with hours and there is always lots going on but during the day we are often out as the kids are at school and we both work so you may sometimes be working alone. We have a heated swimming pool and are about 5 minutes drive from the surf beach and a beautiful forest where you can go mountain biking and walking. We don't have public transport nearby so having a car is ideal if you want to explore the local area. You will have your own room separate to the main house. We are looking for short term helpers up to one week at a time. Wifi is provided. We are looking for people with a fun outlo... more inside

Hi everyone,

We are a Kiwi-Canadian family looking for one or 2 helpers to help us prepare the house for a move back to Canada. We have been hosting Helpers for the past few years and it has been a wonderful experience. We are a French-English bilingual family, so often receive francophone helpers as they arrive, or leave Aotearoa.

At the moment there is a lot of packing, cleaning and house-sitting to be done. We are putting the house up for sale, so it will great to have some help keeping it tidy for the agent to let people visit. We have a separate listing for our place in Quebec City (Host #94238).

The house is conveniently located at a walking distance (15 min) from the New Lynn Train Station (about 20 minutes from downtown Auckland) and a mere 20 minutes drive from the Waitakere Regional Park where you'll find some awesome hiking trails and beaches.

This is a smoke-free house.

Free internet access (fibre optic) is included.

I own a small property (1.5 acres) and my partner has a 26 acre rural property close by. We are looking for some help on a short term basis from the 18th November.

We have some outside work that requires a bit of physical labour such as gardening, painting, sanding, gorse spraying, and landscaping.

If the weather is bad we can find you housework indoors, involving cleaning and housework or helping getting ready for guests that stay when we have Airbnb bookings.(Getting busier now)

We need to work around such bookings so may need to move from one house to another or into the pad in the city.

We love to include people in our busy lifestyle and have a very relaxed home environment.Happy to share cooking or you cook the food we provide for you..whatever works for all of us. We only ask you to bring your own beers. We work in the city some days so you are left to work alone and look after Banjo (My dog).

In exchange for board and food and a nice time we like help for 4 hou... more inside

We live on a (potentially!) beautiful property on Waiheke Island. We care about the environment and aspire towards more sustainable living, minimising waste, treasuring the resources of food, water, soil and clean air that are so easily taken for granted. We are a small and quite international community, including retired people and younger people in full time jobs. We are looking for help in an ongoing project of ecological restoration on a steep slope on the property, including removal of invasive weeds and building terraces using a permaculture approach. Some of the work is heavy (e.g. carrying mulch uphill). We would like a helper or two for 2 weeks (or longer by mutual arrangement) to put in 2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week. We provide accommodation, some basic food staples and garden produce as available - we sometimes cook and eat communally but people are free to cook for themselves if they prefer. This is strictly a non-smoking, minimal alcohol property, and for the sake of g... more inside
