Our farm is 2 hrs south of Auckland by car and 1.3 hrs north of Tauranga and is sits on a Peninsula between Onemana and Whangamata, fringed by virtually untouched white sandy beaches, 130 acres breeding mainly Scottish Highland and Friesian dairy cattle. For the Aquarian the region is a Mecca for surfers, excellent scuba diving, fishing etc. For the outdoor explorers numerous beach and bush walks in the region.

I live in Ruamahunga Bay on the beautiful Thames Coast, around 15-20 minutes drive from Thames township. My elderly Mum also lives with me, and so do a family of 4 cats and one dog. My house is not right on the beach, but is up a quiet little side road and only 1-2 minutes walk down to the beach. There`s a lovely rocky stream at the bottom of the garden.

At the moment I have a specific task of outdoor garden work and landscaping that I need help with. And also a bit of cleaning in the house.
I am looking for someone to come and stay for a week or 2, or possibly longer, and they could have the little self contained caravan in the bottom of the garden. For this exchange I would like it if the person/people worked 2.5 hours a day in exchange for the accommodation and breakfasts, teas, coffees and they would need to provide their own lunch and dinner. The caravan has a stove and a fridge, an electric jug, a toaster, pots and pans and plates etc, and a little dining table. Yo... more inside

I am a retired medical herbalist growing plants for medicine, 3 km north of Coromandel town, near Driving Creek Cafe; we have medicinal herbs growing all around the farm after years of finding the best spots for each herb to flourish . The work is sometimes farm work fixing fences and tidying up branches, we also collect chicken poo for the garden, prepare garden beds for herbs, plant trees, dig out wild cherry trees and privet along the Whangarahi River, and mulch fruit and nut trees. On rainy days we clean the house, or strain out herbal tinctures. Minimum stay 10 days.

We work 2 hours a day with 1 day a week off. This is work in return for accomodation, you provide your own food, (there is a communal kitchen/caravan for cooking) but you will be scheduled to work for neighbouring hosts for one meal each day, eg. 2 hours work for Alison in return for dinner; Showers and laundry at Naomi`s, WiFi at Driving Creek Cafe (5 mins walk). there is a bicycle available to... more inside

We are Muriel and Evan, a retired couple. I was an ESL teacher for many many years and Evan has done a variety of jobs including local politician, builder and tiler.

Just 5 minutes by car from Kuaotunu Beach, our home was designed and built by my Evan. It is situated in acres of NZ native forest. Whitianga is a 15 minute drive away. It's a lovely little town with a great selection of beach and ocean activities on offer.

We are keen on helpers interested in working in the forest to make paths and clearings and also collect firewood. Other help includes gardening, house maintenance, dog-walking. We are particularly keen on help with painting our roof, if you have skill in this area.

We need help doing general gardening, landscaping. Some cleaning inside if it is raining. Possibly some firewood collection that will require heavy lifting & would suit a couple.
We have a large 5 bedroom home. You would have your own room with a queen bed. Own toilet and shower, or use the main bathroom. Rooms are inside the house, not in a outdoor flat. We have 3 children (6, 3 & 2yrs).
4 hours help in exchange for home-cooked food and board. Please let us know if you are vegetarian/vegan so we can prepare.
10 min drive from Hot Water Beach and live next to a craft brewery.
We're a genuine, happy family who need a bit of help around the place.
