We run a largely organic property but with a racing stable on site. We are situated on the banks of Lake Karapiro in the Waikato, approx 7 minutes from the town of Cambridge. The Lodges' main activity is the breeding and training of Thoroughbred horses for racing. We also run sheep and cattle for homekill meat and to assist in the healthy management of pasture. Helpers have their own bedroom and bathroom in a beautiful rammed earth home overlooking the lake. Free access to wifi, kayaks and fishing equipment.
Equestrian experience an asset. Visitors will be expected to work 4-5 hrs per day 5 days per week in exchange for all meals and accommodation. Gardening, bnb housekeeping, some construction, farm work. Some riding if experienced.
A couple for January would be great.
Use of a car may be arranged with license.

Agrofoerstry farm with a working Dairy unit, forestry areas of Pine, Eucalyptus, Kauri Natives, Nut and Fruit trees and 3-400 Paulownia trees, as well as natural feature areas of ignimbrite cliffs left behind as remnants of the Toupo eruption 1800 years ago. We are attempting to create a track through a native planted area from the farm track up to the top of the feature cliff area. A stay of 1-2 weeks would be advantageous in assisting in tackling this project. All tools will be provided, if it is during the Trout season, October 1 - 30 June then there is fishing available with a licence. The Mangatutu stream runs along the boundary of the farm and is clean and swimmable. Tourist attractions in the area are plenty with Waitomo Caves 30 minutes away, Otorohanga Kiwi house 20 mins, Hobbiton, Kawhia, Raglan and Rotorua all within an hour - 1.5 hours away. You will need your own transport if possible, Tess works off the farm so is going to town most days. All linen supplied and washed... more inside

We are a busy family living and working on a dairy farm in Tirau, in the middle of Waikato. We have four children, 2 dogs, a cat and 400 cows....
We have nice separate self contained accommodation (would suit a couple) and we would like someone to work as an Au pair, help with both the household chores, and some Driving children to activities etc so a full clean drivers license is a must. 2-3 hours work a day, Minn - Fri, in exchange for accommodation and dinner and Wi-Fi.
We love welcoming visitors and learning about your country and experience (so a good standard of English is needed).
We are rural, but very well located, within less than an hour's drive to many centres, Tauranga, Hamilton, Rotorua, Cambridge etc. so your own vehicle is definitely required.

Please read the job description carefully before applying.

Two positions available - beginning as soon as possible. Minimum stay 4 weeks, longer even better. We do have work until the beginning of October. We are looking for two reliable and strong people to help us with our daily milking and feeding our calves. You need to be able to lift up the calves (ca. 30kg) and 20 ltr milking buckets. We pay $200 a week each (food/spending money) and own accommodation in return for max. 5 hours help per day. When you enthusiastic and show us some effort we are more than happy to return fun experiences for example on the lake, to local attractions etc.

We live on a rolling green hilly dairy farm with 400 cows. 35 minutes drive to Te Awamutu and Cambridge. We are very central to different tourist locations with most being under a 1 hour drive away. For example Waitomo caves, Hobbiton, Rotorua etc. So we are in the perfect location for you to be able to do day trips. It would be helpful if... more inside

*HELP NEEDED*

We are a really friendly family. Just returned from 2 years travelling the world so need some help with general maintenance work on a small farm.

Gardening, fencing, looking after the extended family (5 cows, 4 dogs, 2 cats and a horse). We are also currently renovating our horse stables and guest bedroom so if you have any carpentry experience that would be fantastic too but not essential.

Nice cozy room, and tasty food. We have some bikes you can use to go to town or the lake. We are also very close to many tourists attractions such as Hobbiton and only a short drive to the world famous Raglan surf beach.

If you are willing to work hard, we are also great tour guides and enjoy going on adventures during the weekends, especially to the beach.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.. :)

We live in a new house on a lifestyle block (6500m2) about 5 driving minutes out of Cambridge at the bottom of a lovely reserve.

We have a very comfortable and spacious guestroom for our helpX people. You share a bathroom with the children but they're not in there much. There is room for up to 3 people.

We have 3 young kids (8 and 6 and a 6 months old baby), 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4 goats and 6 chickens.

Rod is a full-time firefighter in Hamilton and also runs a concrete garden edging business. Susanne also runs a couple of businesses.

Currently we require help with childcare mainly just for the baby as the 2 big kids are at school during the day. Ideally 2 mornings a week so Susanne can go into her office to work.

Besides that, we'd like help with landscaping and general gardening as well as general work around the house.

There is always something going on, with the animals, the children or the house.

We are looking for someone who likes to participate in our e... more inside
